Ok, Apollo believers, why aren't there any hills in Apollo 11 images ?

Who told you that? Got a source? They were lying or misinformed.

The first man on the moon ! at 4:00 in this video

its no wonder you believe in the hoax theory.. you refuse to do any research..

hills on the horizon.. what does that mean to you??

www.hq.nasa.gov...
history.nasa.gov...

He says things looks closer than they are, he says "you're seeing hills that are somewhat closer to you"

I don't see any hills closer to me !

He even says there's 100 feet high hills,1100-1200 feet away from him !

So yes, no wonder why I believe its a hoax

The blind stupidity of this whole idea that the moon landings were faked is perfectly illustrated by the 'flag waving in the wind' argument. The truth is the flag had a mechanism on it to make it move. Fact. Do some research instead of parroting #e you got from YouTube

You've Gotta Be Kidding...Right?

Similarly, we had difficulty guessing how far the hills out on the horizon might be. A peculiar phenomenon is the closeness of the horizon, due to the greater curvature of the Moon than we have here on Earth – of course four times greater, and the fact that it is an irregular surface, with crater rims overlying other crater rims. You can't see the real horizon, you're seeing hills that are somewhat closer to you.

As perfectly demonstrated here. See the huge change in perspective between photos taken from inside the LM and on the surface — a difference in height of only a few feet.

Would you call that 100 feet high hills, 1100-1200 feet away from him ? those aren't hills at all !

He says things looks closer than they are, he says "you're seeing hills that are somewhat closer to you"

So where are they ?

they are talking about how objects appear closer to you than they really are.. re-watch the video with your prejudice off and listen properly..

are you saying those hills are not 100 feet high, 1100-1200 feet away?? how sure are you on this given that objects appear closer than they really are?

and you cant be seriously basing your absolute conviction because of this.. so far everything you have brought up has been due to your own misconceptions and prejudice..
what was it that convinced you 100% that they faked the moon landings?? if it convinced you 100% then it should have no problem at all convincing everyone else..
surely you are not basing your conclusions on what people on the internet have told you?? that would be basically blind belief..

If you had been listening more properly, you would have heard, his own "explanation", the 100 feet high hills, 1100-1200 feet away, are invisible.

Sorry, but there are too many holes in this Apollo story, for me to believe it.

The only holes are in your understanding.

If you are having trouble comprehending the terrain visible in the Apollo 11 photos, I suggest you read this extremely detailed photogrammetric analysis. Done not by anybody at NASA but by an interested amateur:

www.hq.nasa.gov...

If you read that lot and still cannot understand the shape of the terrain then your spatial awareness skills may be beyond help.

Alternatively, if you think there are holes on the photographic record, then that is the kind of rigour and detail you need to display in order to have a chance of having anybody take you seriously.

ok missed that bit, but he is talking about hills inside the west crater though.. craters are a depression in the landscape and west crater is a fairly large crater..

The funny thing about this whole 1970 interview, its like he's trying to explain questions that will arise many years later ? Like he knew people would ask if this was not filmed in a small studio on Earth ?

Or perhaps he is describing the exact terrain that he saw and that is shown in the photographs he took! Isn't that a simpler explanation?

Read the photogrammetric analysis. It analyses the A11 photos down to the level of tiny boulders and plots everything as a cohesive 3-D environment.

That 3-D environment exactly matches the environment we can see today from orbit.

As for "a small studio on Earth", how far apart do you think the furthest terrain features visible in the A11 photos are?

And not only that but the exact same features are also visible in the continuous descent footage. Did the studio have a roof open to space?

No you don't. You can see them for yourself from the descent footage. Along with the features that were visible on the surface photos.

And that is a continuous film from lunar orbit right down to the surface.

Or do you just ignore any footage that you were not aware of or that fails to back up your ludicrous theory?

Here is a nice side by side comparison of the descent film with the same landscape as seen from lunar orbit.

The funny thing is that he's answering questions he was actually asked, it's almost as if he wanted to answer questions.

The questions are as crazy as the answers. They are talking about optical illusions on the moon ! in an effort to explain the odd images we were presented

You do know who the interviewer is and why he might be interested in asking these questions?

He is asked a perfectly sensible question about whether it is easy to judge distances or not. Armstrong gives a comprehensive answer. Which part of that is crazy?

Please identify any other crazy questions, preferably telling us why you think they are crazy, because it's coming down to "It's not what i expected and I just don't believe it" again.

Do you expect the landscape on the moon to look exactly like it does on Earth? Despite the lack of air and much closer horizon? I think there is only one crazy viewpoint here.

Seriously, watch the descent footage and you will see exactly which features are and aren't visible.

history.nasa.gov...

Compared with orbital imagery. It all matches.

And it all keeps matching right down to the exact landing spot.

Click for a large version:

Do you see how ridiculous your "small studio" argument is? A small studio that allows a spacecraft to fly across it for more than two miles making one continuous shot?

Yes it's the same guy that asked them if they could see the stars in space, and Armstrongs space partner Collins answered "I don't remember seeing any"

Another optical illusion ?

Aah the old selective quote thing.

Sir Patrick Moore, respected astronomer and broadcaster on one of the longest running programmes on TV, asked him in the press conference specifically about seeing stars in the solar corona. That's the context you need to put that particular response into.

Moore was also involved in the selection procedure for Apollo landing sites.

Later missions did photograph stars and planets in the solar corona.
