Mass shooting in Aurora, CO (At Batman Film Premiere)

Too bad that things like this happen so damn often these days; it seems like. I feel like everyone as a whole is getting desensitized to this madness...what's going on in the world??

I just read a tweet from @BreakingNews that says

Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates: Suspect purchased 6,000 rounds of ammunition on the Internet

Call me suspect...but does this not seem like great fodder for the government taking a stricter hold on our beloved Internets?? That's not to say this total mishap was a crazy well thought out conspiracy (begone, cooks!), but it surely will be useful in "their" plans to control the nets.

Here is to remember those in the UK that similar things have happened in Europe...

Unfortunately you will find crazy people EVERYWHERE... And criminals will find any way to commit crimes.

This man could have gone into the theater with 2-4 bottles of alcohol, set them on fire and thrown them at the exits and a lot more people would have been killed...

Are you going to ban alcohol, including rubbing alcohol as well because people have been murdered in fires with alcohol drinks?...

i wondered how and who they were going to sacrifce this time.... i knew blood was going to be spilt...after the joker in the last film...and morgan freemans accident.......i was watching the actors....

This whole thing has stuck me very close. As I mentioned earlier in this thread I used to work at this movie theatre.

Now when I get home and see where the supposed attacker lived.

I met my wife in the building that used to occupy the now vacant lot to the north of his apartment building. (on 17th and Paris). We lived w/ roomates in the apartment building just to the west. (even saw our old bedroom window on the news cast). And my daughter went the the elementary school that is just across the street from his apartment. (Paris Elementary).

Chances are very good that I have seen and talked to this person b4.........gives me chills.

Whats funny is this is one of the worst neighbourhoods in Colorado. There were an average of 10 murders a year. They recently finished some new hospitals in the area (where my son was born) and the area was to finally get "cleaned up" in the words of the city council.

Yeah, it's weird. Unusual. I mean the only time you would not release a photo of a suspect is when they are a suspect, not a detainee. You got the guy. Why the hell would you need to refrain from releasing his mugshot for investigative reasons?

I bet the Denver newspaper will file an open records act on that call.

Apologies for quoting myself, but I was still listening when I responded. Now that it's over I'd like to respond with more.

This makes no sense to me. I've never heard of such a thing where you already have the subject in custody, there is allegedly (according to statements just made by the Sheriff) no other UNSUBs, and you basically are just trying to collect evidence for the crime. Why the hell would you not release the photograph? What if there is someone out there he told his plan to just prior to this crime? What if he went to a bar, or library, or what the hell ever and just opened up to somebody?

I don't get it.

More on my friend in Co...the woman who was at the movie...her friend with her was on the news, he was shot in the shoulder...he said she was shot and unconscious last he saw her...but no one has seen her since and her mom can't find her so they think she is still in the theater.

Um, the Century Theaters in CA already have metal detectors. But yeah, now we'll have TSA type searches just to go watch a show. I'm going to invest in a home movie theater system and stay home and enjoy my movies in the comfort of my home. I don't like going to movie houses anyway...... looks like it's a good time to start staying home.

The news showed the invoice from the company where he bought the vest and some other gear online. The company thought it might have sold it and searched the records and bingo, an invoice to him.

I remember some pages back the mention of drugs (of the big pharma type) came up but never saw this referenced.

First responders to the Aurora theater shooting at first thought the shooter was a fellow officer, and the shooter had taken 100mg of Vicodin about two and half hours before the shooting, according to information from sources.

It hasn't even been 24 hours yet, they are still processing the scene. They are not to the point of getting outside data yet.

Besides, it seems they have more than enough evidence already.

IF the FBI is involved, this might now be, and I would be shocked if it wasn't, a federal investigation.

unlike regular investigations, Federal investigations are very tightly shut and not often revealed to the public unless they are forced too like in the DC sniper case.

That much vicoden just puts you to sleep, and makes you loopy if your not used to it. It depends on how much he takes.
It doesn't make you aggressive. he was probably trying to loosen himself up to have the nerve to do this.

He was trying to amplify his high.

This whole sordid ordeal seems off to me. I cant put my finger on it but I would certainly not put it past this administration to pull something like this off. I mean hell, they already actively supplied drug cartels in Mexico for the explicit reason to disarm Americans. I don't put it past anyone in this administration to orchestrate a massacre then "reach out" to the UN and international community for "help" in disarming Americans.

I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's the way I feel. My heart goes out to those hurt and the families of those killed. It's sickening.

Yep, armor is very legal to own like I said, and very easy to get.
It is not offensive but strictly defensive.
