Paul didn't know Jesus...

I believe his road to Damascus story was fabricated because he knew of the influence Jesus had on his followers... so he used his name to create a name for himself

Paul wanted the same following... and managed to gain an entire religion from the use of that name

Of course it was fabricated, along with a thousand other things in the bible.

My personal opinion is that Paul was a fictional character added into the story to justify the whole faith and salvation thing. While I do believe a man did write those letters, I don't believe his name was Paul, I think his name was Peter, a.k.a. Simon (the Zealot).

I don't believe Judas ever existed either, only his name was used to cover up Peter's betrayal of Jesus.

Matthew 16
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Matthew 16
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”

Why would Jesus tell Peter he was the rock of the church and then (only 5 verses later!) call him Satan? Kinda weird if you ask me. I think the whole conversation about Peter being the rock was fabricated.

Plus, Judas' fathers name was Simon, which was Peter's original name.

Look Paul was feared by the Christians . If you had actually read the bible you would know that he was a direct enemy of the Christians . He meant death to the followers of Christ . His life was on the line . He was hated of Jews but he also had a Roman citizenship so they had to be careful about killing him . And they did have him killed for turning to Christianity and spreading the Gospel by beheading in Rome . Boy , I can not believe the absolutely stupidity coming from some posters .

If he persecuted the earliest followers of Jesus then why trust him so much? Because he tells you to? Come on! Nobody knows whether Paul had a vision or not, it's based entirely on hearsay on Paul's part. What makes you so confident that Jesus chose one of his murderers to carry his message? It doesn't make ANY sense.

What if I told you I had a vision from Jesus, would you believe me?

By the way do you think the picture John painted of Jesus return looks like your story book hippy Jesus? Rules with a rod of IRON. Thats not very nice. That's a step in the right direction actually...

Read revelation and compare it with the gospels... It sounds nothing like Jesus, it reads nothing like Jesus spoke...

That is because it wasn't Jesus... It was john writing his final attempt at something important... and while revelation might be important to Christians, it holds no value as far as spiritual knowledge is concerned...

Wasnt John tripping balls on toxic volcanic gases at the time he wrote all that? I think I saw that on the history channel when they were still about history. It would make sense, seeing the product that was produced....

I've heard various theories on the idea that John was actually stoned... another one was about a certain mushroom that can be found on Patmos island.

I don't buy it honestly... but perhaps he may have had a form of Dementia

On the other hand he very well might have had a visit from Jesus... theres no way to tell. Though just by reading it, there are no similarities to what was recorded in the gospels.
