I wouldn't say liberals as much as Statists.

The OP claimed that "liberals" and "socialists" want to turn this country into something that is stripping people of their freedoms!!

THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!
Deny ignorance.
*facepalm*

And did I just not say that it was STATIST PROGRESSIVES?

You deny ignorance instead of telling everyone else.

Get educated instead of telling people they are selfish for going against the Totalitarian One World Govt.

How about starting with this

This sounds like a dystopian nightmare waiting to happen.

I wonder how easy it is to get out after you agreed to come in. The requirements alone will more or less lead to everybody being indebted to the community--how can you leave when you're relied on for the continued survival of the community?

I think it is the Liberty minded answer to the Totalitarian plan. Just my opinion. See my above post for my reasoning.

good thing, bad thing? time will tell.
course, the way things are headed, we're in for a hell of a lot of turbulence in the interim either way.

This is exceptional. Succeed of fail, we are seeing the rebirth of our country. I can not express in words how great it is for the US to finally wake up and cherish its history, and relish its unique opportunity in the world to truly live as free men. Though it is a ways away from being the republic it was intended as, I will take this initiative and show of solidarity with each other as a great sign of my country recovering from its slumber. If we are willing to face insurmountable odds together, we can be willing to stand at each others side for all else. We are becoming a strong people once again.

Finally, real patriotism is replacing the superficial flags and fireworks to mask blind nationalism. Its being replaced with education of liberty and defiance of injustice to show true patriotism (brother hood). We are becoming Americans again. World watch out, you wont hear from us again once we are done except for vacation time and the occasional Olympic gold medal
.

Just awesome.

I like the idea that like minded people live together as really thats what we did as humans for thousands of years.

The problem I see is two fold.
1. if the state levies taxs like property tax ect can they aviod paying it.
2. How long would it be before the FBI or any other three letter agency turns it into another waco.

The American goverment does not want to leave people alone they want totalitarian control with the allusion of democracy until one day it is run as an open dictatorship.

I wonder if they can stick the word "Patriotic" in there another 500 times. Although a far more accurate word would be "Stupid"

Also, you reckon there will be a good thriving Muslim community in this guntopia? I suspect not...will probably be a town square, with a big Christmas tree, but will there be a Hanukkah bush or a erm..whatever muslims have as symbols for their holy days in the town center?

I can only say this so many times. You are making assumptions, based upon YOUR bias, as to what is in this yet-to-be-formed community.
I can only repeat what is in their literature. I am not a spokesman for them, nor will I go there. However, I see nothing in their literature that leads to the assumptions you are making. Given that prior to this "political correctness" that you allude to, few of the issues you brought up really existed. I suspect, but cannot prove, that many of those involved in this venture, do wish to eliminate such political correctness. Why? The answer lies in the fact that political correctness is actually a form of discrimination. It denies people their rights to be free, because their actions may "offend" others. At some point, in this country, laws will be enacted to forbid just about anything that someone wants to do, because SOMEONE may be offended.

Real constructive remark. Not. I'll leave it at that, because drive-by remarks like that contribute nothing to this thread.

In fact, we still do that live with like-minded people for the most part..
As to property taxes, they are levied by local authorities, not states, for things like schools and roads. If they do not use local facilities, and in fact, incorporate as a municipal entity, then they would be the taxing authority.

I wish I could give your 10 stars, because I believe you truly understand what their thoughts and intentions are. What is also amazing is how so many ATS members have complained about our current situation, and yet, when someone comes up and wants to do something about it, all of a sudden, so many ATS'ers defend the current state of affairs. I'll monitor those that have trashed this idea and see how many of them post that they now like the current state of affairs in the future, and remind them of their comments here. Some people, apparently just love to hear themselves talk, no matter what comes out of their mouth or keyboard.

How about an original thought for a change, rather than repeating something so many have said. I got it the first time, although I don't for a second believe that would happen. When was the last time that the government assaulted gated communities?

In many respects, it is similar to the way the Amish live, without the walled structure. Occasionally, Amish leave their community, and someone takes up their responsibilities. What happens when a member of a corporation who has an important responsibility leaves, or dies? Someone else takes their place.

and a wise choice..most home schooling is for weird indoctrination into the parents insanity
reply to post by SaturnFX

Don't make such ludicrous assumptions. We had to home-school one of our children, who we adopted from a third world country(one of many we adopted), because at the time, we lived in a very bigoted area, where anyone that was not a WASP, was shunned. Suffice it to see that our child I speak of, was the target of remarks, attacks, and worse. When we went to the authorities, the principal told us that people of our child's heritage couldn't look other people in the face, when talking to them.
Who was the weird one there?
You seem to be an extremely bigoted person, and I won't bother to respond to your bigotry any more, Have a nice life. Posters like you are why ATS used to have the "Ignore" button. Too bad they got rid of it. I won't bother to read your bigoted trash anymore.

Dear ProfEmeritus,
Interesting subject matter - S&F. I can't help but think that when TPTB wish to have their taxes etc.. they will simply have a very localised "issue" to deal with, rather than having a myriad of people living in separate houses all over a town/city. Additionally one bomb and you've wiped out an entire nest of problematic citizens.

Personally were I seek to distance myself from the "system" I would not do it in a known location with another bunch of like minded people so as to make it easy to find me.

I think that this is a great idea. Just so long as they stay where they decide to move themselves and their families. If they start thinking about annexing territory, then we might have a problem, but if they want to isolate and keep to themselves, then God bless 'em.

Anyway, nice way to draw all the suckers out and paint a big red target.
