During the course of his conversation he places numerous triggers below Simon s conscious awareness. The end result is Simon thinking Derren read his mind, but in actuality he just replaced his memory of what he wrote on the piece of paper.
If you ever get a chance watch "Something Wicked This Way Comes" it definitely raises some questions. It shows how easy groups of people can be influenced in a myriad of "entertaining" ways. If anyone does watch the show, I suggest NOT reading any comments on youtube until it ends, that way the pay off at the end is better.

NLP is no longer as prevalent as it was in the 1970s and 1980s.
An extension occurs when an individual or society makes or uses something in a way that extends the range of the human body and mind in a fashion that is new. The shovel we use for digging holes is a kind of extension of the hands and feet. The spade is similar to the cupped hand, only it is stronger, less likely to break, and capable of removing more dirt per scoop than the hand. A microscope, or telescope is a way of seeing that is an extension of the eye.
Every extension of mankind, especially technological extensions, have the effect of amputating or modifying some other extension.

So basically id say its the collective unconsciousness or its natural desires that are driving the direction of those in the 'know' (not that they know anything in my opinion) they simply give the people what they want the most, not the other way around.
This is where I can't decide one way or the other. Like an above poster mentioned it is similar to "What came first the chicken or the egg?" I have always answered that question in my mind by saying one of the two had to be FIRST located in outside of time/space and then inserted into time/space. , the brain hits a certain wall with these things.

Television 'amputates' or modifies our ability of critical thinking or any thinking for that matter because it THINKS for you while you just sit there tuned in and are oblivious to anything else. Watching all those colorful images needs no other stimulant than simple watching. No fantasy, no brain use, no thinking, nothing just a box in front of you and maybe a bowl of chips in hands reach.

Oh, I loved the Snorks! Pac Man was prettycool, it used to come on after Hong Kong Fui. I really hated muppet shows like fraggle Rock when I was younger though. Do you remember Mighty Max? Oh yeah, I really hated that show on Nick Heath Cliff, atleast that is how I think you spell it. It had a cat that lived in a junk yard. Anyone remember The Little Bits and Mya the Bee? Oh yeah, you can call me a sissy if you want, but I loved the My Little Pony series, and the Care Bears to.

As someone who is pretty damn 100% ambivalent towards the sizable majority of things in life I simply go with the idea that both and neither came first and go no further.

NOT THIS WITCH AGAIN! I grew up in the 80's and missed this "gem" thankfully. For some reason this silly witch creeps me the heck out more than she should.
