Yeah I also have never heard of that 2-4 days, I have heard that women like a couple days maybe 4 or 5 will be the time they are most fertile not only when they can get pregnant....I think he got them mixed up lol.

why is government even involved in this?? A woman should be allowed to kill babies at their leisure. Whether it be because they are promiscuous, not ready financially, unready emotionally, victim of contraceptive failure., or victims of a crime.

They have to live with the consequences of their actions. Give them the power to decide who enters this world.

The amount of unreported rapes and assaults on the reservation I come from is astounding. Some women are too afraid of a backlash. If a man is reported to have raped or beaten a woman, his family might step in and start threatening and harassing the woman so she will keep her mouth shut. Her and her family might be threatened. In some cases, if a woman wants to report it, and is afraid, she has to get to a safe house or undisclosed location.

The idiocy of what is coming out of Tom Akins mouth gives way to more rapists claiming that the child they created is not really theirs, since women can't get pregnant from rape.

The ignorance that a woman can't conceive from the stress of rape, is just what they want to use to push their agenda. And what in the hell is a "legitimate" rape anyway. Who are they to define that for a woman.

Uh huh... because all of those things are the same.

You'll notice one of them is a violation of a persons human dignity - the others were choices.



And to answer your question directly. The reason governments pass laws on matters like this is to protect the majority of Americans from extremists.

I accept that not all people see things as I do and I respect their opinions - and their rights to those opinions. Do you think Akin would say the same in reply?

Or, would he simply mandate his ideologies?

The comment is a little brash, but the reality of this is, contraceptives fail, women get pregnant, and some do not want to carry the baby to term and adopt the child out. A woman's uterus does not belong to anyone else, it should be her private choice to make, and no one should stand in her way.

I would not have an abortion unless it was absolutely necessary to preserve my life, as I have another child to raise. I want that option open for myself and other women though. What if we started telling men what to do with their bodies? Think that would fly? Nope!

Exactly. No one is making laws based on Biden's chains, Obama's 57-states or Palin's many gaffes. It's an entirely different thing to suggest that women who get raped can somehow WILL themselves not to get pregnant IN ORDER TO make laws against a woman's right to her own medical care and reproductive choices.

If what this man said was true, there would be ZERO abortions, because we could just "think it out of there".

And ........is it really a matter of choice? In China women are forced to abort - they have no such thing as a "choice." On the contrary, America women condemn their children to death voluntarily as though it were the right and proper thing to do. In China and in America the practice of infanticide will come back to haunt each nation - in a big way. This behavior is actually the mark of the end of a civilization. Think about that for a moment before you assent to such things. This goes for men as well as women.
