It really doesn't matter who you vote into congress and senate by their campaign promises....as soon as the lobbyist get their millions flying around it hits congress and the senate and goes right into their bank accounts, the government is then corrupted. Congressmen make $168,000 a year but they are worth a few million on top of that by the lobbyists. Also, Wall Street has a big influence in putting money in our government officials pocketbooks.

GET THE LOBBYISTS AND STOCK MARKET SPECULATORS OUT OF WASHINGTON AND THEN I'LL VOTE!!

EXACTLY!!!!!!! END THE FED ALREADY!

Sorry for the caps, but I was inspired by the post!

They may go in all cool and for the people and then their pockets get full, head gets full, and the people fall below the money God.

A peaceful walk around congress with billions of people demanding their jobs??

I mean.... How in the world do we do this??

Why not? Some people in congress are truely trying their best to fix the situation, blocked by those whom want to play politics verses be a statesman.

So is it fair to toss out the honest guy because your tired of his opposition?

And welcome to the issue

As much as I understand the frustration.

Consider it.

We toss out everyone..every single sitting congressional official.
Then what?
Then we put in new ones, whom will have the same outlook, self serving values, etc..because they will be representing the views of the community they sent up to being with.

This is like breaking a mirror because it keeps showing a person with messed up hair in it...no matter how many mirrors you break, your not seeing the issue.

Thank you for clarification. Not so much as conspiratorial paranoia as awareness on my part. I appreciate it.

Now: I shall sidle up my soap box and say a few things:

Folks, you have HALF of the right idea. An organized body. With a concise plan for the BETTERMENT of the United States. Backed by a parade of 5 million.

It doesn't have to be new folks in present positions. Be it a body of 5 citizens that are drawn by lottery every two years. These five now negotiate the judiciary and financial needs of a nation.

I have never made a government. But one must be prepared. The voluntary resignation of the standing government.

Don't b*tch. Fix IT.

I like your idea, I believe the best option available is to do it much like jury duty. But it must be done in public, live, with a complete and total openess that guarantees absolute integrity. So that everyone knows the game isn't rigged.

It has long been my oppinion, backed by 34 years of life experience, that those who want the job, are usually the wrong ones for it. In the military, the guy kissing all ass to achieve a promotion usually does not deserve or warrant the job, as he wants to be the boss so he can boss everyone around, not because he is good at it.

We need to "force" people that dnt want to be politicians to do the job, just like jury duty, as these are usually the best for the job, as they aren't in for personal gain, they are in it for the right reasons, doing it as a civic responsibility, to the betterment of all their brothers and sisters, on the great ship USS America.

we organize a mass vote for me on Tuesday Novenber 6th

Vote . thats a mass march that only has to go as far as the booth.

Vote for me because i will clean this house of corruption or

the political replacements will be bought off one by one

id think it would be harder to buy off one man who is accountable to the People than 51% of 486 people in the congress/senate/POTUS.

reply to post by inverslyproportional

i also like this idea along with a text message system to all people in place of a POTUS for final bill signature

I would think the best way would be to- have a buch of paper cards with the social of every single eligible citizen printed on them, one each. Than have cameras and as many people as would like to be present have a chance to look over them to verify authenticity, then drop them in a large tumbler and spin it for 1 minute, then have a preselected small child, no older then 10 years of age, randomly with a bare arm, reach in and extract the pre determined amount of cards one at a time. Until the quota for the next 2 year terms are fulfilled.

The only requirements I would place on senate or house seats would be, that they must be between the ages of 18 and 70, and that they have no persistent criminal history. As just because they made mistakes in their past doesn't mean they haven't learned from them, in fact a lot of former criminals have reformed and are now quite astute and wisened from their past experiences.

For the courts, all judges must be at least 50 but not older than 80 with at least 2 former convictions of nonviolent crimes, as they would be the best to judge the need of jail time, and length, having experienced the harshness of the system first hand. They would realise that 50 years for drug charges is retarded.

for the President, they would have to be between the ages of 40 and 65( as I now realise at 34 why young men are not allowed this position, to much piss and vinegar, mixed with too little experience and wisdom.)having served no less then 4 years of active duty( as they shouldn't be able to send our young to die if they haven't risked life and limb themselves). Special note- if a president sends more than 10,000 soldiers into any theater they must also be present in the theater, so as to maintain their perspective, as they are also in harms way, not comfy in the rear with the gear. If more then one theater contains the 10,000 plus number mentioned above, the President must rotate and spend equal time in each, never returning home until they do or his 2 year term is fulfilled.

Just as a starting position, sounds good to me, and I am absolutely willing to fullfill any and of these rquirements myself, as anyone wanting the job should be.

So, in effect your saying they should all be fired? Which is what I have always thought voting them out of office was doing.... "hey, look man, your not working out for us. so we "voted" in this new guy/girl.

So what! Did you know they still get paid even after they are voted out/fired. Just because they held the office.
They continue to recieve a salary....... But yet they are always talking about "fairness"

How about this: For any of you that havn't......

Start off by reading the Constituion Of these United States.
It clearly defines what The federal government is to do and not do. Put them back in the box.

Get control back to the states. Why do we even have states if the feds are going to run everything?

Do we really need a pyramid of governments with the same and opposing laws to bind us?

Let us get back to this "rule of law" everybody keeps preaching.

Truth is it is so far gone..... So many things that need fixed/restored. Sorry to say, pen and paper isn't going to fix a thing.

You will either start digging fox holes and filling sand bags....... or keep playing angry birds and posting on the internet how angry you are.

TPTB don't hear you and won't. Untill you/we draw a line in the sand for them to see.

They play on our differences. When is the last time you heard a Republican or Democrat say one uniting thing?

Nevermind, just keep watching the puppet show.

The articles of accoutability- would be the new constituition, and would be absolute.- no citizen is above the law, even the president himself will be arrested and tried in public court for his crimes.

Courts are open air, and subject to public scrutiny at all times, there is no such thing as a closed door agreement or decision, not under any situation.

The congress and senate, will face the most scrutiny of all, as they are hence forth the sole law makers of the country, and no law made by or interpreted as by either the executive or judicial branch shall override the wording of the laws passed by the senate and house.
Special note- no member of the senate or congress shall receive any compensation outside their sallaries and provided benefits at any time during their 2 year term, or they are immediately subject to life of hard labor sentences effective immediatley apon their quilty sentence.

Lastly- the citizens retain the right to overrule any and all decisions laws or rulings of any of the 3 branchs at any time on any subject, by a simple 2/3 popular vote. At any time a petition recieves 1,000,000 signatures, a mandatory citizens vote will be held on the following Monday, at noon central U.S. time. Failure to vote, will render your voting priveleges null and void for the remainder of the present 2 year election cycle.

The problem is the majority of Americans do not share your understanding or if they do they are too busy trying to survive to be bothered. Ironically the reason they are just trying to survive is because of these A-holes...

Also they are divided and fractionalized with BS and propaganda that plays to their selfish tendencies and prejudices...

There are excellent ideas here. Truly excellent.

This is a very turbulent time we live in. We have the tools, education and diversity that make up what we believe is America.

BILL OF RIGHTS

Amendment I
Freedoms, Petitions, Assembly

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Congress - 8% approval rating but 80% of Congresspeople get reelected every time.

There's an election in 7 weeks, ALL seats are up for grabs.

Make your voices heard, America, if you really want change.

Somehow, I'm thinking that those 80% will still be reelected.

Like that is going to matter? You think this would be the first time that people simply voted against any incumbent?

Fact is, your voting for other people who swim in the same pool.
