@storm17770: Some near the scene before the explosion said they heard what sounded like an airplane's jets just seconds before. Maybe an errant missile.
Officials from the Indianapolis Division of Homeland Security, Code Enforcement and Citizens Energy refused to speculate about the cause of the explosion. They also couldn’t confirm reports that the home in question had a high amount of gas consumption or a faulty furnace.
“As it stand right now, it’s a continuing investigation,” said Gary Coons, chief of the Homeland Security Division. “We are working with federal departments and local departments in this investigation.”
Coons said the National Transportation Safety Board is involved in the investigation.
The National Transportation Safety Board is an independent Federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident the United States and significant accidents in other modes of transportation - railroad, highway, marine and pipeline. The NTSB determines the probable cause of the accidents and issues safety recommendations aimed at preventing future accidents. In addition, the NTSB carries out special studies concerning transportation safety and coordinates the resources of the Federal Government and other organizations to provide assistance to victims and their family members impacted by major transportation disasters.

If is in the best interest if the gas LDC (company) that it is not a leak unless it can be proved it is the fault of a home owner. They could be on the hook for millions.

Yes, and that would be one high tech weapon
What about a drone firing a plasma burst?
Thats what I'm talking about. If a van was full of 55gal barrels of gas, and the fumes exploded it would have blown out from that point. The gas barrels would have sprayed all over the two homes next to that point starting the fire to spread. Other barrels of gas could have been blown through the homes as well spreading the fire even faster.

Tonight we talked to retired bomb technician John Mull about some of the theories being floated as to the cause of the south side explosion. This is what he said. "If you had something like a drone or a plane you would have evidence left behind. They are metal and that type of evidence is going to be there. I have not heard of anything like that being found. If it is meth, you would have different burn signatures from the meth than this, than the gas. You would not get this type of explosion from an instantaneous leak. Whatever is leaking here has been contained and building up for some time undoubtedly to have that type of affect."

Death from above...that's what I can see anyway.
Perhaps we're under attack?
Perhaps it is a meteor strike.
Let's see when the Military Brass and NASA show up and an announcement is made.
This keeps keeps getting creepier and creepier.
