I think 5.9Mw might be too high
here is a 5.9 at Taiwan on 27/03/2013 showing on LISS SNZO

and todays "5.9" just showed up on SNZO (on the 17:00:00 line)

hard to say, here is another one to compare, Taiwan 5.9 on 09/06/2012 which is closer to today's. I'd have to also compare the locations in Taiwan and depth of all 3 to be sure.

edit on 7-6-2013 by muzzy because: (no reason given)

JMA have it at 5.8, but that is ML
edit on 7-6-2013 by muzzy because: had the date on the 2nd link wrong

ETA: I thought I would check ANSS to see if they got that 2nd Pac-Ant Ridge quake ( marked with an asterix in red) on the 09/06/2012 SNZO graph, ha! they didn't even get the first one.

Anyway
another ML reading for this quake - 6.2 ML
Central Weather Bureau

as far as Ms goes
China Earthquake Networks Center - 5.9Ms
LDEO - 5.7Ms

OK, I'm done with this one

summary - strong ie high 5's - low 6's

Comparing all three from SNZO, to me it looks like the 27 March 2013, mag 5.9 may have been 'undervalued'--that's if they are sticking with mag 5.8/9 for today's Taiwan quake.

You're cracking me up with the barcodes, Muzzy. So has the Raumati Beach Earthquake Observatory been awarded any grant money yet? They deserve it...

Oh I forgot, I think there have been a few more small quakes in the Gulf of California over the past 2 hours, but I can't seem to find them listed anywhere yet.
This is an IRIS link to Organ Pipe National Monument in Arizona (nearest seismo to where the mag 4.7 occurred earlier today/last night): TA.214A.BHZ

At least, that is where I suspect the waves generated from. I know something, somewhere in the south was shaking--check out the southern California stations around 21:14UTC:

By 'eck that has to be about the slowest seismic wave in history!

May the 31st - day 151, that seismogram day 158. Must have been a USGS quake as it took 7 days to get itself onto the seismo.

I guess it must just be relatively local, but it does seem to be a distant one to that seismo.

Oh yeah, didn't connect with the Fecha, time was right though!.
there was another one the same day, a 4.7 at 08:46:25 but that doesn't show on TAM
www.02.ign.es...

so I'd say the place was about right anyway, just hasn't been listed yet.
2/3 ain't too bad

Well how about 1/3, at least I got the station

just had a look at day 151 for TAM (Tamanrasset, Algeria) which was the day of the 4.4 and 4.7 in Morocco (31/05/2013)
The 4.7 only just shows on BHZ and BHN channel, the 4.4 not at all.
So I was definitely wrong.
Thats a big trace on post by PuterMan

when you compare to the above mentioned event's traces or lack thereof.

You threw me off by mentioning Taiwan 6.2 in the same post as this Balleney deletion (with the graphs)
So that 6 on the graphs is the Santa Cruz 6.1.
Good catch though, I wonder why they deleted the Balleney event, its obviously on the graph and looks how a Balleney 5 should look.

There is a distinct lack of seismos in that area. I get a VERY faint trace on the SHZ channel of GT.DBIC but that os OVER 2000 km from TAM, yet TT.THTN which is 1400km shows nothing.
