it has a blue ball on top this photo is the wrong angle but it shows the blue ball lighted

In fact, I don't see the triangular looking part of the corner of the building on the top right in your top pic there, in any of the footage, or in the stills at his FB page. It doesn't quite look like a triangle from a plane.

Its also quite possible that the person who took the video had no idea what it was (Though I hear there's been some deleting/blocking going on in the comments section of th video now).

people see weird stuff from planes.

One time while flying over the heartland the sun was setting under some clouds and the way it lit up looked like a massive lava field.

Did you watch the video? It does not seems as if you watched more then once. He was not filming the clouds, the object was in view as soon as the camera started recording.

Twenty seconds. That should be a good place to start when questioning this video. If he was 'just coincidentally filming randomly' where's the footage leading up to this 'shocking' sight? And why was it so abruptly cut off?

Well ordinarily I would agree but think about this for a moment... A lot of phone cameras have the video set for MMS, meaning it cuts the allowed time you can record, as to keep the size within sending limits... A lot of people don't know the first thing about their phones, they can make a call and take a picture and perhaps browse the web and thats about it...

So it is plausible that he is in this category...

On a side note it is not like you to be skeptical, lol... I've seen you promote some very dubious looking videos, I'm rather surprised... I have watched this one over and over and I can't figure this one out... I'm not buying the mountain top nor the building nor the statue argument... The triangular shape beneath the light is at a funny kind of angle and it appears to be kind of roll top, cool video in my opinion.

There's a lot of things to consider, the odd triangular shape for instance, it might not be so odd if in fact the overall shape is a rectangle, (several sightings of reported 2012 to NUFORC where the FAA UFO reports are referred to) that is of course if you see it as something airborne. CGI rears its ugly head again, yet it must be the crappiest piece of CGI yet to grace ATS, since you can really see feck nothing anomalous, except the blue light, and/but how does that correspond to the Revel ball's 'blue' period?
What about the uploader, has he/she any consistency? well, yes there is some, he/she maintains that the 'object' was stationary, as per the brother who was on the plane, that holds up if you consider that it is something emanating from the ground, like the Revel ball, he/she is also consistent about the airline used, although the destination is more likely Atlantic city than Philadelphia, and Philadelphia is where the brother lives, Musch nicht!
Could the uploader ultimately be spoofing or mistaken in any case? very possible either way. You make good points about mobile phone video time as against a simple cut off, but there's no way of telling, still something to consider, again either way. Good post.

If anybody wants to find where that casino would be along this arrival route, then we could figure out if it's on the path.

The youtube video below shows the Christ statue in Rio. It has been mentioned in this thread that it is sometimes lit up and blue. Go to about 35 seconds into this video, and look at the angles of the mountain slopes. They looked pretty good to me (sorry, no embed skills).

Assuming he didn't lie about where he was when he filmed it....the guy was flying over the East Coast United States. The most likely explanation is the Revel Hotel & Casino. The one with the big blue light/ball.

This looks promising, but again, you don't see those types of clouds that low. It's not fog, it's cloud. Thoughts?

That is freakin' cool. Smooth/shiny, not a mountain. Goes above clouds, not ocean/island. I don't say it vey often but that is something, and high tech at that. Thanks for posting! S&F as I wouldn't have come across that otherwise!
