The reason those things exist is because.. well a lot of people have gay friends and homosexuality is and has always been normal and existed. Now that being outwardly homosexual is becoming normal then it becomes normal to see on t.v. and etc.

You don't see straight parades because straight people can get married and aren't beat to death and harrassed for being straight. Teens aren't killing themselves for being straight. When people like you get over your small mindedness and people get over the fact that there are a lot of gay people out there then the parades will go. When teens aren't harrassed to suicide the parades won't be neccessary. And when gay people can get married and it's the norm the parades, you have some weird dislike for, will go.

I have gay friends.. it's normal. If you don't then there is a reason for that.. it's not because they are rare it's because of you and possibly some problems you might have.

If gay people want to be treated normal, then maybe they should just act normal and not flaunt their sexuality in the air. I have no problem with gay people but I don't like flamboyantly gay people who shove their sexuality down your throat then get upset if you have a problem with it.

What good does having a parade do but bring further attention to people's differences? I understand a "Gay Agenda" in terms of getting equal rights, but the term "Gay Pride" makes no sense to me, why be proud of your sexual orientation, whether it be straight, gay ,or bi?

Im proud I'm straight I suppose.. I guess I just feel "hey, I love them sexy mamasitas"
but I don't whip out my lap hog and flash it in front of females and ask them if their mouth is watering because I'm proud of my sexual orientation.

I say screw it. Let them have their parades or whatever. As long as they aren't running around killing people and S**T.

Well , why shouldn't they have pride? Straight guys do it all the time talking about the hot "chicks" they'd want to have sex with. It's even flaunted on the movies, television, and radio a lot.

Showing homosexuality is not "forcing" it in anyone's face. No one is forcing you to be with your own gender.

No brother, I was writing about how good it would be for the children in orphan homes to get adopted earlier. If they do the surrogate thing, so be it. Children are a blessing no matter what.

Look at television, 99% of television is heterosexually infused. Scanty clad women, man and woman sex on prime time TV.

I am willing to bet you have never had a man whil out his "lap hog" at you asking if your mouth was watering.

But those scenarios do in fact happen in popular mainstream movies that cater to straight people.

So, I have to ask: who is shoving their sexuality at who? And, who is whining over a scene in a sit come where two people of the same gender do more than comment on the drapes with "bah-dum-tish" sounding in the background?

I think most would prefer artificial insemination in that scenario.
You forget-there is no attraction, for gay men anyway there would more than likely be performance issues even with little blue pills.

Because. They are showing support for other gay people that are afraid to come out. It's supposed to be an inspiration, if you tried to think about it or empathize for just a second you would understand. Gay people still get beat to death and driven to suicide in this country simply for who they are.

When people do accept them as "normal," and someone being gay doesn't mean anything to anyone who hears it, then the parades and so forth will disappear. Until their struggle is over they have to make noise or it's back in the closet. You want it to stop being shoved down your throat, support gay rights and help get them (well all of us, the entire U.S.) out of the dark ages. We are no different now to homosexuals than we were to blacks in the first half of the 1900's. Think about it, you will see it's true.

Eh, take it simpler: Humans are competative. Any group that is not like "me" is my enemy. That is a core in humans. From religion to race to philosophy. From Gender to gay/straight dynamics.

We are instinctively competing for advantage. Only, those who are more liberal are working to overcome those impulses. Others want to maintain it due to feelings of superiority.

Even core tenets of some churches reinforce the idea that people will always be allowed to hate gay people because it comes right from God.

Ahh I see what you mean now. Your right. The mainstream media is heterosexual.
But they are recently throwing in homosexual characters now.

The flaunting though is the attention thing that is a bit annoying. Where some homosexual men will do their best to talk like women, talk REAL loud so everyone around pays attention to them in all their Gay glory. It's like, "ya man, we know your gay and your proud of it" but why be so obnoxious about it. Whats the point.

By pointing out that "Hey, I'm normal, leave me alone" you are also making it totally obvious that you're different otherwise you wouldn't have to make a point about being "normal"

It's like the "Black Police Federation"... if they want equality and they want to be treated the same, why make such an issue of being different that they make their own federation? That instantly separates them and makes them different.. by their own making.

It doesn't make sense to me.

People are people, we're all the same, exactly the same but by making an issue of "differences" people will see the differences.

The sooner we stop spouting on about it, the sooner we can all, hopefully, live in harmony.

But then I guess I'm as bad as the OP, because if I sit down to watch some good science fiction, like Dr Who, what the fudge does it matter to me or anyone else if one of the characters "bats for the other side"... IT DOESN'T MATTER.. so DON'T MENTION IT!!

For some, those manners are actually not intentional.
I dont think anyone has ever pegged me for being gay, I am willing to bet you know several people that you would never guess either.

After being so used to the dynamic of popular culture, with hetero themes plastered everywhere - because sex sells. Anytime something strays from that it explodes to attention. It stands out, you are so used to the normal flow of things that it becomes something a bit jarring.

I get embarrassed if I see two men kissing on TV, mainly because several people I know would make it a point of freezing then doing a slow turn to stare at me, just to pester.

If you sit down and actually count these flauntings you talk about. How many do you wind up with? And I mean, items that you have directly witnessed as opposed to simply suspect happens. Or expect to happen.

Well, that clearly is the fault of your town leaders. There was no reason why they couldn't have had a gay pride parade AND a patriotic parade. Again, it's not the evil gays with an agenda to take over the world.

My husband is the same way. He is pretty much smacked all the way over the the heterosexual side of the continuum. He has NO desire for other men and finds the idea repulsive. Still, he's a staunch supporter of equal rights for all.
