The Iranian leadership realises how weak the Obama administration is. So it would be in their best interests to do anything they could to keep Obama in office.

S&F

And if he werent able to pull it off you'd say it's because he's weak and the Iranians don't respect him

Try not to be so predictable it makes you look stupid

Bell bottom pants make me look stupid.

Being suspect of the motivations of Iran and Obama is just smart.

This is good.

War was averted.

Iran is complying with the new world oligarchy.

This is fantastic october surprise material!

Personally, I believe that they must have strong-armed Iran behind closed doors.

The other option, is they've already got what part they needed, and are going to buy the rest.

It is good news if it's true...but I'm a bit skeptical of the "wn" source. It's a christian "news" website. I have a hard time believing anything that someone who believes in talking snakes says. Atlhough...I can't really imagine why the christian right would want to publish a story that will help Obama...so maybe it is real? Time will tell I suppose.

If it's true...he's got my vote again. I disagree with a lot of his domestic policies and was intending to vote for Johnson...but keeping us out of WWIII is sort of a big deal.

Yes...because "real men" get us involved in completely unwinnable wars which we cannot possibly hope to finance.

Excellent point.

Just sayin'.

I know the US is arrogant, but I must say the US would demolish Iran if they wanted too, along side with Israel and NATO.. I don't think Iran really has much options left, they might act like they're a tough nation but really..There Bark Doesn't Have Any Bite...It's like a puddle to a Pitbull lol.

So arrogant and dumb. There are more ways to be defeated other than militarily. We are in utter financial ruin. WAKE UP!!

Besides...Russia and China already indicated that they might just go ahead and take an attack on Iran personally. Are you equally as confident that we can so easily beat the Russians and Chinese as well?

We haven't decisively won a major armed conflict in 67 years....why would you think we would have such an easy time against Iran?

Yeah...it worked out just fine didn't it? Has N. Korea attacked anybody or caused any real problems for us lately?

I personally feel A LOT more comfortable with a nuclear Iran. If they have nukes then both the US and Israeli's will REALLY have to think twice before invading them or toppling their government for a fourth time in less than 70 years.

Now you know how I feel when talking to people about this issue. No one cares what you post. They will go on believeing what they want regardless. Countless times I hear Iran only wants peaceful energy and 20% enrichment. Then Iran comes out and says they want nuclear submarines and 60% enrichment and months of defending their peaceful progress is abandoned and a new position adopted.

I Don't trust Iran.

I also do NOT want to attack Iran.

Does anybody get this??

Makes perfect sense to me.

Personally...I don't trust Iran either...but I still trust them more than I trust our own government's ability to not get us involved in yet another completely unwinnable war. We are addicted to it like crack coc aine.

Thus...if it ultimately takes a nuclear Iran to provide us a significant deterrent from invading like a bunch of drunken cowboys...then I say let them have their nukes.

If Iran obtains nuclear weapons, then almost certainly Saudi Arabia will do the same, as will Egypt, Turkey and perhaps others in the region.

John Bolton

That won't make me feel safer.

Personally I' m not trusting Iran's leaders as far as I can throw them. Verify, Verify and Verify before any sanctions get lifted. There would have to be destruction of the military aspects of their program as well. I'm not believing this report at all. No way the Obama Administration does this without a full mechanism of very intrustive inspections. We have gone beyond merely trusting Iran at it's word. Quite frankly I don't see Iran letting such inspections taking place either.

On a side note, exactly how did all those great nuclear negoations work with North Korea???? Iran is using the same playbook.

Saudi Arabia is making noises that it will "have" to counterbalance Iran having nukes by having some of their own. The Sunni / Shia Feud will heat up radioactive then. That would almost be too fitting to have the first nuclear exhange in the world between those two. That's part of the path we are headed on with an Iran with a nuclear weapon. It's a dark tunnel with no light at the end of it.

I would rather see Iran keep building up its space program. It has already launched at least 3 satellites into orbit. It launched its first in 2009, I believe. Build more schools. Build nuclear plants legally. I don't mind their religion as long as they don't spread violence across the world. I feel repulsed by the idea they might execute people for petty crimes or for things like being a homosexual, but I feel that as they advance their technology and knowledge that these primitive behaviors will subside and be replaced by more tolerance for adversity. But I'm not holding my breath.

Obviously, their support for Hezbollah and Hamas and their open call for fighting the Israel "regime" is not a sign that things are getting better. But I want to hope that things are getting better.

This reminds me of North Korea when Bill Clinton worked out a deal to try to halt their nuclear ambitions. We all know how well that went. North Korea now has nuclear weapons.

See this:
www.washingtonpost.com -
Khamenei: Iran will back ‘any nations, any groups’ fighting Israel...

..........
“From now onward, we will support and help any nations, any groups fighting against the Zionist regime across the world, and we are not afraid of declaring this,” Khamenei said during a rare Friday prayer lecture at Tehran University.

“The Zionist regime is a true cancer tumor on this region that should be cut off,” the supreme leader said. “And it definitely will be cut off.”
........
He suggested that Iran’s support for the Palestinian militant group Hamas and for Lebanon’s Hezbollah had helped lead to victory in their battles with “the Zionist state,” as Israel is officially called here.

“We got involved in the anti-Israeli issues, which resulted in victory in the 33-day and 22-day wars,” Khamenei said, referring to Israel’s 2006 war with Lebanon and its incursion into the Gaza Strip in late 2008.
.........

It's a cold political move by Obama.

It spreads more than that with their covert support for certain groups.

I feel repulsed by the idea they might execute people for petty crimes or for things like being a homosexual

Might execute?

Nazi Germany had the most advanced tech on the planet back in the late 30s and early 40s. Yup, bunch of nice fellas.

But I'm not holding my breath.

I see we have common ground.

Nazi Germany might have had advanced technology for their time, but:
a) They lived in a world with less tolerance than we enjoy today - more primitive overall
b) They had severely limited social and educational learning - nazi tyranny essentially

Nazi Germany got its technology right, but it failed to meet its social and/or other needs.

What I'm saying is that it's my HOPE that Iran focuses on science and knowledge AND by this I also mean freedom of information which implies that they lose their tyrannical hold on information.
