Honest question and please excuse my ignorance:

What does your skin color have to do with choosing a political party?

I do not feel 'entitled' to anything. I was simply saying that if the Federal gov't is going to help citizens, why would treat its veterans worse than its welfare population?

It's amazing you found out the "truth"(or so you say) about the democratic party and have thus chosen for a different party, it's all great, fine, dandy...

but let me get this straight;

You actually thought they gave a # about you as a soldier? You're a puppet with a stomach that needs to be filled to them. You do as they tell you, they fill your stomach. You thought that you were going to see the spoils of war?

Amazing.

You still believe in the illusion, just with added stockholm syndrome as previously mentioned. After all, it can't be the system that's wrecked, it has to be one side of the system.

aaah, such wishful thinking. Take care.

"Nothing"...

but obviously the wallet has a lot more to do with choosing a political party.

By the way, what's worth more to you;

Freedom or money?

Because the consensus of these online republicans is that they would sell their own mothers into prostitution.

I would think it was money the way these republicans speak.

"sure I care about people's rights...but I care more about moneyyyy" seems to be the vibe from these folk.

It doesn't matter what the parties did in the past, all the matters is what is going on NOW. You can't vote for a party because they did something good 100 years ago, that is just ridiculous. Think for YOURSELF.

Both of the parties are one in the same at the moment, it is nothing but scripted political theater. It gives us the illusion of choice. Obama's policies are just like Bush's'.

You're trying to reason with someone that went into the military.

It will take the OP some time to ditch military conditioning in order to be able to reason. Right now it's all emotional and in-for-the-kill, either with me or against me. Sad but true.

The problem is media.. the media only gives attention to Neoconservatives (democrats registered as Republicans) and Evangelical Christians.

The Republicans that did all those great things.. free slaves (and rebelled against the Government at the same time) stand up for individual rights, promise small government and personal responsibility .. those were Libertarians and Classical Liberals. TRUE Conservatives. Not this Tea Party Express BS pandered by the media.. those ass clowns make a mockery of what Conservatism is all about.

But kudos to you for opening your eyes and seeing the oppressive hand of Government glorified by Democrats.

Both parties seem to have forgotten what they were for. I consider myself a democrat, but by no means do I hold to the "Democratic Ideals." I do carry a streak of socialism but only to the degree that people should be given an opportunity to make a good life for themselves, not supplied one indefinitely. As I do believe in the logic: "If there is a government that can give you every thing you want it also has the power to take it all away."

God be with you. Good luck with school. And thank you for your service to our country.

Welcome to the dark side........we have cookies....

Yes, The Republican Party was all that you said and the Democrat Party was all that you said.

That was then..........this is now....

Neither party has your best interests at heart.

Both have changed over the years. They are all about power for the party. Meaning, power for "me". Me being the politicians who can gain the most rank.

And people keep trying to latch onto the coat tails of the party favorites.

And now, I'm not trying to be funny or sarcastic......really? You're a black female and you are abandoning the Democrat Party? I don't know one black female that is of that mindset.

I'm sorry, but this sounds like complete and utter BS propaganda, probably from that military propaganda unit that's supposedly posting in these forums.

This reminds me of that post I see every 6 months about how Jewish people only vote for Democrats because they feel guilty about having more money than black people.

I think this woman is a ficticious character to compete with Obama's Julia, don't be duped people. A vote for the Republicans is a vote to end freedom and instill aristocracy.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. Obsolutely spot on. Paid political commenter. The faithful all too willing to play along, because it's just their frequency of dog whistle.

OMG...

You still want me to take you serious after that single word that pretty much says you're a teenage girl?

So you think Buttercookie can't think right because of military conditioning...

Yes. Very few people can think through their military conditioning. This has to do with mental resilience, of which the OP is showing very little.

I think you can't think right because of liberal conditioning...

Word of advice: if you don't know what you're talking about, don't talk at all.

MLK was a republican. So was Abe Lincoln and every other civil rights leader...

How many years ago? Oh I see, you're full of it.

Liberal BS about the parties flip flopping is a bunch o crap... All you have to do is read historical facts and comprehend!!!

Yeah, just read historical facts. Don't relate them to today's world, don't keep them in perspective or learn from the lessons. No!!! Read historical facts. And if you find out someone who did something good was of a certain political leaning it CERTAINLY means that political leaning will NEVER change. EVER.

Why does it feel like I'm explaining something to a 15 year old?

I have a decent memory.

My memory tells me you should look into the OP's post history.

It's not the first time she has posted in this manner. I can tell you why I think a person, like the OP, would think and speak the way she does. It's not a pretty story and hence only through pm.

All I can say is though; she is not to blame.

So, you've decided to go with Mittington Romsquire the Third! A most excellent of choices, you will be extremely useful for photo ops and whatnot, you know, Mittens standing proudly (don't touch him) next to a black female republican, all smiles!

Don't you worry, Mittens will have systems in place that ensure the type of social grifting you've described in your post won't be allowed to happen, at least not by the undesirable types you've mentioned. It really irks us true Republicans when those from the lower castes attempt to run the same type of grifts that we run, what do they think this is, some kind of bailout?

Of course, if you change your mind and decide that you like Obama better, we've got those bases covered too, either way suits us just fine, just make sure you vote for either Mittens or Barry, anything else would just be throwing your vote away!

Yes, those great men were republican and the liberals may be in denial that their party did nothing toward the advancement of blacks.
