The Majority of the american people do not appreciate that being passed in the dead of night after being told you'll see what it's about after it passes.

And I will add that I would be that if put to a vote most people would not want this. It does not accurately reflect what the majority of the states or the majority of the people want. We will not get into why it sucks. Everyone will find that out soon enough if it were to get through. However I highly doubt it will ever fully get implemented.

I will say it again. Capitalism is what has made this country what it is. Work for the things you want and you will appreciate them more. Sit back and collect welfare and food stamps and you will not appreciate a damn thing. This society has become more and more dependent on programs that were never meant to be a long term survival method yet have become that. We coddle unions because they are a big voter base and they have become a work force that works half as much as it should for twice the pay. We have so many messed up systems going on and they spread like a virus and since they vote and typically vote Democrat because they give more handouts it is hard to stop it. Any one that tries to stop them usually doesn't get re elected which is why the guy in Wisconsin is getting death threats.

Who do we think we are asking someone to do an honest days work for an honest days pay? We use to be proud of the things we built and they were built with quality. We need to get back to that and Socialism is not the way to do it. Sorry but that is the facts.

Thats the point of the capitalist system. You're not supposed to be "helped." What capitalism does is give people the OPTION to help themselves. You know, through hard work? Capitalism allows you to be as successful as you want to be, or dont want to be.

I was born poor. I saw elderly men who were also poor and decided that wasn't for me. It never occurred to me that the government would pay for me, or help me, or provide any hand outs.

So, I studied with dillgence, worked and did my best at every opportunity. Upon my return from the war, I attended two universities which allowed me to live the life I dreamed of as a child and retire young.

My life may be at its end now, but I smile when I think of that boy who went to bed hungry, now lives in a multimillion dollar home, owns several vehicles, a boat, and an airplane. I will leave behind enough that my grandchildren and their grandchildren should never have to worry about college tuition, or the cost of books.

I'm not saying I'm the richest man, I am no different than any of you. All it takes is hardwork, determination, and the undying desire to achieve your goals. I don't believe anyone should have it easy, how else will you know when you've achieved? Those who are born wealthy and given everything know nothing.

Thats what capitalism did for me. Thats the opportunity capitalism offers for you all.

You can even see it in the techniques used when campaigning. If you look at the Clinton vs Bush campaigns back when. Bush never would really get into mud slinging and personal attacks and it lost him that election. There is a difference in moral flexibility and you saw it later when Clinton got himself impeached. I'm not trying to debate that whole mess but liberals usually have an easier time running a no holds barred campaign to where they run more on the premise that they can dig up more dirt on the other guy than trying to run on the substance of themselves.

Well said and a perfect example of Capitalism at work and how it SHOULD work. The problem is you have so many socialist programs sprinkled in to give others opportunities like you and the people they were intended to help still dont take advantage. They want a bigger hand out. A free education would mean that at some point they would be required to move over into the capitalism based system out of the social program. Its a sad thing to see and I am glad that people such as yourself take full advantage of the capitalist system we have in place and dont sit back and say "Wheres my hand out". I was unfortunately or fortunately however you want to look at it, born into a white middle class family and have NEVER qualified for anything. Either my skin was the wrong color or my family made too much money. So I was thrust into capitalism head first and if you let it. The system works great.

Left = values Equality at the expense of Freedom.

Right = Values Freedom at the expense of Equality.

This is a great example of what I was saying, please go back and read the post, both have value, both sides are right and both sides are wrong, the debate between who is right and who is wrong was manufactureed so we would be trapped in and endless debate over what to value MORE freedom or equality, really it is both in moderation.
