I see that there are a lot of small quakes happening around Brawley, CA; I am just wondering if there is some fracking going on around that area.

Haven't heard of any, but the new Geo-Thermal plant went on line in March at the Salton Sea, maybe their activity started something. Plus it says "The company has already begun test drilling for a second plant of similar capacity that will also provide power to Salt River Project, Watson said.

But I have to wonder it the Volcano going off in Mexico may not have effected the faults in CA.

We get the effect of the smoke from the fires going on there so I guess it is close enough.

I have lived in Northern CA my whole life. I can also see beautiful Mount Konocti from my backyard. The Lake County area and especially CA are highly active with earthquakes. Its nothing out of the norm, its just what is. Mount Konocti is in Lake County. We also have a huge Geo Thermal plant that uses the volcanic area to its advantage. Its normal for us to have dozens or hundreds of earthquakes a day. Its just most of them are so small you can’t feel them. Its not a swam or storm of earthquakes for us, its normal for this area.

As for the reason of the earthquakes is up in the air. Some will say its because it’s a volcanic area or is it because the Geo Thermal plant. I think it’s a combination of the both. I never understood the idea of drilling a huge hole into a highly volcanic/seismic area and shooting water down it to create steam. Thus disrupting and upsetting an already unstable environment. I think the whole process creates earthquakes, how could it not.

my internet is moving oddly slow so i haven't read through everything but the LA Times is saying this swarm is the strongest in 30 years. i think that's a little cause for concern

I could be wrong, but Im starting to see EQs in Northern Cali that seem to be along the San Andreas. Anyone noticing these? They are small, but they were worried this swarm could possibly spread....

I seen on the news this morning they had a swarm of 300 total EQ's Sunday and then 2 bigger ones in the mag 5 range. Keeping an eye on this story!

For those of you who keep an open mind, I'll say this:

The planet is adjusting to new energy that it is receiving. These physical effects it displays could be lessened if you stop worrying so much, about whatever. The opposite could also happen.

I'm not in disagreement at all, however where do you think this new energy is coming from and why do you think it's new?

Could this activity have something to do with the blue moon in a couple of days?

I'm going to give you some advise, take it or leave it.

I was into all that new age crap and found out the hard way that it was satanic or of evil origin. All that energy and peace and light is BS.

No, a blue moon is just a normal full moon in the moons cycle. It just happens that every once in a while, there are 2 full moons in a month, the 2nd being called a blue moon. Has no more effect on the earth than a regular full moon does.

Well a Blue Moon is nothing more then a full moon, and we have a full moon every month so i doubt it.

I live in San Diego and yesterday I was at Macy's when I noticed necklaces moving and after we got in the car and left, people started going outside of the stores.

EQ's are nothing new here in Cal but these swarms are unusual. If you talk about San Andreas or "The Big One" to locals they will ignore you and walk away as it is a hot internet topic that got old long long ago. But I believe that this is a bit weird but so far we only felt one or two here in San Diego since yesterday so don't be so paranoid.

Someone may have said this already, so please pardon any redundancy.

It is actually a good thing if there are a lot of smaller quakes. This usually means (if I remember my geology classes correctly!) that the earth is releasing the tension against the plates in small bursts rather than it building up into one holy heck of an earthquake. I remember geologists back in the day (early 1990s) were wanting to figure out how they could make the little quakes happen in order to prevent the big ones.

So I will remain hopeful that these smaller scale quakes are actually preventing a major amount of destruction. I could, of course, be wrong on this, but time will tell.

Wow, as a long time seeker of my soul. A tenacious truth tester by nature. I'm still not convinced with what you are saying.

It may seem as if willing, the Crowley concept ill call it, but I don't believe it is the same. If willing a positive outcome for life is evil, then I guess we all should be willing positivity for ourselves only anyway. Making both ideas even more right to do just as such.

So here we have it, in a thread about the BIG ONE.. I grew up in VTA (805) and if the big one hits. I'll be extremely unhappy as everyone I have grown up with have a high rate of perish. So. I'm going to think good things about the little ones being a good sign. It would tickle my fancy to know others were as well.
