Ideally...We should get progress reports and be able to rate what reps have done for us.
We should issue them quarterly report cards.
Any low scores or failing grades should vacate their office.
You know, just like those minimum requirements teachers have for their students?
These guys should be tested certainly more than our students since they are working for us and in a position to affect us every day.
And we have a right to require pertinent information provided simply and clearly - I want it in my email. I don't want to "go to his web-sight" to see
what he's been up to. I want reports and updates and a handy reference daily or at least weekly.
And instead of Washington
springing things on me..."oh we changed the laws and are doing it like this now" I want to be consulted ahead of
time, I want them to get my permission, every time they scratch their arses. I want my opinion counted and weighed in on everything BEFORE they do it.
Wouldn't THAT be a refreshing change of pace?
I also think populated areas, cities, towns etc., can come up with, by a "collective majority," a list of projects and priorities they have or want to
see completed in their area. Ask residents...
A. What needs to be done?
B. How important is it to you?
And not vague things like 'change people'...concrete
projects like fix the old bridge, build a bigger library, design us a park for health and
exercise, or we need a crosstown parkway.
Finally prioritize these projects, find LOCAL (as possible) people to do it (don't leave it up to a small group of planners since they are all
corrupted). Get each bidders offer and information, research the company, then we the people decide which LOCAL company is best and cheapest. That
company should get the contract for the services we need by majority vote. In every case WE should decide what goods services and stores are best for
or built in our town, by MAJORITY VOTE.
Not in secret backroom dealings, bribery, nepotism or cronyism and handshakes. We should take it upon
ourselves to eliminate the lobbyist, the special interest, the middlemen, and get 'er done.
We waste lives, life and generations - arguing and fighting, watching the changing of the guards and demanding the same old "reasonable requests" from
year to year, getting nothing in return but manipulated, because the system is rigged against us.
