Everybody just relax. The officer had no choice but to commandeer the tampon to plug the oil leak in the police cruiser.

All joking aside, this really does anger me. Police are repugnant these days, and unfortunately there's not a goddamn thing anybody can do to stop it.

Well there is one thing we can do.
But for some reason they made it a crime to kill a cop.
Like where I live....If someone kills my daughter he can get 20 years, but if someone kills a cop its natural life.
As far as the state is concerned my little girls life is worth less than someone who voluntarily takes a dangerous job

Yet again the majority of people who have posted in this thread have jumped on the bandwagon instead of waiting for additional information. Has this been covered by a major news outlet? Don't forget, these days people are so quick to sue that they will make almost anything up in order to get the support of those that hate the police. I'm sorry but until further information is put forward I find it hard to believe that this lady had her tampon pulled out on the side of the road. We have not yet got a balanced argument either, we have one side of the story which gullible people are taking as absolute fact.

I understand your POV, but sadly I know too many police to dismiss this as not likely to be true, I have listened to too many stories and seen the gleam in their eyes as they recount how they violated their sworn oath to the people.
Too many times have I seen the police declare themselves above the law, and their unions reaffirm that belief.
The cops are on our side, when it means the citizen showers them with praise and they proudly declare, Just doing my job mam
Then five minutes later they are abusing a guy who they caught J-walking

I have never violated my oath to people and never will but I am sorry that you have witnessed behaviour by some of my colleagues that does not represent the highest standards the majority of police officers around the world display. I can only really speak for the UK in this instance. You should always report misconduct, it's very important we root out the bad cops amongst us. I always treat people with respect, justify my actions and make sure that they are proportionate, legal, accountable and necessary.

Not going to assume this one side of the story is complete or true, however; I feel no shame in admitting that if my partner ever came home with a similar story, someone would pay. There is a certain line that, once crossed, justifies personal justice. Why should anyone feel shame in getting even with a cop that doesn't feel any either?

Prof. I applaud your dedication to those you protect.
But here in the states if you log a complaint, most likely you will regret it.
There are cases where even the mayor of the town is calling for the dismissal of the bad cop...but the union has so much power even the mayor can't do what is right.
Dont want half of your police force calling in sick now do you.
If you read my post about how the people lost their police force and what can be done to set things right, I think you might agree

Pics or it didn't happen.

I want the camera in the squad car to prove this. All those passers- by and not ONE person had a cell phone to catch this "astrocity" in action? BS. You people are complaining just to complain. I'm not going to listen to her or the officers involved. Everyone here is going on the word of a blog that has a picture of a "man" pulling tight a surgical glove over his hand, that accompanies an article that uses the word "whack" in the first sentence.

And a copy of a lawsuit, online, that is still in the infancy stage?

Just how gullible are you people?

Let's mark 2012 as the year that the knee-jerk reactions to demonize the police reached new levels of stupidity.

Thank you. Over here in the UK police officers do not have a union - they cannot strike. However, what we do have is a fantastic process both externally and internally whereby members of the public and employees of the police can report misconduct. We have an independent body who (if the complaint is that serious) investigate it without any outside influence. One thing I will add is that this has meant police officers are less reluctant to carry out their jobs due to the fear of unfounded complaints and the tendency by some to constantly pick-up on anything and everything the police get wrong. Which I can understand.

Nonetheless, looking back through this thread this lady making the serious allegations is not exactly law-abiding and honest.

Honestly, I'm just waiting for the police to pull this shiot off on the wrong person and the police who violate this persons rights end up getting whacked off at home in the middle of the night. Not only will they piss off the wrong person, but it will be the wrong person with major connections...

Nah, the cops are smart enough to know who they can do these things to, and who they cannot. You never hear about the cops violating the rights of those who retaliate. Doesn't happen.

I will give you an example of my personal experience.
When I was a kid, my best friends dad was a cop. Once in a while his partner would come over and the two of them would have a beer and start telling stories. One I remember in particular is how they set this guy up for a foot chase.
Bobby's dad was the chaser, and his partner was waiting at the top of a staircase. When the guy got to the stairs they tripped him and sent him sailing down the stairs full speed.
I can still hear the laughter as they reminisced about the day.

His dad ended up being head of property, About once a month the paddy wagon would pull in front of his house and start unloading items. You name it , it was there. Guns knives TV's everything .
He would head out of state about 2x a year to his property and load up his truck with all the goodies. I can only assume he was selling them, but I am speculating. I can remember going to the police auction with my old man, and Bobby's dad would walk him down the isle putting SOLD 50cents SOLD one dollar on items before the auction ever began. Every cop there knew what was going on and they all were in on it. The only thing that ever made it to the public was the items no one in the station wanted.
When I hear how rare bad cops are.....I kinda roll my eyes and think...boy are you naive. They are a fraternity,
Get caught speeding and show your badge
Get caught running a red light and show your badge
Give the wrong cop a ticket and his union rep will call your union rep and it wont be pretty
but abuse a citizen and everything will be just fine

Thank you for sharing your personal experience. What I will say is that people forget police officers and staff are human and are just like people in any job there will always be that bad element. Very recently over the past few years or so infact police officers have been caught doing all sorts of things from growing drugs to faking an assault and being placed in prison. The police service is a great place to work and I will defend it always when facts permit this. Personally, I feel that these days people are too busy reading ridiculous blogs or news stories about the police instead of looking at facts. Inturn this causes confusion and without the correct story or at least both sides of the story people jump all over the police. If I have one recommendation for the US - it is to adopt the style of the British police - policing by consent.

Bad form on sensationalist article title. I know it's direct from the Huff Post or wherever this was dug up from so no fault of the OP here.

Instead of a "Mom" being strip searched, it could have said abusive drug addict felon was strip searched and been just as accurate. You can't just use the fact that she had kids to tug at heart strings.

Not saying she should have been strip searched on the side of the road, but she is a felon with domestic violence charges.

Law enforcement agencies MUST start weeding out these degenerate psychopaths! These freaks are drawn to the profession in the same manner that pedophilz become camp counselors and such.

It must be made abundantly clear from jump street, from the git-go, that they will be held to a high standard and if they perpetrate a heinous act like this, consequences will be heavy. LEOs are the ones who are NOT supposed to engage in this type of behavior.

Ok.....WTF

It would be great if the appologists could explain to us what in the F this was done for.

Really. What the hell is wrong with law enforcement in our country. Are you all retarded or do you only hire cavemen.

Can you please please please fire the dumbasses before they provoke a national response. You do realize that if a public call to arms was to form against you there would be more than enough reason and evidence to have it catch on. There would also be little you could do about it.

Once it started anything you do would make it grow and frankly even the army would fall short considering our obligations internationally.

Up to you. This is getting damn bad. Your call. You want to go to work and have to think about being sniped for getting a slice of pizza or being called to a fake job where an angry mob awaits. Or worse have to worry if they go after your family. Have to hide the fact that you are a cop.

That is what can happen if you make millions of armed people view you like an opresive occupying army.
That is what you are looking like. Unprofesional and sadistic thugs.

Your call. This can only go so far. Then its unrecoverable without just backlash.

And you might have that already. Public blood lust and rage.

I agree that incidents like these are sometimes twisted by the media, but I've personally witnessed too many instances of abusive cops bullying people. I'm talking about sick, sadistic pricks wearing badges. Their name is legion. As my previous post stated, the departments have GOT to start weeding them out!

And my personal experience tells me different. Does that make me naive? No. It means that I've had different experiences than you.

My experience has shown me that police officers deal with the worst of human nature. True, they voluntarily take the job and can quit at any time. But they also know what will happen to a society that doesn't have law enforcement. Do you? Do you know what would've happened to this society if every major criminal who has ever been locked up, hadn't been? I'm sorry to make you think about such things, but you really should.

You need to get out of your own little world and realize that just because you grew up with bad cops, that doesn't make them all bad. There were bikers who lived in my hometown when I was growing up, I think they called themselves The Banditos and, while I was growing up, I thought all bikers were bad. You know what happened?

I grew up.

I came to realize that there's good and bad in everyone. Yes, believe it or not, even cops and bikers.

Settle down big guy.

Prove to me it was done and I'll be glad to explain to you why the "F" it was done.

If you wanna believe a blog article, that's your choice. Let me see video proof of the incident and then, and ONLY then, will I be convinced that it happened.

Ok mr zen we are pretending like things like this are a myth.

Go with that.....see if you can wish it away.....

EDIT.
Ignore it....like that has worked up to now. Do you even talk to people . Do you realize the anger and hate the vast majority of people have brewing?

I am sorry but you are VERY out of touch. Go to a bar or social event and ask around. Throw the idea around of "getting even" and see what they say. Dont tell them you are a cop.

Please wake up. Please.
