It's logical that research labs would end up deep forest (for Resident Evil/ non-Resident Evil fans alike).
Rabies travels through the body, but only becomes an issue after hitting our central nervous system.
Viruses of this nature can take up to 7 years (in known cases) to register with the immune system.

I hope you realise we are talking about a hybrid rabies/flu virus.

All the symptoms fit. In that map there might be a few that don't really belong there but that doesnt mean that there isn't SOMETHING going on in relation to these type of attacks. (you already stated that it was bath salts while you were only able to point out 2 of the total that actually were)

Stating they are reported on more now because of increased media coverage is bull aswell. The only people discussing stuff like this are people who frequent sites like ATS.

so the incidents in florida were the result of drug psychosis, the incident in baltimore was a hannibal lecter wannabe, all but three or so of that thread linked in the op are in anyway related to cannibalism one of which is about the florida cases, the rest are domestic violence incidents that in some cases like the two cousins involve alcohol. and then they even include the chinese guy who cooked his own testicles as a form of protest against something i can't recall right now, which has nothing to do with this thread at all.....

so tell me....where's the evidence that this is rabies?

I think a lot of people are getting caught up on the semantics, the word "zombie", and the typical instances of how "zombie apocalypse" would occur and propagate, based on our notions from mainstream entertainment.

Where I currently live, I had never heard of the bath salts until I moved here. This state was one of the first to ban/outlaw them as well as spice. From reading the papers here (mind you, this was more than a year ago), it was obvious that the way the people were acting were in line with people suffering from stimulant-induced psychosis, as were the crimes they were committing (breaking and entering, threatening/aggressive behavior towards people, etc). At the same time, all these people, they were also all done using the instruments you would expect - guns, knives, and fists.

Before I moved here, I lived in a state where K2 use was prevalent. Noone even made a peep about it, as there was nothing to say. The only people who did it were people worried about UA for various reasons, and they never appeared to under any sort of influence. It was no big deal, IMO.

To take the word "zombie" out of the equation - what we are looking at is a steady increase of people committing acts of "cannibalistic" or other extreme acts of violence towards others, while in a delusional state, stripping their clothes off, and having a high threshold to pain and increased strength. At the same time, just because not every attempt succeeded in a bite is not to say it wouldn't have. That would be like saying ever zombie encounter in the movies ended in death. No, people can and will attempt to defend themselves.

I entirely agree with everyone speculating on adrenaline rush and other things. I was charged with felony assault when I was 19 because I got into a fight with someone, and while it was going on, I bit a small chunk out of their neck.

At the same time, I can say that in my mind, I knew why I did it, was never convicted because of the nature of what happened, and the ordeal ended with me still clothed.

Yes, I can see where we are picking out several straws that look like a needle in this haystack, but on the whole, there is obviously something going on that is making people use this manner of violence against (some) people they have never even met before.

Of everything, I can see an engineered virus or pathogen creating this, rather than drugs. In regards to that, I refer you to the beginning of this post.

I also don't see how any of this is any more speculatory or lacking of evidence than aliens, UFOs, or any other kind of phenomena.

if this turns into a major rabies thing all over the world, hey you were right then. if not....well...once again it will be plain for all to see that nothing nefarious is happening, other than some rather unfortunate incidents that gained popularity because a small subset of publicized cases bring to mind zombie attacks, since zombie movies have been rather prevalent in the last five years.

And to elaborate on the "Miami Zombie" -

The only drugs found in his system were THC metabolites. That cannot even prove he was under the influence of THC when the attacks occurred, as testing for marijuana is generally Pass/Fail, not quantitative.

At the same time, with the media hype surrounding that, I would bet my house that they made SURE to test for bath salts, and any known/possible metabolites in his system. The fact they found nothing of the sort is what gets me. I would like to know what the unidentified pills found in his stomach were (I would also like to know what the unidentified vials of liquid found on the blood-spitting doctor were, if you google his name, you find he was a founder/part of a company that worked with gene therapy and other therapies to reduce aging, which is very Resident Evilish).

I see your point but i think a good question is how long have we been dealing with this zombie threat and seen no cases hit mainstream until when the threat supposed to take place.
This timing is too much for me to overlook.
