Thanks for your post. I could not believe that I am reading what I am reading here on ATS. I wholeheartedly agree with your post. It would be nice to keep it going, for the ATS members to come who are supposed to read what you said, those with the sincere and original interest in topics like this in future times.

I found your knowledge good on the topic, especially if based on the truth (Bible)

In your personal opinion, do you think that there is certain time scales pertaining to this, that would stand out as more important?

Like everyone else, I get the Jehova's Witness folks rolling by the house about once ever 2 months. Cute little old people that show up just as you're grilling steaks (their timing is impeccable).

I grew up in a mormon family, then moved on to southern baptists when I got married, so I've seen it all. It's why I no longer go to Sunday Brain Washing. I've read the bible through, twice, I get it. I'm a christian, believe in God, but these organized insane asylums they call "church" are just sad. It's where weak-minded people go to be told what and how to think.

I play nice with the JW folks (no need to be mean to anyone). We talk weather, they give me their little magazine, and they leave. The magazine goes in the bottom of my parrots' cage. Can never have too much poop catcher.

Since I was a child I have heard this and the coming of Christ, how he will come with a sword bringing the vengeance and judgment of God!

And as I child I feared it much like I feared my STEP Father, but now…not so much.

I am now a Father and a good one and see that fear, repression; anger, punishment and vengeance are not what a Good Father would do.
Now that said many children today do not understand respect and people only change when they are left with little choice.

To me I think you should turn this on its head…I think there are Christians in power who would bring this about believing they help usher in the kingdom to immanentize the eschaton.

Then turn it even further as a Father again… I have left my child as they have gotten old alone to see if what I had taught them made a difference…if my teachings would lead them to make the right decisions, because if I interfere how could they ever do it alone?

Think about that for a moment and apply it to those wishing to bring God back by making things unbearable here.
Then think about this for a moment how have Christians been good stewards of this house that God made? Have they tended its garden, made it a bounty for a joyous return or have they ruined it with greed, destruction and war? Or is that only the pagans, heathens and non-Christians…lol

The Rapture is not an escape clause to Christians who believe...they will be held accountable, if there is a Rapture I assure you not the people you think should go will (you know the ones who are actually self sacrificing for others). Nope if it does happen it will be done to sow seeds of confusion.

What will shortly take place, if it does, will be done by Christians under the guise of a safer world in Christianity. And they will become the monster they so desperately fear, just as they did in the past (inquisition anyone?)

There is no shortage of the good word only a shortage of good deeds…

Atheist don't you all get it. I do not beleive in GOD it is a fairey tale. So I want play the bend reality game in order to believe this nonsense. The bible is for those who cant accept reality. Live in a fantasy, I dont care, I want to live in reality. I find it hard to beleive if theres a God and he gave us this big ole brain, then forbids us to use it.....

So continue to live in a dream state, continue to beleive that talking to a imaginary being is going to change your life or help your loved one fight cancer, Hey why don't God & Jesus just end all cancer? Now, this is ATS, and there are some incoherent rants, and mastery of the english language is obviously not a requirement to post, but this....

Look man, I'm just going to provide some constructive criticism: If you want people to read your posts and take you seriously, then try to connect your thoughts and engage the brain-to-keyboard filter occasionally.

I'll try to address a couple of your unkempt points:

1) why doesn't god cure cancer
-- why should he? You are implying that cancer is evil. It is what it is. We live, we die. No one makes it out alive so do you want to die from heart failure or brain cancer or a double tap to the chest? Fall out of an airplane and your chute doesn't open? God has nothing to do with it. We live. We die. Stop being a p***y about it. Does it suck? sure. Do we miss those lost to (insert cause of death here)? absolutely. This argument isn't even a straw man, it's an idiot-brought-it-up man.

2) God gave you a brain.
-- you should use aforementioned brain to think critically. It's the tool the universe (or God, if you wish) gave you. So quit wasting it. You say God isn't home. Oh he's home. You're the one that's not home. You're just flailing about randomly being stupid. Take that energy and focus it. Figure out what your life is about, make the most of it. You might think you're invincible but 1 train + you in the wrong place = you dead.

I've lost a lot of friends and associates over the years. People that called me on the phone a week prior to their death and they had no idea Death was around the corner. Flick of a switch, snap of a finger, pull of a trigger, and it's done. THIS is how you need to live your life. Stop being stupid.

The next 10 minutes of your life are a gift. Don't # it up.

The bible doesn't forbid blood transfusions... Somehow Jehovah's witness associate this with 'eating blood' but only because the eating blood part was a practice common in idol worship.

Also Revelations is older and is not Jehovah witnesses original content but a repost, if you will.

I've read the bible through a couple times and I'm pretty sure that saving life is paramount. The crazy fundamentalists (JW's in this case) that prohibit care and lifesaving actions are criminally complicit, at the very least.

The Bible isn't the first and will not be the last book to have prophecies in it. In my opinion, the 'rapture' that the bible speaks of is a completely natural event that has happened many times before.

Scientists have known for a while that the Earth's magnetic field has shifted many times throughout time, and when Earth's magnetic field shifts, it leaves it's inhabitants vulnerable to the suns radiation, the sun seems yo get hotter, and we are experiencing this shift right now. The sun is hotter right now than I ever remember it being.

How the world is right now is a direct result of the magnetic field shifting. Our brains are effected by this shift, that is why everything seems to be out of control.

In my opinion the bible is a book based on everything natural, only what it says is said in metaphor. Jesus is a metaphor for the sun, that's why he is described as 'the light of the world' in the bible, because he is a metaphor for the sun.

The rapture is supposed to be when Jesus comes back and takes all of his followers to the afterlife. Jesus coming back is a metaphor for the sun getting hotter as the magnetic field shifts. If this is true and the 'rapture' is upon us then most will die from the exposure to the suns radiation.

There is no need to worry though because once you die, you will go to heaven, everyone will, even non-believers, because we will all be reincarnated back into this universe. The universe is heaven and we are in heaven now and always will be. Our souls are eternal, and we will move from one life to the next until the end of time.

Psalm 139:16 says "You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I begain to breath. Every day was recorded in your book" That's what the bible say's about Gods involvment in ones life & death, he is responsable for all. As he has planned each day . Even the day we die. So what was it you were spouting off about? That's the book you seem to be ralling around. So follow it's words. Because you are twisting them to fit your side of a position.

I never said cancer was evil. Cancer is a disease, you said cancer was evil. If God had the ability to cure cancer and did'nt, that's cruel as hell. If he exist's and has'nt the ability, why call him God? He, as the story goes did create us. Therfore I would say based solely on common sense, that he could fix any thing he wanted about the human species. He could end human suffering, he could do alot . But I see, what? Nothing. I have already read the bible and found it to be a good story but then I've read heaps of good stories and lots of them contained prophetic visions of the future. Doesn't mean I believed all the books I read.

What gets me more about the bible is that no one really knows who actually wrote it and its been re written that many times it has lost its original message and become corrupted by input from others. Maybe even to the point where tptb have written the book that way so thats what we believe, deception.

Yea dude...you will learn...the easy way to read an entire thread can be to first check for whacko scripture references first. That usually tells me all I need to know.

Here's what Mrs. Betty Bowers found the bible has to say about abortion...as you can see from the actual scriptures, it's clear the bible is pro-abortion!

My opinion matters little in regards to these matters. The times and seasons God himself has set in their own jurisdiction:


(Acts 1:7) . . .“It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction."

As outlined in the OP we can gauge by Bible prophesy that we are in the last days. How long they will last we do not know. But when that cry for peace and security begins we know that the END will have at last arrive. It will no doubt be the most troublesome time in human history. How long that tribulation will last has not been revealed yet. If Bible prophecy does talk about it, God's holy spirit has not yet revealed. Perhaps in due time it will be.

But this is not written to scare or make people change because of a date. Many have heard the good news and come to serve Jehovah because of fear of what is to take place. When the end does not come according to their time-table, those who are in it for self-interest don't last long.

Who will survive? Those who love Jehovah and hate what is bad. Even now he is searching for all those that are moaning and groaning over all the detestable things being done in the earth, to mark them for survivial:


(Ezekiel 9:4) . . .: “Pass through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and you must put a mark on the foreheads of the men that are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done in the midst of it.”

Whether any of this happens in my lifetime or not matters little. I will continue to love Jehovah and love my neighbor. I will continue to treat others as I want to be treated, continue to love my enemy, and pray for those persecuting me.

What matters it if the end is soon in coming or only a few years away? To a man of faith, who loves right and truth, it matters little. But one thing is sure, the things will come to pass, and those who have endured down to the end will be saved.

But why, you may ask, why is God so LONG in bringing an end to injustice, misery, suffering, death, all the badness that mankind has heaped upon himself by refusing to listen to him? It is not because he is slow in executing judgement upon the wicked lawless people, rather it is because he is patient:


(2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

Man rebelled from God and he has allowed sufficient time to let him prove whether he could rule himself. Man has failed miserably, God now will take action shortly to correct things. Before he does out of love he has raised up a people with his name and commissioned them as witnesses to preach in all the inhabited earth the good news of truth before that end arrives. This is a miracle that you see happening now before the end:


(Isaiah 43:10, 11) “YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none. 11 I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.”


(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
