America did not save Australia. We helped you. You helped us. They attacked you first.

And we defended ourselves. Also Japan said themselves that invasion was 'impossible'. America did not save us.

I do not mean to do that at all. I have locked horns with some US Military on here and I was trying not to offend. I dont see how I have. DDay was awesome,it reminds me of what Aussies did at gallipoli ww1. I think history has overstated Americas importance.

I agree that perhaps and its actually likely that Germany would have continued to kick ass if it had not been for America entering the war.

But America is like the Star of the team that just won a hard game. He came of the bench and made the differnce. When they interview him all he does is go on and on about himself,and doesnt even mention his teammates. Like Iverson or something. We all helped each other. America tipped the scale. But Russia and Britan and other nations must endure America acting like they saved us. Its just not cool. We would have all helped you if Germany had a problem with you you know.

Ah , who was involved in WWI and WWII ? Seems to me it was a European affair , no ?

And if I remember correctly it was North Amairica that came to there aid , no ? Yes , you can cry about the timing of the US all you want but you are dam lucky they showed up at all .

As for Canada , the other NA country , if I remember my history correctly they were over there helping right from the start . And if I remember correctly , Canada sent 1.1 million troops to fight in Europ .

Also , if it wasn't for the Amairica mussel during the cold war Europ could have ended up as part of the USSR

So , I think the real question is , should NA help out Europ in WWIII ?


Now , a dose of reality , these types of threads are plain stupid , IMHO and a slap in the face of past generations that did go through hard times and were thankful for the sacrifices made by all .

I hope to hell that Europe help the USA for sure.

No good will come of the Chinese ruling anything other than their own country.

As someone who has spent 13 months in China I can say that it is a horrible place to live, visiting may be ok but living is just poor. I was a guest of a company and my abode was very plush and the company treated me very well.
But, the Chinese people are another matter. I will not throw insults but they have yet to learn basic manners, spitting all over the place including elevators is common practice and among thousands of other things they have very little compassion for children. Compassion is not my greatest quality for sure but towards children I will make every effort.

I personally would rejoin the forces if it came to it as there is no way I am living side by side under Chinese rule.

To top it off their tv shows are very boring and not funny.

What would happen to the GDP without the technicians, scientists, engineers, mechanics, machinists, transport personnel, administrative persons, laborers, and any other group or industry that supports the military or military pursuits. These people and the services and products they provide for military means play a large role in the economy..

They are just doing their best. they have not got it as easy as America. They have to be careful. The standard of living will rise when they get the Reserve Currency.

Of course you don't "owe" the US anything. The only question will be, and always has been, is it in Australia's national interest to side with the US in a conflict. The past 60 some years it's been in the national interest for the "allies" to work together...in ww2 Japan would likely have been a poor steward of peace in the pacific.

I am an American, have never once forced an opinion, or a life style on any other living being. The government I live under has, but I have not, I would not doubt in a heartbeat any other government in the world has.
