Teacher Says Gays Have No Purpose In Life, Wants LGBT Kids Banned From Prom

Well, if heaven is filled with people like her (and others of her class), then heaven is certainly no place I want to end up.

Maybe a separate heaven...one for evil little bitter bigot monsters like her, and one for the accepting rest of us..you know..like her prom idea..I am sure it will be wonderful..they can sit around a cloud and talk about how they are forever removed from the undesirable non-judgemental types..and can spend eternity with themselves judging each other.

If procreation is the only "purpose" in life then all those who are naturally incapable of having children and those who simply don't wish to have children should totally be rounded up too.

then 'octomom' types (breeders) has hoards of..

I couldn't help noticing that this teacher inferred that the impetus for the idea of a seperate prom came from the children themselves.

They were also several quotations from their facebook page,now disappeared that applauded them for standing up for what the bible states.It makes me wonder how much influence her and like minded parents have had on these kids,they appear to be creating divisions amongst the pupils.

What strikes and disturbs me is her use of the phrase 'has no purpose in life'.

What does she define as purpose ??

If she means reproduce then gay and lesbian couples can have children too and plenty of straight people don't or can't so that's a false argument from the start.

If she doesn't mean having kids then what does she mean because it's beginning to sound like she means being gay/bi is to live a worthless life or not be worthy.

For a teacher of special needs children that kind of rhetoric should strike a chord with her as it's the kind of sentiments that led to the euthenasia of people with special needs in Nazi Germany.

In fact,instead of seperate proms why not just make the gay and lesbian kids wear pink armbands !!!!

I mean,freedom of speech is enshrined in the fabric of UK and US culture,as it should be.She is perfectly entitled to her beliefs and to express them but when she occupies a position of particular responsibility and influence in a public school in a secular society she has an obligation to keep her own political and religious views out of the classroom.

She should be suspended and be investigated by whatever authority oversees teachers conduct and suitability in indiana

What difference does it make? For a group of people that don't believe in absolutes, why does what this teacher say bother you so much? They have a right to their opinion just as much as you do, why not try being tolerant yourselves.

my high school didn't allow it. im sure they would of threatened to sue they would of allowed them.

ok, so... i found that by misreading the word PROM as PORN, this whole story took on a hilarious angle.

Shame on you. You want her to lose her job, how she puts food on the table (she might have a child or children), because of perceived ignorant statements?

Listen, I would enjoy more tolerance towards gay people, without a doubt. That is only a personal opinion, because I have no ill will towards them and was raised to be more respectful. But to flat out say this teacher should lose her job because her and a bunch of Christian parents got together and tried to do something in what they believed in makes me wonder what other sort of stuff people say you think they should be fired for.

Edit: What I meant by the aforementioned statement is simply, do you think people should be fired if they criticize LGBT peoples, say, on a website like ATS? Maybe something you've said in the past would get you fired. Nobody deserves to lose their jobs unless they do something blatantly malicious, such as harming another person, especially if it's completely based on opinion.

It's different in this case because she's out right trying to infringe on the experience of students in her school district because she disagrees with their form of sexuality or gender expression.
