The Great Purge was a series of campaigns of political repression and murder in the Soviet Union orchestrated by Joseph Stalin from 1936 to 1939.[1] It involved a large-scale purge of the Communist Party and government officials, repression of peasants, Red Army leadership, and the persecution of unaffiliated persons, characterized by widespread police surveillance, widespread suspicion of "saboteurs", imprisonment, and arbitrary executions.[2] In Russian historiography the period of the most intense purge, 1937–1938, is called Yezhovshchina (Russian: ежовщина; literally, the Yezhov regime), after Nikolai Yezhov, the head of the Soviet secret police, NKVD.
Feinstein also she also may subpoena reports on a trip Petraeus took to Libya in the last year.
“I believe that Director Petraeus made a trip to the region shortly before this (Petraeus affair) became public,” Feinstein said on "Andrea Mitchell Reports." “We have asked to see the trip report. One person tells me he’s read it, and then we try to get it and they tell me it hasn’t been done. That’s unacceptable.”

I find it disgusting how weak our leaders are. Our generals can't control their penis, and Obama bows in respect to everyone.
Any man who hasn't contracted enough will power to find loyalty to his wife, is a bald face liar if he says he can be found loyal in the name of state secrets.
If you can't be loyal to someone you love, how are you going to be loyal to a people who would rather spit on you and die than love you back. You can't. Both of these generals are weak, and do not deserve to lead men. They definitely have no business with having state secrets.edit on 13-11-2012 by milkyway12 because: (no reason given)

Does anyone find it odd that two Republican congressmen knew about the Petraeus thing in October, but President Obama didn't know about it until November 7th?

Which begs the question, plausible deniability or is he surrounded by people that knows he just doesn't care so they didn't tell him?
I think it's the latter. I don't think he cares and there are people doing his job for him and just tells him his talking points before going on camera.
If it is the latter, that is a scary thought. A POTUS that couldn't give a S&%T what happens.

So.......
Petraeus is the "fall guy."
"Ultimately as commander-in-chief I am responsible and I don’t shy away from that responsibility," ~ Obama
I think resignation, is in order..................

The least significant development, but one of the weirdest, is the replacement of the FBI agent who began the investigation on behalf of the bureau.
