He's already been proven a fraud. Just check my signature. Not so long ago, he "predicted" that a huge tsunami was going to take out California and part of Australia with in a few days. I think that was a couple weeks ago any way. Nice call out, Mitch.

I haven't looked through every post so I'm not sure if this has been posted yet but Brawly, California has a news article out regarding their swarm of quakes.

www.foxnews.com...

USGS seismologist Lucy Jones said earthquake swarms are characteristic of the region, known as the Brawley Seismic Zone.

"The area sees lots of events at once, with many close to the largest magnitude, rather than one main shock with several much smaller aftershocks," Jones said.

The last major swarm was in 2005, following a magnitude-5.1 quake, she said.

Sunday's quake cluster occurred in what scientists call a transition zone between the Imperial and San Andreas faults, so they weren't assigning the earthquakes to either fault, Graves said.

Also, I can't tell how many dots that is but it looks hellacious. It must have been hundreds.

This just in....

A STRONG earthquake measuring 7.4 has shaken an area in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of El Salvador, the US Geological Survey says.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has issued a tsunami warning for Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama and Mexico, though it's not yet known if a tsunami has been generated.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, authorities said this afternoon.

The epicentre of the quake, which occurred at 2.37pm), was located 111km south of the city Puerto El Triunfo in El Salvador, according to the USGS.

Not defending the guy. Just playing devil's advocate here, but he never established any dates or timeframes in any of his posts. The only thing he stated is that it was "really close", which is something pretty subjective and could be days or months.

The other post where he allegedly predicted Japan's tsunamis, he indeed set a date and apparently got it right. If he is a fraud or not, it's a different issue. But regarding his last post there regarding California, nothing was established that could prove him as being a fraud or wrong.

Just saying...

Just read an update on RSOE and it looks like this swarm might lead into something bigger afterall:

Thomas Jordan, director of the USC-based Southern California Earthquake Center, called the activity a "very active swarm" - something not unusual for the southern edge of the San Andreas Fault, which has seen similar occurrences in recent years. This swarm could continue to rumble the region for a few days, Jordan added. "It's been pretty productive so far," he said. "It's a vigorous one. We got some pretty good-sized events." As data continued to roll in, Jordan said, scientists would study the swarm to learn how the sequence developed and what effect it could have on the fault. "We're always concerned where there is significant seismic activity because that means there is a higher probability of having more seismic activity," he said.

Hope things will calm down there in a couple of days. If they don't and you always wanted to move out of the west, now would be the time.

have to agree with you there.

i would not pay any attention to predictions.

but the guy had only said that a warning could be close. to be aware.

its fine to criticize the guy, but to start making crap up , thats a bit sad.

i guess people just get so excited these days about pointing at people and telling everyone , 'look they were wrong!' . I guess if it was a few hundred years ago you could take them out and stone them or burn them like witches. Now they just get hate on the net.

Feel free! I'll play back. He claims he made that prediction.

This is all speculation here but the only people that defended him in that thread were accounts that were made THAT day and only posted in that thread, many of them being deleted, including somebody who claimed to be his cousin "EricCoombes". We aren't allowed to go further in to this, due to ATS T&C but I'm sure most accounts were either him or this cousin figure.

His predictions are normally 104 hours before the event, that is his theme. So, I'd definitely say 104 hours has passed since it was called out. Especially, since he used the term "very shortly" not "really close". Many ATS members also believe he was using a fake Facebook generator to create his call out of the Japanese Tsunami. Evidence of this would be by the fact that in the California/Australia thread, his cousin (possibly him) would only post screen shots of Facebook and no links to the actual Facebook in question.

You don't need hard evidence when common sense will take care of it for you.

Being the kind of guy I am, I like to plot one set of things against another and so I have been plotting depths against both latitude and longitude in separate graphs.
These are as of 0000 GMT on the 27th August for 6 days previously. Anything that is after that in this area will not show on these graphs.

Now, before we go any further, there are some fairly weighty opinions on here who say that the depth measurements mean very little - especially when the quake is out to sea and away from measuring stations, however I like to plot it anyway in case... and in spite of what they say. Partly because they work for the government, and partly I believe that there are many scientists who use or quote this depth data and so why shouldn't I too. It must mean something otherwise USGS would not offer it. This is my reasoning, BUT, dont get your knickers in a bunch looking at this data - OK?

A lot of these are 20Km or less and are centered around 33N and 115.5W moving down and NW is how I interpret these points (although they are not time sorted)
I present these two graphs for interest only and they may not "mean" anything. For some reason I cannot upload them to my upload area..

Depth graphs for the last 6 days around LA California to 0000 GMT 27th Aug 12

You're not getting it. He posted on his facebook that he does not have an account anywhere else. He isn't predicting. he already said he just knows people working on HAARP or something. im not saying he's not a liar or not. but obviously in the other threads they were all trolls, ericcoombs and whatnot. there is no prediction for cali/australia so i have no idea what anyone is talking about. fact is, yes he did predict japan, you can look at his facebook history. he gave a warning that he'd give the real countdown soon for cali/aus. that was it.

now lets go back to this thread. its according to most of the articles that you guys posted, this is normal activity for the region, in that they experience large clusters of earthquakes. 1970s being that last big swarm. USGS already issued a statement on this. Earthquakes happen everyday, it is normal. Having this many though means its either releasing pressure, or building up for a big one? chances are its releasing pressure, just by the pure statistical data that is on the USGS website. just live your life and be vigilant of your surroundings. is there going to be a big one? maybe...but history tells us not likely, at least not yet.

maybe the earth is doing this so it doesn't release one or two massive ones.....

just heaps of little ones to relieve pressure.

Yup Brawley fault and it crosses the plate boundary ate a convergent section. See my post on Quake Watch.

As to whether this is uncommon or not i could not say, but bear in mind that Baja California in 2010 has 25,000 earthquakes so there is a little way to go yet

so not unusual just I DO NOT REMEMBER every having this many this long. It was one then done..

Bear in mind also that many of these are below the felt level thus you might not remember so many having no access to the sort of equipment we have now. Just a thought as to why you may not remember.

Further to my post in Quake Watch I have collected the ANSS data for a 50km diameter section around Brawley

delta=32.99,-115.57,0,25 was the parameters used

Whilst the depth trend is apparently up, the current episode is deeper which makes it tectonic in my opinion.

I will post some numbers shortly but so far as I am counting up it looks as if this is a 7 or 8 year occurrence that lasts about 12 months, but don't quote me on that until I have finished.

There could be many more to come if that is the case.

How has he been proven a fraud. This is what he said... From earlier this month...

Ok everyone, you've been warned of what's to come, we are getting extremely close to the 104 hour tsunami warning. I strongly advise that if you live on the east coast of NSW and west coast of USA, have your evacuation gear ready to go as soon as possible. I said on March 11 that California would be next after Japan's countdown... Sydney's earthquake will be magnitude 9.5, California's earthquake will be magnitude 9.6, followed by two 9.4's, all of these tsunamis will be created in the same exact hour
