Because MTV's programming is garbage.

That may be true.... but why would they place a program on the air that wasn't making money?

I would have to agree about the Disney Princesses and media, I watched all that good stuff as a little girl but was not damaged by it. I actually came from a family that split when I was very young, my father lived somewhat wealthy and my mom poor. I had both sides of life, never rich but somewhat sheltered. However, I am very humble and low maintenance and don't expect much from life except for happiness. The riches do not bring you happiness, you bring you happiness. Being a princess would literally make me sick, but I am treated very well by my BF and he treats me very well. I am very blessed even though we live in a shack that has no running water or closet space. I clean, cook, he is a chef and we have a beautiful garden we created with our own hands and only pay 400 bucks for all of it monthly. Its perfect and I love it.

I've met very few women like that where I live in Oregon. I think it's your geographic location perhaps. If you are considering a mail order bride I think there are bigger issues here.

It's Disney movie syndrome. It affects everyone, from mothers to children; and yes it's annoying! I have seriously considered trying to find some sort of attractive tribal woman in a third world nation because anyone with access to a TV culture becomes ridiculously prissy, commercial, fake, ignorant to the natural worlds blessings & benefits/universal truths of life, and disgustingly plastic.

Also on a similar note, man spending thousands of dollars on a diamond ring because women want them is also disgusting! those rocks are harvested by child slaves, and the money spent on them does not signify love, it signifies ignorance, and wearing it does not make you look pretty it simply is a woman making a status statement to the other women in her life. It's a disgusting tradition and should be stopped. you want to spend that much money so that your woman knows you love her, spend it on helping people or the environment, $50 saves a life for a year with food and water! $50!!!! YOU COULD SAVE HUNDRED OF PEOPLE! YOU SICK DEMENTED FOOLS! you could build them well, teach them how to feed themselves with agriculture! Seriously folks, wake up, think about how you spend, those false status symbol says you make money and spend it like heartless fool.

P.S. see the new documentary "The Ambassador" not only is it totally interesting, but you'll see the children laboring for your diamond. Way to have childrens blood smeared on your lovers hands. Also, your hershys and nestle chocolate comes from child slaves too. But go on, its ok, your a prince/princess amoung slaves, smile at the luxury of your position, then go back to your 9-5, dreamer.

It is a new spin on trying to say that he wants the bitch to wait on him. So he can only justify his attitude by claiming something is wrong with women.

Yep. Exactly. There's a reason 50 % of American women and maybe all the west , prefer to stay single. Why the hell would we want to live the rest of our lives serving a man , cooking , cleaning , sex , babysitting both him and the kids.....for the rest of our lives as well as go to work ?

HELL NO !

like what kind of issues? Will your answers be assumptions?

I included, seriously, the mail order bride remark, because I know 3 men my age or older who have done it and have been happily ever after, no divorce, still in Love, and highly recommended.

1 of them had a bad experience and the woman right of the bat when they met, already exhibited bitchy princess like behavior which should have been an instant deterrent, but the guy said he was drunk by her beauty (Ukranian girl)

The other 3 guys (1 in his early 50's), respect their wives, help them, are in Love with them. Granted there are a few things here and there that are annoying, but overall they all gave me thumbs up.

Also I never mentioned the mail order bride thing as some meat locker sexual slave purchase.

I've asked this question many times about many different shows. However as it stands, reality tv (Jersey Shore) is extremely cheap to produce. You don't have to pay the large sums to the cast since they aren't real actors. The morons they get to be on the show are happy to do it since they get their 5 minutes of fame. Obviously the production values aren't that great since it looks like the show was tapped on a comcorder you can buy at Best Buy. Next step is to air it to a bunch of idiots who don't know any better (read teenagers). The ad revenue is through the roof, MTV gets to tell these teenagers what is cool and our society is dumbed down another notch.

It's not like this is a new concept to MTV. Their first reality tv show was The Real World (lol at that name). Pretty much the same premise. Get a bunch of moron 20-somes together into a house and watch them make fools of themselves.

I think you can't point any fingers though. Women have there brainwashing out there and so do men. Guys are probably worse than the women, they really are. They'll have kids and not even take care of them, and then even complain when they have to pay child support. Can you see the madness in that? It's MADNESS! Like 100 years ago what father would first reject there unborn child emotionally, then not even at least have the decency to pay for it's basic necessities. So that's just one example. But since the post is about women, I'm sure these don't help them....

lol ... ;-p

I didn't mean issues with you, I mean issues with women's expectations of how they need to be treated in the U.S. today.

Now that you mention it though.. I think marriage shouldn't be about ordering a random person from the internet to be your wife. You want someone you actually love. I mean people complain that gay people shouldn't be married because it's a holy thing.. yet straight people can order brides off the internet. I digress though.. come on man you don't want your wife to be someone you don't even know. Just join an internet dating website, you'll be much happier that way.. than having a wife that is only with you because you live in a wealthy country and it will make her a citizen.

The women who become mail order brides do so out of desperation or greed, why would you want to be apart of that?

Your right I think western women do go through the "princess" stage. Usually in their early to mid 20's, most grow out of it, some never do. Look for someone who is a little older and more sure of themselves, I think a lot of it has to due with our insecurities at that age.

I have known several people who have done the "mail order bride". All I can say is stay FAR away from the Ukranian women. Most of the guys who have stayed happy found someone from Asia.

I'm seeing a whole lot of pointless anti-culpability "We are all at fault" sort of posts....

And I'm not seeing a whole lot of "Those media Manipulating [snip]tards!" posts....

I wonder why that is?

I will quote one of my buddie's wife (who was a mail order bride)

I asked her, why did you sign up for the service?

Paraphrased: "Because the men in my country were mostly drunks, with many kids, who looked at me as a sexual object" All I wanted was a husband who would love me and create a good healthy atmosphere where we can raise children. I want to be a mother and love and raise children and have a husband I'm in Love with who isn't a drunk, doesnt have 10 kids with 10 different women, and isn't a criminal (in and out of jail).

My buddie actually went out there off and on for years, talking on the phone with this women, meeting in other countries to hang out, etc.

On another note. I've been to Europe and yes there is princess syndrome there too. But I actually hung out with some girls that were very down to earth and genuine. I know we have that here too. But my ancestry is European, I was raised in an eastern european household, and find something heart warming about that ...perhaps because I am a product of my environment.

Very cool thread, its not an american problem...

Many girls have a serious problem with self-esteem and self-value, so they seek value and attention from others...

I was reading another thread and found my self wondering, as we progress twords ever greater temporal powers, will our little princesses someday come to have attitudes like the godessof old Inana:

25-32. (Inana announced "When I, the goddess, was walking around in heaven, walking around on earth, when I, Inana, was walking around in heaven, walking around on earth, when I was walking around in Elam and Subir, when I was walking around in the Lulubi mountains, when I turned towards the centre of the mountains, as I, the goddess, approached the mountain it showed me no respect, as I, Inana, approached the mountain it showed me no respect, as I approached the mountain range of Ebiḫ it showed me no respect."

33-36. "Since they did not act appropriately on their own initiative, since they did not put their noses to the ground for me, since they did not rub their lips in the dust for me, I shall fill my hand with the soaring mountain range and let it learn fear of me."

Amen to that Sparky!

Met mine 12 years ago. Calling her a Queen doesnt do her enough justice.

Hahaha, yea I told her that the other day. She said that it may be half of the men here that are like that, but in Ukraine and East Europe in general, its about 99%.

She pointed out the her husband, myself, and the rest of the circle of my male friends are quite the opposite.

I agree with your 'Princess' statement completely.
After a failed marriage and kissing many princesses,
I traveled to the Philippines on a 'wife safari' some years ago for that very reason.
I was so pleasantly surprised with the trip and I met dozens of lovely, honest,
women, many of whom had never even been kissed. yes, hard to believe.
I an now happily married to a non-princess, own a mango farm in the islands,
and have a place to retire where you can still afford to live.
