Sorry, but no.

There are people who do change their orientation'

They are rare.

Sometimes a homosexual will marry a woman and be loyal to her for the rest of his life. And sometimes a hetero will turn gay alter on in life.

However, this is NOT a typical thing.

And no, I am not talking about the formerly gay because of the Christian stuff either.

If you want an example from media, Willow, from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, turned gay.

She liked men then all of a sudden she liked women.

Without heterosexuals to lead the way, homosexuals would never have formulated an idea like "marriage".

Shakes head.

It scares me sometimes - - how absurdly creative some can be in their homophobia.

I thought that was scientific logic, not fear. Why do homosexuals feel that anyone who uses reason and logic is a homophobe?

There is enough written and pictorial history to show same sex attraction has existed since early man.

There is historical evidence of same gender marriages.

To take the arrogant attitude that homosexuals had to be lead by heterosexuals is not logical - - its homophobic.

Your premise is flawed. Nature wouldn't create a creature that could not reproduce. To ensure survival of species is paramount in nature. Homosexuality is a choice.

I would list it more as an abnormality to nature's intended sexual responses, and choice has little to do with that. This is not calling it bad...or good for that matter, just that it is a factor in 5% of our population. We can also call a person with a 70 or 170 IQ as abnormalities too for neither is quite what nature's blue print intended.

Not that I'm aware of - - and I've been following this subject for about 20 years.

I do support the "sliding scale" - - that there are degrees on how hetero or homosexual a person is. And I do believe most people fall somewhere close to the middle.

Every BI person I've discussed this with - - said they were very comfortable with both genders -- but ALL of them said they were more attracted to one or the other. There is no 100% true BI - - meaning not having a preference to one gender or the other - - even if its slight. That I'm aware of.

Behavior is different then orientation. Sexual Orientation is how the body is hard wired. It does not change naturally.

Can people choose their behavior? Absolutely!

I know there is a well known Christian "leader" who has chosen to live a straight life. He is very open and honest about this - - to help others like himself. He loves his wife - he loves his family. But - he is very honest that attraction to same sex never goes away. It is something he struggles with every day.

Legitimate Christian (who believe homosexuality to be a sin) - - counseling have changed their methods. They now admit it can not be changed - - - but a homosexual can choose to agree that its a sin - - be celibate - - or make the choice to live a straight life with a woman.

Nice retort. Look everyone has an opinion based on something. What is your opinion based on?

We are all mutations from the original humans.

Blond hair - green eyes - left handed - red hair - - - are all abnormalities.

But just like sexual orientation - - - we are "born that way" (unless you're a friend of Clairol).

Depends on what they say and how they say it.

If they support Equal Rights - - even if they don't understand homosexuality - - NO.

Remember that superiority complex I mentioned...there it goes again,

Fact is Fact

Knowledge is knowledge - - - which I took the time to learn.

You want to call that superiority complex - - go right ahead.

I don't know if it applies anymore - - as our society keeps changing - evolving - - maybe even de-evolving.

But the premise is married = family = stable society.

She just can't help herself, it is almost like an OCD with her, she also has to have the last word as well or she is an absolute mess. Another sign that things are not working right upstairs.
Seriously Anne, if you had the ability to look at your own posts objectively, you would see a pattern that shows your superiority complex is really out of hand.
If it wasn't. you would not have responded to my post with a reply intended to show me why you are superior, but you just could not help yourself....you had to get that last word in.
It is all very amusing and interesting at the same time..............please continue

And this is why we can't have nice things on ATS. No one can talk nice when they're hiding behind a keyboard. Were this a skype discussion, I doubt folks would lash out with all the mean little attacks.

I disagree with Annee on this topic, and we have discussed it somewhat on this thread, but neither of us have stooped to personal attacks. In fact, reading through Annee's posts, she has remained civil throughout. You may disagree about the presentation of her position, but you don't have to drag things down to this level.

I for one go into these type of discussions with the firm belief I will never win over the opposition. I hope that through intelligent discussion we can at least find some common ground and better understand the POV of others. Lurkers who read these are impacted the greatest. For every post, there might be 5 or 10 readers who never chime in. EVERYONE'S attitude reflect back on the 'team' we align with.

Facts and knowledge can be influenced by personal beliefs and bigotries masquerading as facts and knowledge.

Many people assume what must be true for them must be true for everybody else and must be made to be true.

If most people thought the other way, that is didn't care how another person lived their life and minded their own business, things like homosexual marriage wouldn't be an issue.

But too many people on both sides of this issue have the crap attitude of "it has to be my way or the highway and I'll take it to the government to force my way onto you if you don't comply" crap.

And that is really what is ruining America today.

Why we lose things like common courtesy and respect. Because arrogance demands respect but never returns it.

It really doesn't have to be this way.

But most people just don't care.
