You are now guilty until proven innocent and your 4th amendment rights no longer mater.
The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.
Does the outrage also apply when the accused are law enforcement officers?
What we have here is a report of a lawsuit that was filed due to an incident that allegedly occurred a year ago in July, 2011. At this point, we've heard one side.
It would be nice if we could extend the same courtesy of assumption of innocence to LEOs, at least until more info is available beyond what's provided by a lawyer who's looking to ugly this up as much as possible in order to collect.
I think I'll withhold judgement until additional information is available.
Just my opinion.
As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Well I won't. If this is true, I swear they want a civil war. One that is anything but civil. Bend over and take it, Amerika. TSA groping, surveillance cameras at fricken McDonalds even, and this is not a police state? Now WHO is the unfortunate soul who will come in here and tell me this is NOT a police state anymore?
Pulling out a tampon... Jesus H. Christ. :shk: What are they going to do next? Automatic semen extractors to test for STD's at traffic stops? I mean get real. When is Amerika going to say "enough of this total BS???"

We need an independant agency that deals with dirty cops, and not investigated by other cops.
They get taxpayer funds for abusing people like this, and it happens all of the freakin time.
Everyday theres a new story(usually more) of cops acting out of line, and nobody is stopping it.

I see a nice pay day for her.
She needs to sue the crap out of the city.
Unfortunately that's the only way to get a change to happen.

sadly it is the new America, until enough people decide they are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

What this woman did before does not make it acceptable to mistreat her for what she is doing now?
Did she not pay her debt to society before she was pulled over?
Was she not in the eyes of the law she entitled to be free from this sort of treatment?
If a cop EVER pulls you over and asks to look into your glove box.....tell him sure, the minute you get a search warrant. and then as he is getting angry and demanding compliance just keep repeating...because it is my right.
If you got nothing to hide why wont you open it.....because it is my right.
Am I under arrest? No, then I will be going now....because it is my right
Nothing pisses them off more than a citizen who knows their rights and refuses to relinquish them to their authority.
A good cop will tell you that you are correct......and a bad cop will try to prove you wrong.
There should be people whose job it is to go break traffic laws and test the reactions the police give them. That would incline a lot of them to think before they act.... and an annual testing of their understanding of the Constitution wouldn't hurt either
At least. that's what a new lawsuit in the Sunshine State is claiming.
The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office wants to go on record as saying the allegations made in this lawsuit are not only ludicrous, but completely untrue. Yes, a traffic stop was conducted on July 17, 2011. The plaintiff was issued a criminal citation for violation of restrictions on her driver’s license. She also was issued a written warning for rolling through a stop sign.
No strip search was conducted, and the plaintiff’s tampon was never forcibly removed by any deputy.
