Have you ever tried to track down something you saw on TV as a kid, just to see if it was even real? Many of us are occasionally haunted by snippets of movies and shows we vaguely remember watching when we were children. We may wonder if these memories ever really happened, or if they were dreams. Especially when the memories seem incredibly bizarre! Having grown up in the 70s, I caught a LOT of psychedelic stuff on TV as a kid that I’ve become obsessed with tracking down as an adult. Why? Discovering forgotten moments from our youth is the closest thing we have to time travel. We get to relive an experience we had and to see what actually happened. Sometimes, we may even be shocked to find that the story from way back then provides an answer to our lives now.

thelaymansanswerstoeverything.com...

This is my first time making a thread so I am a tad nervous. This site can be intimidating for a newbie! If this is in the wrong forum I apologize.

I happen to catch a Saturday morning cartoon today, and boy was the content surprising. Because I had just woken up, a detailed description eludes me but I remember the jest of it.

It appeared to be about two factions opposing each other (good Vs evil), the "evil" race being some form of mechanical/alien species. The "good" race being humans, some who had began integrating bio mechanical parts into their body to keep up with the other race.

I sat watching this cartoon for roughly 20 minutes in a state of awe. The content seemed complex for such a young age to be "ingesting" into their mind. Later this afternoon I went to a blog of sorts I follow and found his newest article. The link will be supplied at the end (hopefully I will figure out how to link a source properly), I find it to be a fairly entertaining and informative blog if you are into this kind of thing. I highly suggest reading the full article if you have the time.

It is quite ironic we call them "programs" because if you think about it, that is exactly what these shows are doing to developing minds. They would have a direct impact on the subconscious/consciousness of a child's cognitive development. Obviously this could be a positive or negative influence, but that would all be relative. It is safe to say it has an influence no doubt, even with us as adults but maybe not as severe of an impact.

I am excited after reading this article to go back and watch some of the cartoons I grew up watching, if only to see the real message that was delivered to me at that time.

The guy describes his blog as "The meaning of life according to some guy who likes TV and stuff". I believe a good majority of ATS members would enjoy much of his content. He covers a broad range of topics, for instance here is a quote from another article.

We are living through some pretty dark times. The economy continues to be horrendous with the middle class going through the toughest challenges it’s ever had to face. To make matters worse, natural disasters are becoming more powerful and frequent than ever before, the uprisings in the Middle East are bringing unprecedented instability to the region, and if these “end of days” scenarios weren’t enough, the Maya, Nostradamus, and others all actually predicted the end of the world in 2012.

I suppose I left out the most important part, the conspiracy. The question would be is this being done intentionally by a group of people to influence young minds? And if so, who is doing it? Is it being done with our best interest in mind?

Or is this just kind of an unintentional effect when we/consciousness create something? No matter what we will be influenced by what we create intentionally or not.

I would say more than just binary thinking conditioning, if you are referring to the dualistic programing I mention with Good Vs Evil scenarios. That is handled on more levels than just cartoons, mainly religion etc. I suppose I am speaking more of the "deeper" content embedded.

Also I like the idea of going back and watching things you viewed as a kid. Seeing what exactly you were watching while your mind was developing could give you some insight into "why you are the way you are" so to speak. I had not happened across a Saturday morning cartoon in quite some time and the content surprised me.

My connection is horrid right now but after it loads fully I will let you know what I think. Care to give a brief synopsis of your thoughts about the video in relation to the subject matter? I am not being an ass
it's hard to convey intention with just words.

Thank you for the reply.

I had no idea Tom and Jerry were ever found in human form as opposed to the cat n mouse. From what I have seen it appears racism would be the primary influence here, but I have not watched the full video to see how this works out for the two protagonist lol if the attempt goes badly you could argue this was an anti racism type of program. However I doubt that to be the case for some reason

I am at a neighbors house using my WiFi from home, so you tube is NOT OPTIMAL right meow. I'll get back to you after I get a chance to follow the whole cartoon through.

So what do you think would be the purpose of saturating young minds with the idea of an evil race humanity needs to "upgrade" to stay on the same level and compete with them? What could this upgrade be? Maybe the mechanical nature of the upgrade is to be taken literally, or it could be a metaphor for something.

Between Witchy Poo and the Sleestak , I'll never be the same...

Maybe this is the origin of my alternative thinking?

And you're right...going back to look at it now... it's totally messed up. I would NEVER let my kid watch some of that stuff.

Anyone around the age of 30 remember what we watched growing up? All I can remember is Fragal Rock, and some odd show with creatures who live underwater with some nose that functioned as a breathing apparatus.

I watched these shows when growing up I wasn't big on watching morning television.

This is what I watched while I was growing up:

It was about a boy who had a sea monster as a friend. In this episode, they are going to a top secret location to meet an alien.

LOL, it was the precursor to me ending up here at ATS!
