This recession might.

Not everyone can pay for health care now... it's going to get much more expensive. What do you think people will do? They'll quit buying what little they buy now!

Companies will be forced out of business because they can't pay enough to cover the tax increase... those jobs will be gone... more people out of work and unable to pay.

I will be surprised if we even have health care in five years.

I started my business last year and have been struggling since. I have a health plan, not insurance, so it looks like I will be penalized if I don't buy health insurance since my current plan won't pass the rule. If I can't make this work then I am going to have to hang up my boots for good.

Extremist to want to do with our money as WE choose? Then paint me with the "extremist" brush, too.

This is a sad, and disheartening, day. Precedence for any number of new taxes/fees has been set. Any challenge in court? This is the reference.

In our mind bendingly stupid apathy, we've allowed the inmates to run the asylum... Well, isn't it nice to know that we do indeed, reap what we sow.

Living off the grid sounds much more attractive now than it ever has before...

First step in having gov mandate what you ARE going to have to do.
When they push harder, those of you who agree with this, also deserve whatever else comes done the pipe.
Enjoy!

9 people who were appointed by persons with an agenda...appointed for life so when you get enough players in the position you can control all.

How can it be constitutional to say...if a penalty is not constitutional we will call it a tax.

It seems all will eventually benefit big business and again the little worthless citizen who did not put anyone in office will be broken while enlarging the contributors of the politicians. Until all the power is in one basket and that includes all the sides and parties.

We should look on the bright side.

Sure, rationing will occur.
Sure, we'll see those death panels.
Sure, our level of care will fall.
Sure, it'll cost more.
Sure, unemployment will rise.
Sure, our economy will tank.

BUT!

We'll be able to get as many SpongeBob Squarepants bandaids as we want.

Finally I got the real scoop on the so call "Supreme court decision".

1, It can only be passed as a tax so now the whole Obama care have to be rewritten (to change the wording from "mandate" to "tax") and send back to the senate for vote once again.

There you have it.

That is some creative (wishful) thinking.

I'd be interested where you are getting your information from.

I just heard exactly the opposite.

On ABC News.

CNN, FOX were both reporting the opposite for about 5 minutes as well, then they read the rest of the ruling and had to change it. Reporting FAIL.

Trust me when I say, I haven't/won't support him. His lies/obfuscations have been rampant since day one. But he's so smart that he seems to truly believe that we just don't see it due to his brilliance...

Wrong on all counts Mr. One term President. Wrong on all counts.

They make those in China, don't they?
Do you really think we will be able to afford them?

A democracy lasts only as long as the minority is willing to be governed by the majority. Looks like this democracy maybe headed for trouble. What say you, you tea party rebels? Ready to live without any government at all? Might make all that paper money in your pocket you call your own, worthless. But hey gotta pay the price. In reality, governments, everybody's got one. What kind do you want?

So I could get it cheaper through Obama care, BUT, my boss wont let me drop the company plan as we are a small company and our rates would go up if we lost a member. He did say that our rates will be going up again as a result of this.

Your employer can't force you to buy insurance.

So when all is said and done...you will get cheaper insurance under this bill.

... But your government can!

Can you source that please?

IF this is correct then it may be a gamble by the justice to see if there is a change in power before or by the time it needs to be "rewritten"...

I read the ruling.

It seems that they justified it on basically the same basis that 'sin' taxes are justified. Except, in this case, you get taxed if you don't have it.

They basically said that it is ok for govt. to tax people in such a way as to get them to behave the way the govt. wanted them too. They did hint at it was up to the people as far as the wisdom in doing this.

The dissenting opinion seemed to hint at how dangerous this was, and how that along with the part about medicare expansion - which was struck down - that instability could result.

Somehow, I agree with the reasoning in both. I really agree that something needs to be done about healthcare, but if it were up to me, I'd make insurance illegal. Yep, I consider it all just codified gambling. Just do it all and see what the market will do naturally. bleh Open up those pharmacies and if you want to prescribe your own care, go for it. Why is it companies can have risk taking as part of their financial plan, but I can't have it as part of my health plan? lol

I'm wondering how many states will opt out and what kind of blowback that will bring.

I don't like sin taxes, never liked sin taxes, and IMO if you ever supported one, then you just supported this ruling.

Yes...that is the meaning of a "mandate".

You don't have to like it...you just have to follow the law.

Yeah.

I can imagine a trip to the doctor.

"Mr. Beezzer, we have some good news and some bad news."\

"What's the bad news?"

"Obama-Care is in full effect now."

"And the good news?"

"You have inoperable cancer and won't live to see it."
