"We"?. What about yourself? What have you done for your country lately, that is, besides tapping a few platitudes on a keyboard?

He hit a nerve with you? Like you have a clue what this person has done. There is no reason to personally attack him. as far as we know and YOU'R included in this johncarter. This guy could have served in our services. help cure cancer or whatever. Gives no reason what-so-ever to attack him for making a post. Really shows a lot about you though.

As far as getting back on topic. I do agree with your statement. But this convo has been in place since bush was pres. it was one of the base lie's that Mr. Obama got him into office "reform" in which he did want to change and did. he just reformed our Constitution to ash...

But we do a "total recall" in the House every 2 years. 1/3 of the Senate every two years, the same.

Term limits and campaign financing is ONLY from uniform standard govt. source is what will accomplish what we seek.

Shoot, I'm more pissed at the Senate at the moment. It's been 1200 days since they passed a budget. The media ignores it and gives them a pass.

I say we all just vote out every persn holding an office or seat right now, only vote in people who haven't held any political office at all and start over fresh.

Just my take, to bad nobody will listen though, as they continue to vote back in all the trash, all the while wandering why nothing ever changes.

nobody will listen??...have you seen all the tea party people elected in 2010?...they didn't even want to pay on our national credit card, and caused a panic over our credit rating resulting in more taxpayer money being paid out.....yeah...right...let's elect more people that don't have a clue...sure..that'll work

I'd love to. But you know what?

It wouldn't change a damned thing.

The root of the problems are two-fold:

The wealthy elite spending lots of money to control our politicians and the progressives who wish to turn America into another socialist Europe.

Get rid of those two camps and you'd stop the corruption.

I was thinking about this topic this morning, as a matter of fact I have been thinking about this issue for quite a while,

How do "WE THE PEOPLE," fight back, it is apparent we wont be able to fight a good old fashioned revolution so,

Shut the whole darn thing down.

How can that be done?

What if just one day no one I mean no one in this country did anything, a nationwide sit-out, don't go to work, no shopping, no buy gas, nadda.

Now if that doesn't send them a message let's try a week.

Shut the whole system down.

How to accomplish this?

How to get everyone to participate?

Obviously not everyone would participate, so with that in mind how many participants would it take to make a major impact?

I can dream can't I?

Everytime a Democrat is voted out, he or she gets a lifetime pension with raises and 100% taxpayer-funded healthcare for life. He or she is then replaced by a Republican.

Everytime a Republican is voted out, he or she gets a lifetime pension with raises and 100% taxpayer-funded healthcare for life. He or she is then replaced by a Democrat.

Unless we change fundamentally the system that guarantees virtually all elected officials will be representatives of corporate and foreign interests rather than representatives of US Citizens, all voting anyone out does is add to our bill of forever-pensions.

What about grammar check?

Next time try misspellings instead of mis-spellings when you are trying to bash someone's spelling.

Well, there is no such thing as a federal "recall" of an elected person, so unless you want to go about working to amend the Constitution, have at it. In lieu of that, you have the ability every two years to vote out your local incumbent. Alas, no matter how much people say they hate the Congress (approval now is somewhere near historical lows), most people WILL in fact vote back in their local congress person.

It's the usual American voter hypocrisy; we claim to passionately think one thing while we habitually vote the opposite. It is part of why Americans are, politically, the laughing stock of the developed world. We seem to relish voting against are own interests time and time again. Sort of like the famous piece d'resistance of ignorance Tea Partier quote, who, while railing against the federal government trying to install universal health coverage vis a vis the Obamacare debate, held a sign that read, "Keep your hands off my Medicare."

The last aproval rating poll I saw for Congress showed them at 10%
So only 1 in 10 Americans are satisfied with Congress, yet the same old people continue to be voted in year after year. How is this possible?
