The question of whether or not it matters if the world "LIKES" BUSH or the U.S...makes no difference. When push comes to shove...who do you want on your side?
I hear/read so many NON AMERICANS complain about our corrupt gov't...what country or leader can you say you admire?
What "GREAT" country are you from and name your leader.
And when you name him/her, is the country a major player in world policy?...the answer will be NO for most of you.
Most of the great leaders in history all had one thing in common, the support of and an alliance with the United States.
If your RUSSIAN...no need to comment, lost the cold war, was kicked out of Afghanistan by rebels with slingshots.
China...give me a break, dictatorship, and copycat golf clubs.
Iran, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, or any Middle Eastern country...Your people blow themselves up...for virgins!!! Nuff said.
England...ALLY
Australia...ALLY
African nations...no influence, too poor...need food not weapons., France??? They only call when they need help and I think they're still upset that they are no longer a world power.
Germany...Nazi's defeated, great woman athletes, and make great cars...but no longer an influence.
Mexico...nuff said
Canada...Great strip clubs, a few marginal athletes, some great ones, and 2nd rate actors...nuff said
I could go on, but I think you get the point. Which of these countries would you put up against the U.S. when it comes to Economy, Quality of life, Freedom of Choice, Health Care, Income per capita, Military strength...again I could go on but its redundant. The United States is simply the greatest nation in the world and I think the fact that our population is the most diverse in the history of man...proves it. Habib doesnt come here because he hates America and because our govt is corrupt. Julio doesnt come here because its so great living in Tijuana. AGAIN...I could go on...but what for? SO ENOUGH WITH THE BUSH BASHING AND ALL THAT NONSENSE ABOUT OUR SO CALLED CORRUPT GOV'T.
And for you "liberal" blowhards...name one "LIBERAL" president to have been elected in the past 20+ years. Clinton...clinton ran on a moderate platform and was supported in his 2nd term by a Republican Majority. He was a MODERATE compared to Kerry. Carter was your last great president folks and we dont need to get into that guys record to know that it was a waste of 4 years and a disaster for the country.

The answer should be NO for everyone, including the US. No one nation should take it upon themselves to set world policy. I don't want America to be the leader of the world. I want it to just be my country. The same as I don't want to make your (or your family's) problems mine, I don't want America to make the rest of the world's problems mine. This is where trouble begins. This isn't the United States of the World, it's the United States of America.
Get that confused, and you're asking for your downfall.

But why????? Makes me sick to see that THIS country is Always the center of attraction for everyone! And it's ABSOLUTELY NOT BETTER THAN ANY OTHER NATION!!! Any way....I feel SOOOOOOOO good in Canada, we watch americans argue, being patriotics to a moron, believing in the american dream (that is what exactly? Money, fame, power)! We have a good laugh

That's the problem. We haven't been united for quite some time. Sure, our gov't says we are, and all states are bound by federal regulations, but the American people are divided....divided on safety, drugs, terrorism, war, politics, social services, immigration laws, taxes, funding, economy, foreign policy, morals and principles, etc. The list goes on forever. In fact, is there anything that we really are united in, except the forced rule of our federal government? I don't see it. It's a charade with a lot of lip service.

So to sum it all up, the world dont like Bush. Most of this country dont like Bush. Some of Bush's relatives dont like Bush.

ATS votes for kerry for president.

I believe the polls which have Bush ahead are bogus anyway. When the day comes, in spite of the trickery, Kerry will prevail.
Im sure it'll go to the Supreme Court and then.....

Bush will be announced as the re elected prez.
I love life in these, here United States.

who says the world hates us? are you perhaps too eager to believe the liberal US media? that is your choice.

the same "world" you and others claim have such hatred for the US, they are clamouring to enter our borders, to live here, to taste freedom.

they see the US as free, and know it is so, yet do not understand the way to go about achieving such freedom in their own country, so the easy thing to do, is emigrate to the Great United States of America.

you need to lift the argument. The "hate us because we're free" motto, sounds so ridiculously juvenile. I assure you. The world despises Bush. Ring a random number in Europe, Australiasia. Not a soul outside the US has any time for him. I cannot recall another President that anyone outside the US had ANY opinion on or feeling for. He is ruining your country. ASK ANY NON-AMERICANS HERE. Try it.

Beacause of mass sex weapons!!
We laught so much in France... And cryed for the politic of US that became sex or no, instead of politic Clinton would have done in serenity (I don't know about cleverness or not) if stupid journalists had not talk about this only and only this, and the opposition, only that to attack on.

Clinton had a brain, W, only propaganda techtinics and money. W has unherit those technics of Prescott Bush and George Herbert Walker, you remembers, members, the Hitler's financiers who made Adolf so powerfull, from 1928 (they offered him a castle for his nazi party when nobody wanted to trust anymore Hitler and his hates) and 1942 (they were discovered managing Auschwitz and the work of the jews who build the nazi army and were dying at their work of slave, and a few in gaz rooms). Today, Israel is still used by the Na(tive) Zi(onist) (Bush, Rockefeller, Rothchild, Hitler... They say they are the real jews that became christians, Templar, Freemasson and (it's cosin) Skull and Bones, but they are not the whole Freemassonery international, but too powerfull to be stoped and the thing is very complexe, very), but this is an other story in witch the Bush and the Walker famillies have always been the recipients...

Dark side of Freemassonery and Skull and bones.

Azheat - so what I get from your post about us other countries is "The United States is the best country in the world so you other, inferior countries should just shut up, be grateful that we deign protect you, and always remember to feel sorry that you weren't born American."

It's not U.S. bashing. It's not bashing the American nation. It's criticism of the policy of the U.S. government abroad. What, should we just shut up because we're not worthy enough of giving our opinion? Are the Americans the only ones entitled to criticize other countries?

Just thought this might add a little to the discussion.

- I want to know how a trillion dollar surplus disappears in less than a year. I would honestly like to be informed.

- Lets analyze the word Liberal. The root means freedom. It could also be argued that the word (disconnected with political context) could me progressive. As an american, I can say that our country has alot of growing up to do. Wouldent we want to progress our society so that it is on par with the maturaty of western europe?

- The problem with the US right now is more than just Bush, the whole society has to mature significantly I think. It's in the teenage "I hate you dad" stage. It's rather like a 2 year old puppy. It has the body of a full grown dog, but its mind is still that of a puppy. It has alot more power than it realizes, and so when it hurts things it doesnt know that its hurting them... Just like a puppy.

- The reason I dont like Bush, is that he isn't even focusing on a very important subject in my opinion. The EU is superior when it comes to their agreements with the US in the WTO. The EU is modernizing eastern europe at a managable, yet fairly quick speed. Their economy is, in my opinion, just about to hit the turning point (5-10 years from now) to where its economy will aceelerate significantly. Meanwhile the US's economy has yet to catch any wind in its sails, despite the insistance of its leaders. Not to mention, the economy is in no way prepped for the takeoff that everyone wants to happen. Even though we are friendly with the EU, you think it would be wise for the US to start thinking about being more competitive with them. After I graduate from university, I will probably move to the EU. Besides, its kinda strange being the only one in my family who doesn't have a thick british accent.

- I live in the US. I was born in chicago, but my mum is from Brighton, England, and my dad is from Swansea, Wales. I have travelled throughout europe on many occasions, and have been to every country in europe except the scandanavian ones, poland, and the balkans. Just so you know where my perspective comes from.

Tell me, If you like "BUSH" and "CHENEY"' and that gang of clown, why don't you go fight and fire on innocent people in IRAK!!!! Brainwashed, u r a brainwashed person..U have a LOT to learn on this earth babe

Ameliaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Why should we worry about what the world cares about us when they hate us and want to see us fail. Especially the terrorists. Bush has done an excellent job in standing his ground. Kerry is a B(*&CH who will bend over for countries like China before he will serve the US people. The rest of the world is mad because we are taking the terrorists out.

Only people who work hard get the CASH that you so eloquently assume that everyone has. Laziness is not rewarded in America. If you are lazy you will not get the cash, unless you are collecting welfare.

Are you delusional? Are you posting drunk? Or are you simply plain ignorant? The US have under the leadership of the Bush Administration attacked and invaded another naiton with no credible evidence to support the claims of WMD's, an 'imminent threat' to the free world or Al Qaida-ties and you think the rest of the world is bitching because you're 'on top'? Your history definition equals the last 100 years. Most great leaders in HISTORY more than just a hundred years ago did have alot in common, namely the killing of alot of people. A great leader is not defined by a country he is ruling.

You can't compare Bush, as his administration is the leader, not him. He's a media persona that makes decisions based on whats given to him. The real decisions and leaders are the administration. A simple example of a leader would be a 2nd Lieutenant who leads his men on a mission in combat. Somebody who runs the show - Bush hardly qualifies in this aspect. As an economic country we are leading the world. In electronics Japan leads the world. I'm sure many countries can tell you what they are leading the world in.

In government leadership LOL the U.S is not leading the world. There are many places to live on the planet bub where you will enjoy life and have all the same freedoms you do in America and more. Just ask the Canadians or the Netherlands. Again ignorance is bliss.
