Yes we are complex to say the least. Evolution is complete bs. The big bang theory is laughable. It seems to me that the most likely reason for our existence is that we were created by more intelligent beings. Its funny that most people dont even give it a thought.

I mean, if you really want to get technical, how would you describe a flurry of atoms without knowing what each individual particulate is named? I'd probably call it dust, star dust, at that. And, a semblance of atoms don't just equate to life, that passage is just referring to the essence most believe is the soul. Tons of atoms + soul = living man. Also, that quote said THE man not all men, should probably invest more time in selecting your quotes.

If there is another race of beings playing creator, like we are, but they're better at it than us, doesn't make them the God everyone is talking about.. It just makes them A creator, not The creator. At some point, thermodynamics can't have applied otherwise, our universe truly is infinite, and will always exist regardless what we do. And the concept that our universe isn't infinite is equally threatening. To me, it's a lot nicer to dream there's a God and a bikini lounge on some cloud somewhere than deal with either, the complexities, and implied impossibilities of an infinite universe, or the heartbreak of a finite universe.

The thing is when i was growing up in school they taught me we came from monkeys, nothing about common ancestors. I have taking this knowledge in, when people come off hostile how is one not supposed to look bad, it's a shame.

As per usual we have a poster who come with quotes from the bible and talk about evolution in a way that indicates that the poster hasn't read the bible and doesn't understand evolution.

There is just ONE sentence in the bible that sinks the whole idea of an omnipresent and all knowing god.

Genesis 3:9
"And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?"

Being all knowing he surely would have known. This is like a psychic wanting you to make an appointment.
The sentence should have been something like.

"And the Lord God called onto Adam, and said onto him, Come forth. Thou canst not hide. I see thine bare bum behind yonder bush".

A huge number of people have seen UFO's.

If we are a science project, then couldn't the person who ran the science project (i.e., our "creator") be considered "God".

Personally, I believe we are a product of nature -- NOT artificially conceived/constructed by another intelligent being. Life in the universe evolved from organic compounds that -- after millions of years of chemical reactions -- stumbled upon reactions that would tend to duplicate themselves.

That being said, and even though I myself am not particularly religious, I know enough that most religious people do NOT take the bible literally. Oddly enough, my idea that live evolved naturally from organic compounds is pretty similar to saying that life come from dust.

As others have pointed out, evolution does NOT say we came from monkeys. Rather, humans and Monkeys come from the same ancestor. Natural selection can be seen working today. It seems logical that natural selection, over many years, will cause a species to gradually change.

Even in the Big Bang Theory, there is room to have had something before the Big bang.

The Big Bang theory does NOT say that something came from nothing. If you think that, then you do not understand the theory. The Big Bang Theory does NOT explain where the original singularity came from. There are sub-hypotheses associated with the Big Bang that say that there was another universe before our current one started from the Big Bang. In fact, there could have been countless universes before ours. That idea of universes existing before our own CAN be consistent with the Big Bang Theory.

By the way, if our current universe was ALWAYS here forever, then space should be completely white with the light of the infinite number stars that must have ever existed. The photons of light from those infinite numbers of stars that must have existed in an infinitely old universe would still be reaching the Earth. That light would be literally everywhere; and the night sky would be bright with light -- not mostly black.

That's one easy way to know that our current universe was not always around.
