I unflagged this. Should have read more. So, the title is misleading when it says, that heterosexuality is not the NORM. Ie. majority. That is what norm means.

Instead, what the schools are teaching is that people are equal regardless of sexuality.

OF COURSE THEY ARE. AND THEY SHOULD TEACH THIS.

If your children respect this woman, it obviously isn't because of her sexuality. (Please refer to your previous posts where you said your children know "very little about homosexuality" and that you prefer it that way)

I am assuming that you are trying to stick up for your children's morals, hence why you mentioned this, when I clearly stated that my children respect "everybody" because they have been "educated" that way??

I can't see any other reason for your random comment about your wife's friend.

I admit that I didn't read the actual Article that was provided as the source but in any case.... I still think its wrong to be preaching this stuff to kids who are already under enough pressure!

I have met homosexual people, respect them even though I do not agree with homosexuality. I have respect for everyone I meet.. You don't know nothing about me, my kids or how I parent... If I disagree with teaching my kids about homosexuality, thats my choice whether you agree or not. They will eventually understand what it is and they will respect gays..

Just because I have an opinion about the subject, doesn't mean I push it on my children... And with that, I don't think other people should be pushing their beliefs on my children either. Stay the F___ away from my childrens education with the homosexual sh!t, simple.

Where did the genetics come from? A human didn't just pop out of thin air and two humans with different sexes is just a miracle.

It's the most effective way of stopping people to procreate without cutting something off.

Turn 'em all into homos and you solve the over population problem in 2-3 Generations.

Why does this needs to be discussed at this age?.. at least wait till post puberty to discuss what sex is... i mean, children gonna be mentally scared from all this unneeded crap, let them have fun and think people have cooties and play around.

Sex education or rather this "gender" thing, should start around 14-15yrs old's classes, so high school.

No can be "turned" homosexual, if they like girls they will like girls, if the chemicals in their minds tell them to likes boys they will like boys.

Chemicals in my head made me attracted to females. I had no choice in that.

I know what "norm" is, it's a social construct created by society and what they accept at that point of history as "acceptable". It was only 150 years ago that owning a black slave in the South was "normal". Once again you have proven that you don't understand the word.

Heterosexuality is the norm because it's the 'default' sexuality, it's the most widespread sexual orientation, the majority of the population is heterosexual, therefore it is the norm.
Stop confusing the word norm with normal.

Yes the norm changes, a lot of times through social manipulation by the people manipulating our world and our lives, if the establishment is pushing something you better watch out because they'll usually be pushing some sort of agenda along with it.

By the way.. call me when the majority of people are homosexuals, you know, since you brought up the fact that norms in society change in relation to this discussion about homosexuality not being the norm.. otherwise, your point is pointless because this norm will never naturally change.

Everyone here knows that normal and natural are totally different terms, right? Normal just describes how individuals in a particular society conduct themselves. Something can be totally normal in one culture and totally unacceptable in another culture.

Ex: in the US in 2012 it is not "normal" to be homosexual -- most people claim to be heterosexual in our country. But in ancient Rome people had same-sex relationships all the time, and it was even facilitated by public bath houses; it was "normal."

Homosexuality is found in every socio-cultural context that I have learned about, regardless of whether it is "normal" or not. So there must be a global LGBTuminatti that has taught a few people to be homosexual since the dawn of human history, or homosexuality is just natural.

I'm not an expert on the subject of Homosexuality... Its sort of like converting to Islam.. not good for you.

I think this is a futile debate. I was raised Christian and believed being gay was wrong for most of my life because of what my church said but my parents always told me to be respectful and that there still people like everyone else.
Up until 13 I always thought I liked girls but It was more like a friendly thing. I got a girlfriend when I was 12 but only did it because I thought it was the normal thing to do but I didn't actually like her.

When I hit puberty I started to find my self aroused by same sex and it terrified me and I tried to change myself to straight and even tried to look at women in a sexual way but it never worked. I didn't want to go to hell (according to my religion) but I couldn't change it. I told my own friend who I've known forever Nd she said basednon how I was when I was younger she already thought.

I grew up thinking I was a freak and I still hate myself but I know it can't change.nine think its silly that everyone in this thread is so upset. The schools are just saying that being gay is something that just happens to you and you shouldent beat yourself up over it. I guess lots of people would but I certainly would not like kids being raised hating gays or gays hateing themselvess. This leads to serious mental issues Nd even suicide. I have terrible mental issues because of my childhood. I think everyone should just backoff? Do you think God wants you to make all these children who have no choice over there sexuality to hare themselves? This program isbt going to turn kids gay it is just going to stop them from going though a terrible mentil turmoil. How do you know that in bible times gay sex was used for thrill and to avoid pregnancy. What if people in this day and age just have a change in brain chemistry and can't help themselves? Im sure god wouldn't damn someone who wanted to ffollow him but were told by other Christians that they can't when they hit puberty because of something they coouldent control? I know I was told that and I thought I couldn't follow him anymore because I could never change my sexuality
I looked past the hate and jjust prayed and god brought me to peace. It is so clear beg gay isn't a choice. Who would chose to be hated by so many people. If being gay results from conditions as a child then why would god getanangry for something that was the parents fault. Why can't people just leave gays alone? Gays obviously go to school and they shouldent grow up thinking there an abomination that will just lead to a terrible life or death. I'm sure if there was a magic pill to make you instantly straight most gays would take it. I know I dont want to ve gay but I'm stuck with it.
