Revelation - Chapter 13

I was studying chapter 13 of the book of Revelations this morning. In chapter 13 (loosely translated by me)...the beast rises out of the sea and on the beasts head is the name of blasphemy. His face looked like a giant (leopard); he has the feet of a (bear); mouth of a (lion) and the (dragon) gave him power.

So...then I got to thinking...what countries have the above animals as their national animals and or national symbol.

Afghanistan - leopard

Iran and Libya - lion

Russia - bear

China - dragon

Do any of you think I may be on to something? Or...am I completely wrong.

I think you're on to something. Congratulations, you've successfully proven that Revelations might not be a load of tosh!

So what's with the sea? Is there going to be a war on the ocean? Are these countries going to cause a monster tsunami, or what?

Very interesting...could be a complete coincidence.

Or.....you could be onto something

Several months ago ( and I have mentioned this on ATS before) I had a very vivid dream. In the dream there was a huge ship and on the ship were middle eastern men, Russian men and men from China and they were going to attack someone.

I can't prove anything ( it was just a dream)...but a very vivid one.

Any idea which way they were going? Did they mention any weapons?

You should keep studying Chapter 13 and see what else you can come up with. You're on a roll!

That is all I remember of the dream right now. Yes...I am going to keep studying and see if I can come up with anything else.

This could very well be extremely accurate, it brings a new side to it. Thank you I may look into it some more

If you continue to read you will find that the Angel tells John that the "sea" represents multitudes of peoples from various tongues. All indications are that the beast is some sort of a "system" that gets put in place by Satan and will be advertised as a good thing by the "false prophet".

Also, nowhere in the bible is the definitive term "The" written before the word "anti-christ" (ie: The Antichrist) so it is not an individual. However, in modern times the word "The" has appeared in writings describing the false prophet as "The Antichrist" or someone who is against the Christ and/or his teachings.

Ch 13 verse 18 onwards is very clear and, imo, is not symbolic in its description. It clearly states that you will be chipped, if not, you will not be able to buy or sell anything!

Revelations is a political and war manifesto and reads completely differently in its tone to every other book in the bible, imo.

Well, it looks like we have something to look into. We have some names, and now we have some metaphors to decrypt...but now we know where to look. What kind of horns? Like bull horns? Or trumpet horns?

I think the 10 crowns might be the financial backers of the potential operation or war...

You'll know that you're on the right track when the Beast that you've got in mind declares war on the Church and tries to exterminate it (v7). Because that war is the whole point of the chapter (and the book).

I think the answer to "what's with the sea" is answered in Revelation 17:15

15) And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

So, I believe the sea represents different people and nations.

Likewise with my post above, the Angel goes on to tell John exactly what the horns and crowns represent, can't remember precisely the verse but they are kingdoms and kings who are given their power by Satan for 1 hour - or words along those lines

Revelation 17:9-14

9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Thanks Dee - satellite uplink atm so browsing is too slow to get the verses but I appreciate the back-up nonetheless.

Something tells me that the second beast with 2 horns could be us and the british.
Let's not forget that damascus and egypt play a role in this.
Here is a prediction i made that could start the beast rising.

verse 9 the woman sitting could be the whore of babylon meaning the perversion of the churches.

verse 12 could speak of secret societies

verse 10 5 fallen kings could be the leaders that have fallen recently
