Oh ye of little faith and poor understanding,

When wilt thou turn to your God?

Wow, you are really setting yourself up here !

Now unfortunately, my post is a little off topic, however, I have a curiosity you may be able to quash, oh and a fundamental question about your thread.....

Ok, my curiosity...Why do people worship/have a faith in "God," what do you get out of it ? What purpose does it serve ? what's the payoff ?

Ok, now for my question, which is on topic...Why do you wish to test the strength of your faith ?

Are you hoping that by asking others to test your faith (of which you will, I'm sure, have a counter answer to anything thrown at you) in turn, you will give them cause to doubt, and open their minds to following a faith in God ?

Because if the above is true, and God is meant to give us free will, then why would you not abide by God's ideal, as any interference, when not asked for, is not granting free will for those to findtheir own path...essentially, you are then trying to manipulate another's own free will.

All in all, I hope this is just a personal ego trip for you, to re-inforce your own belief, because allowise this thread is actively seeking to turn people's minds.

Righteous Judgement,

You have not shown me one single verse where God commands us to kill anybody yet,

Keep trying.

Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood. (Jeremiah 48:10)

There it is.... straight forward... You are cursed if you hold back from killing those the OT God wants dead...

Game over dude...

Oh ye of little faith and poor understanding,

When wilt thou turn to your God?

Please.... spare me the biblical retoric... my faith is rock solid... and so is my understanding of your book...

Your God is NOT my God...

To OP;

you are cherry picking. it is an embarrassing trait of too many "new-wave" Christians.

This topic really does confuse me, and I'm not playing devils advocate I'm seriously curious.

So, if OT god says kill, murder etc and he IS Jesus how come you take one set of rules and leave the others?

Please enlighten me.

Cherry picking?

I believe every single word of the entire Bible, Old and New Testament, all 66 books, are the perfectly inspired Words of God.

Try again

So instead of just commenting on these verses... why don't you try to explain them?

Think im grasping?

Please... by all means explain how your God is righteous and just

Faith in the God of the Bible leads to Wisdom and Security, it also gives you the ability to show true compassion for your fellow man and to fully understand why the world is the way it is.

Basically, it's the explanation for everything.

Physics Theory of Everything has been answered for 3,500 years now by the Torah,

Science is just lagging behind Christianity

I will google it, but if one is the other, and knows everything that ever is/was, why does he then need to change tactics and wipe away these levitical laws as you put them? That's the part I don't get.

The work has already been done by men many times more articulate than myself,

Seek and ye shall find,

You're on an internet connect computer, type into google the explanation for any verses you have in question for answers,

Or bury your head in the sand and wine that the God who gives you breath every moment of your life is evil and his evil followers who give of themselves selflessly there entire lives are deluded hypocrites,

Choice is yours, friend.

He was establishing Himself and setting aside a people for Himself at a time period when humanity was given to idolatry and worship of false idols,

When your children are little, do you not give them more stringent rules than when they start to mature? As they mature, you ease up on them and give them more freedom, only to punish them when they exhibit bad behavior,

Any principals you raise your children with, magnify them a million fold and apply them to all of humanity and you start to see things from Gods POV

Purely a technicality I am sure, but if all the 66 books (is that all of them?) are the perfectly inspired words of God, how come you chose to ignore the ones in the Old Testament when it suits?

I have looked into this before and looked up what you suggested. I cannot find any biblical scripture that releases anyone from those laws. Please provide scripture to your claim. I am honestly interested if you can do that.

:bnghd:

YOU made this thread claiming that you would renounce your Faith if anyone can give a SINGLE verse that shows your God to be Evil...

Several members have presented that evidence.... and all you've said is "nope.... nope... nope"

Not a single explaination for these passages in your book.

Im sorry but the burden of proof lies with the person making the claim....

YOU said your so called God is NOT evil...

WE are saying "Yes he is... here is your proof"...

IF your book is "perfect" as you claimed...

Prove it...

Explain at least some of the verses that the members of this forum offered my friend...

# this is still the case?

# I would never encourage my children to put anyone to death, at any age or level of maturity. Especially not if I could take their breath from their lungs, or indeed never put it there in the first place.

Any principals you raise your children with, magnify them a million fold and apply them to all of humanity and you start to see things from Gods POV

# I wish I could

Hebrews 9:16 For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. 18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. 19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, 20 saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” 21 Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. 22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Greatness of Christ’s Sacrifice

23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; 25 not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— 26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Hebrews 10:10 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Sinful men have proclaimed God to be evil based on misguided thoughts,

If a small child thinks his daddy is the biggest meany poopy head ever after he gets a spanking, is the childs view correct?

Your inability to sense Gods Righteous and Holy Judgement is no excuse for disbelieving on Him and His Authority
