The only diffence is one has control of whether it leads to parenthood and the other doesn't as it currently stands.

Well honestly the world would be a much better place if women and men waited until they have married. Otherwise I agree with the rest.

The pro-life position isn't about men having rights over women's reproductive organs...it's about advocating for rights of all living humans...including unborn humans.

Well you seem to have stumbled into the wrong thread because im talking about a woman's right to control her reproductive organs. That right shouldn't be taken away because she is pregnant or because the father wants her to carry the child to term.

It's a very simple position...

It really is. Her body, her choice.

one side advocates for the legal murder of innocent humans...and one is against the legal murder of innocent humans.

Not talking about abortion, talking about a woman's right to control her reproductive organs.

I feel comfortable with my position...I don't even have to make any justifications for it or try to dehumanize the unborn human to make myself feel better...that's not the case with people who support abortion.

I thought it was about pregnancy? Pregnancy is something that arises from a variety of situations, not just consensual sex between married partners. Maybe I missed something in the OP.

The "progressive agenda" has always been mimicking and poking away at a certain group in society. At this point, IMO, saying that the mothers' rights trump a babys' rights, is just prejudice. Nobody knows when the SOUL officially enters the fetus, and it's futile to even discuss it anyways because this issue isn't abortion, it's selfishness at the core of humanity.

While I'm happy for your son that you stepped up to the plate, there's something to be said for thinking ahead...unless you or the woman is sterile, there is a chance that birth control will fail, and then it's the actions of the parents that determines the future of the child. He can't escape the fact that his mother didn't want him. He has to come to terms with that. It's terrific that he's got a supportive father, but it's appalling that his mom was insufficiently invested in the concept of being a mother to begin with. "Cute"? She thought it was "cute"?

It's a major life-changing event, and not a chance that should be taken lightly. Good on you for providing and being responsible. Now, if only you'd done so with a woman of stronger character who had a track-record for tenacity and determination....you might have a fully-populated "family".
