If you want a simple solution all you need to do is put some effort into publicly solving the JFK murder in Dealey Plaza
we shouldnt discount president Obama being the single biggest and most influential advocate of this National healing process, that is called leaving a Humanitarian Legacy because a Healed America will lead the world.A legitimate Obama could not turn the other cheek to this type of corrective action based on National Security
, this is just the republicans crying because they aren't happy with the actions

Where would you expect this movement to actually end up? Not in a theoretical way, but real world a month, 6 months or a year from now? Do you see the line to secession being one with any actual chance in the world we all live in?

Which national asset would Washington be willing to cede without fighting for it? California, Arizona, Oregon or Washington? Your talking about the produce supply for a good % of not only the United States but % of the world beyond.

California is also the bulk of West Coast Naval facilities and Aerospace.

How about the Heartland? Colorado, Kansas, Iowa or Missouri? Now we're into the Wheat and breadbasket for the same large % of America being fed in addition to the hog markets of Missouri and some rather..long term..capital investments in places like Manhattan Kansas and Whiteman AFB, or a certain sector of Colorado.

The Gulf Coast and Texas perhaps? Err... That guts a fair % of Washington's take and strategic supply for oil and products based on it as well as revenue from its producing and refinement in those states.
The US owns no oil companies nor their means of production. If they want to compete to get the business of these now foreign suppliers they would have to create the favorable tax and economic conditions to do gain it.

When it gets beyond the ideal of it and to nuts and bolts, I can't see a possibility at any level. It's just not workable. Only California and Texas even have independent economic and military capability to stand alone and not become a 3rd world economy in debt 500% to the IMF in short order..
No one says that a State or more importantly States won’t have problems. All fledgling nations do. We did and got assistance from France and other nations. I certainly think there are many nations who would gladly deal with break-away States. My prediction is that the economy in the new nation(s) would boom as businesses and people fled the US. Rural people in all the areas surrounding the blue urban strongholds will flock to places where they can live with others who share their values.

It's kinda silly to look this far into it, but people are really signing their names right on up at the White House itself in a nation ...(this is ATS still isn't it?)... that has a real fixation on calling it's own citizens terrorists.
We all really expect nothing at all will come of this and the names won't form a brand new list of it's very own for DHS and Justice to keep an eye on?
I don’t fear their lists…let them come it will reinforce the fact that they are tyrants. As soon as my daughter reaches the age of majority I intend to take off my gloves and become more active. Pledging as did our forefathers, my life fortune and sacred honor to the cause of liberty and self determination.
That depends on how you look at things. I feel we are and have been in a state of slavery and oppression from employers.
Here, let me fix that for ya...... this is just the Constitutionalists speaking out because they aren't happy with the actions of an out of control govt veering into Totalitarian Statism and socialist Marxism and out of control govt spending.

There is NO debate to what is spelled out in plain black letter law......and if this hasn't crossed it already, it's on the RAZOR edge of it. I personally have about no respect for people who would egg on idealists to do something this ill conceived.
Title 18, Chapter 115 - United States Federal Code on Sedition / Subversion / Insurrection and Treason
The right to legally challenge the government or to exercise our right to self determination are not treason. To do so while armed and to create an "army" to fight the government is.
The only way there will be a shooting war over secession is if the tyrants in DC refuse to respect the will of the people and the rights of the States to self determination.
