Why does everyone say "his own people"? As if Assad is some mad loon waging war on his own population? What evidence is there that Assad has targeted "his own people"? None. No evidence.

Yet despite the fact that there is no evidence of Assad targeting his own people we have western media tell us that Assad has murdered 40000 of his own people? Ha!

Why would Assad target non combatants? Why on earth? Does Assad/Syria not have a right to defend itself against western backed terrorists?

There is no proof that Assad is ready to use chemical weapons on anyone let alone "his own people". No proof. No evidence.

If people want to trust the 'intelligence community' then good luck. This is nonsense plain and simple just like everything else coming from western media in relation to Syria. I just love the 'activist' videos they play on propaganda station the BBC. And the nonsense that comes from the Human Rights Observatory. They think we are all stupid.

Congratulations on this thread for reacting exactly as they want and expect you to. Now if any chemical weapons are used, by either side, you're nicely predictively programmed to blame Assad.

Because of a blog and some nameless officials. All so easy for them.

WMD, yellowcake, viagra rape gangs. And babies thrown from incubators.

Cheack that headline out on press tv. It says.

BREAKING NEWS: SYRIA WARNING Syria says aggression against it to cause catastrophic consequences

Now that sounds very bad.

What real evidence do we have that a) the chemical weapons exist in Syria under Assad government control ? And b) that they are being prepared ??

Sounds like a load of horse # from tptb same as the crap they always use to justify miltary action like before Iraq last time round

Hey Stinka, EXCELLENT point! It worked before, why wouldn't it again? Let's blame them WMD's to justify going in.

I wouldn't be surprised if Assange isn't in control of the military.

I have similar doubts about Assad too.

Obama to Medeved telling Putin off-mic "Just wait till the election is over, I'll have more wiggle room"

Where is Russia and China on all of this?

Cia inspired Middle East chaos. Too late in the year with weather conditions for Israel to take out Iran. Where does NATO Turkey stand on Israel and Syria? I believe they are not Pro-Israel.

This is total bull# CRAP! This is kill as many of those middle eastern civilians as possible.

This is OIL, destroy the us dollar, and put in a UN - World currency. For Peace?!!!!!

This is one world gov't and communism.

You might think I'm crazy, but watch this play out.

If this is legitimate news then they are only doing it because they are starting to get scared. Not scared of some rebels, but of the western driven coup that is gaining ground day by day as they amass more mercenaries to the fight.

IF these will be used, it will be against terrorists, not civilians.

So weird, I simply cannot find reference to any of this on British news websites. Not that I am doubting the story being on US websites... it is just almost like the UK press will not report this. Weird.

The "terrorists" are the same US Cia "terrorists" that invaded every "arab spring" uprising since the first uprising in Egypt. Only, now the US is linked up with Russia and China. Thanks to our presidential regimes.

I wish I could apologize for the american citizens that have a clue, but there certainly aren't many.

It's not how the few citizens of america would have things, it's the few in power and the many that don't have a clue.

Anyone wonder where they got these "weapons of mass destruction"? The bombs probably still have the Iraqi flag painted on them.

Yup, pure propaganda and fear mongering.

As others have stated, you have to look at/know about Libya to see what's going on here. Once you realize Libya was a total lie, you'll then realize that you are being played.

There was no revolution 'of the people, for the people' in Libya. It was malcontents, backed by NATO et al and their terrorists-for-hire, who wanted less for 'the people' and more for themselves, among other things. Same old story.

To watch them now pointing fingers at each other about Benghazi, the little lie, while still continuing the big lie, as in the whole #ing thing is a lie, is unbelievable and sickening...and 'we' eat it right up and point our fingers too...
We are all being played...Shame on us...Is over a million dead people, and still counting, based on complete lies, enough yet?! And that's just the middle east! Let's argue some more about whether it was Susan's or Obama's or Hillary's fault...But don't look at the facts about what is really going on...Jesus #ing Christ...

This really sums up the insanity of it right here:

When violence flared up in 2011, it was clear to many geopolitical analysts that it was the result of Al Qaeda, not “pro-democracy protesters.” The US government, its allies, and a complicit Western press, willfully lied to the public, misrepresented its case to the United Nations and intervened in Libya on behalf of international terrorists, overthrowing a sovereign government, and granting an entire nation as a base of operations for the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

A similar scenario is now playing out in Syria
, where the West, despite acknowledging the existence of Al Qaeda in Benghazi, Libya, is using these militants, and the exact same networks used to send fighters to Iraq, to flood into and overrun Syria. This, after these very same Libyan militants were implicated in an attack that left a US ambassador dead on September 11, 2012.

Anyway, in the case of the Afghanistan, Iraq, Libyan oil - who says "we're" not getting it? How do you know? Even if that's the case, which I doubt, sometimes the point is not 'us' having it, but 'them' NOT having it.

Back to Syria...What resources are there? Natural gas and oil (and the pipeline contracts etc).

"Oil and Gas find offshore Syria motive for US Israeli mercenary uprising and bloodshed in Syria"
counterpsyops.com...

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the Levant Basin, which covers Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Cyprus and Palestine, contains around 122 trillion cubic feet of gas and at least 1.7 billion barrels of oil.

And:

"Struggle over the Middle East: Gas Ranks First".
counterpsyops.com...-9682

The media and military attack against Syria is directly related to the global competition for energy, as explained by Professor Imad Shuebi in this masterful article. At a time when the euro area threatens to collapse, where an acute economic crisis has led the U.S. into a debt of up to 14 940 billion, and where their influence is dwindling in the face of the emerging BRICS powers, it becomes clear that the key to economic success and political domination lies mainly in the control of the energy source of the century: gas. It is because she is at the heart of the most colossal gas reserves in the world that Syria is being targeted. The wars of the last century were fought for oil, but a new era has dawned, that of wars for gas...

What we know about this issue is that the Mediterranean basin is the wealthiest in gas and that Syria would be the wealthiest state, according to the Washington Institute...

Embracing the secret of the Syrian gas will let all know how big the game over gas is. Who controls Syria could control the Middle East, grip on the Gateway to Asia, possess the Key to Russia’s House, as Catherine 2nd put it, and could set foot on the Silk Road, according to China. Most importantly, they who could penetrate Syria for gas have the ability to dominate the world especially that the coming century is the Century of Gas. And with the contract Damascus signed to transport Iranian gas to the Mediterranean through Iraq, the geopolitical space would open and the gas space would close on the scene of Nabucco that used to be Europe and Turkey’s lifeline. Syria, undoubtedly, would be the key to the coming epoch.

Like someone said, not much we can do, but shine a little light on it, do what we can...And at least stop believing the people we all ready know are liars; and ffs quit spreading their lies for them, and quit lying to ourselves.

Not to mention the strategic continuing destabilization and the breaking of an ally of Iran, which is the next target.

In regard to the media, just came across this, though it was published last May:

"The NDAA Legalizes The Use Of Propaganda On The US Public"
www.businessinsider.com...

The newest version of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes an amendment that would legalize the use of propaganda on the American public, reports Michael Hastings of BuzzFeed.

The amendment — proposed by Mac Thornberry (R-Texas) and Adam Smith (D-Wash.) and passed in the House last Friday afternoon — would effectively nullify the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948, which explicitly forbids information and psychological operations aimed at influencing U.S. public opinion.

...If the NDAA goes into effect in its current form, the State Department and Pentagon can bypass manipulating mainstream media outlets and directly disseminate campaigns of misinformation to the U.S. public.

And here's a couple of examples of Syrian lies:

Just came across a few things from this site here:

willyloman.wordpress.com...

"Syria - Situation in Aleppo"

willyloman.wordpress.com...

He has posted this video:

"FSA preparing for a FAKE massacre to blame Syrian Govt (more examples of fabricated news)"

Go to this facebook page to view a video of some FSA “professional jihadists” putting on fake blood and laying down in a couple piles in order to make it look like a massacre conducted by the Assad regime. I cannot verify the date of the video since it isn’t listed on the page but it goes to show you the lengths they will go to in order to carry out Hillary’s regime change plan in Syria. Below is a video from a couple months ago detailing several fabricated stories, from al Jazeera and CNN.

And a documentary:

Manufacturing Dissent is a feature about the psychological-warfare by the media and political establishment of the west and their allies aimed at facilitating the US, European and Israeli agenda of getting rid of the current Syrian government. It demonstrates how the media has directly contributed to the bloodshed in Syria.

Yeah Syria doesnt have that much. The US still doesnt have Iraq's or Libyan oil so that argument is a MAJOR FAIL. The US doesnt have any resources from Afghanistan so that argument is a MAJOR FAIL.

Seems like most folks who say that stuff are just idiots and dont really know anything except watching Micahel Moore movies . LMAO!!!!

Um . . . with respect to Afghanistan . . .

Afghanistan is one of the richest countries in mineral reserves, it is one of the largest natural resources treasures in the World but has never had the chance of making profit and building the country out of the money because of war.

Source

and

Pipeline of profits . . .

and

Afghanistan has been the greatest illicit opium producer in the entire world, ahead of Burma (Myanmar), the "Golden Triangle", and Latin America since 1992, excluding the year 2001.[1] Afghanistan is the main producer of opium in the "Golden Crescent". Opium production in Afghanistan has been on the rise since U.S. occupation started in 2001

Source

and

Although the Taliban regime has been replaced by a pro-Western administration, Afghan trafficking has not abated. In 1999 Taliban-controlled Afghanistan produced 4,600 tons of opium and was the source of 75% of the world’s heroin. In 2002 the country produced 3,400 tons of opium and provided about 90% of the heroin consumed in the UK.

Source

So, in looking at the spoils of war going to the victory Afghanistan has great potential leaving me to believe the Taliban thing is sale-able excuse.

When you look at Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya . . . . there's always and excuse but the real reason lies below the surface and sometimes it ain't all that far underneath but due to the inherent laziness of the mainstream media and the populace that believes their horse droppings, the 'party line' garners the necessary public support to complete the transaction and people line the streets in support of incursions into these hotbeds of economic potential.

NBC News is part of what is often called as "the lame stream" media in the US. (A pun on "main stream.") They have routinely supported the present administration to an extent not seen since Pravda was a tool of the Soviet Soviet Union. So yes, you should be very skeptical of ANYTHING NBC reports. Especially here, where the story is a complete fabrication, designed to lay the foundation for the US starting a war with Syria. If chemical weapon are used, it won't be Assad who releases them.

Maybe Assad sees the inaction and dithering taking place throughout the US, NATO and the other Gulf states and thinks that if they have not taken military action now, they never will go on the offensive. If this does happen, any action we take will be too little, and far too late. This has already gone on long enough. If Obama held half the sway he thinks he does, a this would have ended a year ago. People look back at Rwanda, the Balkans and Darfur and kick themselves for not doing more, and this administration will do the same for.not.supporting the people of Syria against their government. What would have to happen in order to justify intervention? I am not alluding to a false flag. I honestly want to know what would have to happen for you people to support even limited measures to take out the Regime's armed forces? Any aggression here of course has the ultimate goal of quickly bringing about peace as quickly and bloodlessly as possible. And Syria does not really have as much in the way of resources and oil as people think. Remember, the US is now a net exporter of oil.
Also, what is this nonsense people have stated about the Syrian Army/Air Force having US shells and or equipment. They buy Russian and always have. But, it is the ATS motto, never let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory!

I do not understand why anybody thinks the US or NATO wants to get involved in this. They do not. Over and over they have been given opportunities to get involved and they have not. In fact it is rare you see the West push so hard to keep out of something. When the rest of the world points out how people are dying and the West has done nothing, the West says we have had some meetings with the some of the rebels and the UN so thats what we are doing. It is the ultimate foot drag. If Assad uses chemical weapons the world will demand the US/NATO do something. And they will but, it will be the absolute minimum. Airstrikes and arming the rebels and maybe a no fly zone. It is amazing how backwards people here read the international situation on this issue. This fantasy the west wanted a civil war in Syria is beyond silly. Syria as it was, was a stable weak nation that the west depended on keeping certain groups in check with simple threat of letting the Israelis lose on them if they did not. It is almost as silly as thinking the Arab Spring is a CIA plot. The Arab Spring has done nothing but damage our stratgetic position and created instablility in a region we must keep stable.
