i have heard that before that the mark of the beast is worshiping on Sundays .so all the Christians that worship on Sundays will go to hell and be Satan's slaves .
It seems a little bit harsh as most people don't know when the true sabbath is including me

the real sabbath is friday as far as I know.
also; the mark is up for interpretation as well. i'm going to reserve my opinion for now. i don't like that specific attention

edit; At this point we are in the birth pangs. very similar to 1930s europe. We know they love to wear different costumes for different days

Why do liberals hate a woman dead for 30 years? If I hated Thelonious Monk, who also died in 1982 just like Ayn Rand, people would probably think I'm sick in the head. But with Ayn Rand, there is always some new reason to hate her, like because Wrong Paul (Ryan) is a fan, so now we have to call Ayn Rand the whore of babylon? Just once I wish an Ayn Rand bashing thread would actually engage in a discussion of her works. But alas, that would require reading one of her books, and Atlas Shrugged is reaaallllyyy long. Oh well, maybe next time.

I read Ayn Rand's books and her philosophy stinks of elitism.

She is also a hypocrite because she staunchly advocated personal responsibility all the while taking social welfare and taxpayers help because of her smoking addiction and the resulting health problems. Personality responsibility my butt!

I don't hate Ms. Rand; I just think she was a hypocritical fool. I also think the same of those that follow her dogma.

Why would anyone hate Thelonious Monk?

People hate Ayn Rand because the Republicans made her a God to put on a pedestal. People like Glenn Beck, Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, Koch Brothers the list goes on. They made her a target. They tried to make her the god of a new religion. Like L Ron Hubbard and Scientology. Ayn Rand was going to be the god of Objectionism. Just say no to everything.

Id be interested in hearing you spark the conversation on her works..,.

her philosophy was pretty much fulfillment of individual desiree is the only relevant and rational expression of the human.... to prove her right I would have killed her before she wrote any books,,.,..,

You have no idea what her books are about if you think they are elitist. How is it that a former philosopher works at a hamburger stand if he is an elitist? (from Atlas Shrugged, Hugh Atkins character)

Saying she takes welfare is like trying to fault ron paul for taking social security, that HE PAID INTO! I don't know much about Rand's personal life but welfare is forced on us, so taking it is not hypocritical, especially when it is our money. And remember she was also a tax payer, unlike mitt and obama's staff, so how she is the hypocrite, (she's dead btw) and the living tax moochers are not hypocrites is something I will never understand.

This is laughable. Why all the Ayn Rand hate? Her books are some of the best advocates for freedom and free enterprise we have. And they have become very prophetic as we descend into socialist hell. The other two clowns don't even belong in the same sentence with her.

Also Paul Ryan might claim to be a fan of hers but his voting record proves otherwise. So to associate him with her and hate her for it is just small minded and stupid.

When are people going to stop living in the past and trying to emulate a book and system like the Bible that failed miserably... How about writing your own new scriptures for our time instead of constantly trying to repeat the failures of the past?

Except most people, like Ron Paul and Paul Ryan, have both stated they do not believe in objectionism. Yet you can still appreciate her works of fiction without believing in her philosophy. So she is a fictional writer first, philosopher a distant second. In fact almost no one believes in her objectionism.

Atlas Shrugged is a good story, entertaining, provocative

It was also highly prophetic for predicting the trend of socialism in the 1950's.
It features a strong lead female character, which contrasts with her other work the fountainhead, something liberals SHOULD appreciate. She is also Jewish, so how do liberals have so much hatred for a jewish female writer whose characters embody uber feminism? Maybe that is just it, she teaches women to be a bit too independent.

You need to read the links. She despised SS, medicare etc. and took it just the same. That's not personal responsibility no matter how you slice it. That's blatant and obvious hypocrisy.

Read the link this time.

I don't agree with everything ayn rand the person said or did, in fact she defended Israel over Palestine. Still, her fictional works are great regardless.

As I previously stated, she was a tax payer, so how is it that taking welfare is being hypocritical? See it doesn't make sense, if welfare is bad, then don't defend it. But if you like welfare, why is it bad to get welfare especially if it is your money you are getting back!

How is using social programs she openly hated being independent. She should have put her philosophy where her mouth was and shunned what she so vociferously despised whether she paid into the programs or not.

Here's more evidence of her hypocrisy...

She and Rush had a lot in common...both junkies!!

You would expect a neo nazi womanizer to hate Ayn Rand faster than liberals do, considering she is a jewish woman. And then the liberals fault her for taking welfare which is designed FOR EVERYONE, especially the sick. Then liberals say she was a smoker. Oh, but we can't fault a scantily clad woman for getting raped? So suddenly personal responsibility matters when it comes to Ayn Rand? It would make sense for republicans to hate her, shes a female, jewish, independent, a smoker, a free thinking anarchist, a writer, a philosopher, but when liberals hate her, it just boggles the mind. Why do they hate her? Because if we really did follow her principles, we would not be living in a nanny state. So Ayn Rand hatred proves liberal hypocrisy (though not the only example), because they would rather burn a jewish woman writer then abandon their nanny state .

The welfare argument is used against ron paul

some no name news anchor: hey ron paul, you accept social security, you're a hypocrite, right?

Rp: no, that is my money I paid in through forced taxation

Some guy: but, you don't like welfare...

Rp: but it's my money...

Some guy:....

Rp: I also pay more in NOW to ss than I get back.

Some guy: okay, now time for a commercial break.

How in the holy hell can you not see that when she criticized others for doing what she was doing. That's not hypocrisy to you?

www.thefreedictionary.com...]

It's the same as Rush popping pills and being addicted all the while criticizing pot smokers.
