Animals/Pets Forum?

Bumping for good measure and in support...

More Pros and Cons discussion of the proposed forum as it may help advance the idea...

Cons

•As brought up earlier, the worry for it becoming a "cute" picture post forum,
Ways to correct as suggested; specific thread and or threads for picture posting.

•People may ask for medical advice, possibly forgoing taking their companion animal to a clinic, which of course should be discouraged. Proper notation may be indicted in the forum description that seeing your pet's Dr. is always for the best, as an internet diagnosis is not a good option.
However, this issue seems to have not disrupted the Medical Issues & Conspiracies forum.

•Emotional stories of abuse, etc.-to post or to not post?
This has been brought up before in the ATS community as to if they should be posted or not, as it goes hand in hand with any news- sensitive stories and utmost discretion and warning if possible should be brought to attention, with of course, minding ATS rules.

•Posting an animal related subject in a BTS forum, where it might be better off posted in Breaking News, Fragile Earth, etc., due to issues of those forums being taken more seriously, and/or being noticed more.


Pros

•Inner community support, beyond pets only websites, but directed to the ATS community, from member to member or sharing of from everything from news, to debates, and ideas and more.

•Positive and a more promotional use of BTS!

Bumping in right behind you. This is one more vote for the animals forum. After all, they are a lot more interesting than politicians - and infinitely more honest.

Time to look closer to Nature for wisdom, and those who cannot see the wisdom, are just not looking up from their screens (of whatever size).

I wish we had an anima/petl forum.
I have several pets and I love them dearly.

With 11 animals I would have plenty to post ^_^ my question to the site owners would be why not.

First noticed this today and I think it would be great. As others have said, there are so many animal stories and people who love their furry friends, that I think it would surely take off. When my cat stares at me with those big intelligent eyes, I ask him, "Are you an alien?" He hasn't answered that question yet. I took care of a chicken once that I ended up liking a lot. He was so funny. Let's do it!

I think a Pet/animal forum would be a good idea. I've been known to post a few of those things in the General Chit Chat but pets/animals could have a better spotlight if they have their own forum. Sometimes its nice just to see a pet vid especially if you're feeling overwhelmed with the heavy stuff that's going on in the world. Nice idea. Pets have away of making you at least smile.

I asked my dog his thoughts and he`s all for it (well he smiled about it anyway) , he`s American Bull Arab cross Staghound so his voice covers more than one countries vote or individual.



Oh and a yes from me too.

The only way to achieve this is enough members supporting and flagging for this thread. Not trolling for flags but it seems that they speak to the mods and owners while also showing other members the support.

So bring your friends, family and even strangers here to voice their support. I believe we'll get it soon enough.

Absolutely ATS needs a pet forum. Let's make the world a better place, one forum at a time.

I had to give my cat Slate a final good bye last year. Just shy of 20 years when he took off for new things. He was lying beside me in bed that night, as I knew that he would not make it through the night. I awoke from a pleasant dream, checked on him and felt his last breath. One of the more moving experiences I have ever had.

Slate and the litter box traveled all over the country with me. I can only smile when I think of him, and often times feel him lounging in the front seat of my car.
