Hi Everyone, first off thank you for this fantastic thread! I just made my first batch and thanks to everyone's tips and input it seems to have turned out flawlessly first try!

I just have a quick question, I purchased the sonic wave cd-2800 from amazon but what actually arrived was a magnasonic MGUC500. They look quite similar and i'm not too worried about it, it does have a stainless steel tub and everything. Maybe they bought out sonic wave, i'm not sure.

Anyway when i was doing the sonic cleaner step I noticed that the machine itself gets quite warm which causes the mixture to heat up, well past room temp. Is this normal and ok? I remember reading that heat kills vitamin c so I just want to make sure on this. I have no way to measure the exact temp but if I had to guess I would say it's somewhere between 40-45 celsius (about 110 F). Thanks

I have 6 cups of the appropriate measurements preparing overnight. My UC only holds 1.5 cups @ 40 min.....you know what I'll be doing tomorrow. lol

I sonicate in increments of 10-15 mins, so as too not overheat the mixture.

Give the machine a cool down break, while mixture sits in fridge, then go again.

That's a good idea, I'd hate to burnout my UC or overheat the mixture. Not sure what the max temp should be but I will be cautious.

I have 6 cups to create...I do each batch 1.5 cups for 40 min. With 4 batches to create it will get warm as time goes buy. The mixture does heat-up not too bad but when I feel the side of the UC it gets quite warm.... experience from my last 3 cup batch.

Gettin an odd salty flavor with the same ingredients I used before, same recipe. Definitely a different flavor. Does the Lecithin go bad in it's dried form? If the Vit C begins to break down, what does it break down to be? I been using these same two bottles of ingredients for a month now with no discernable differences between the batches til now.

Something has changed...Maybe just my taste buds tonight but I doubt it.

Just made my first batch this morning after trying Dominicus' method and feel like I've been on a high all day, eyes WIDE open and full of energy. Perhaps a placebo affect, but if this is what a placebo effect does then I'm happy.

I still had a foam on the top of my mixture but anyway, it seems to be working
Taste is not as bad as I expected, but not pleasant still. No negative effects with the soy lecithin either.

Boy! I keep messing up this morning. so I'll try this.

can anyone tell me the time frame of taking this. How long before you eat or have coffee should you take it?

After taking it how long should you wait to eat or have coffee?

Should you take it with meals?

I've been taking Lipo-C for a long time now. I like to take my first dose, 1oz in the morning on an empty stomach. I usually wait about an hour before eating. I like to give it a good amount of time to absorb in my system. I have taken it on a non empty stomach before, I just don't get as big a rush of energy when I've done that. I take it with coffee in the morning, with no apparent effects.

I take my second dose of 1oz, around 2 in the afternoon...again on a somewhat empty stomach. I'm sure some other people will chime in with more info for you. We all have individual metabolic systems...so what is working for some, may not for others. You have to find the time schedule that works best for you.

Hope this has helped a little....

Most recommendations are 1 hour before or after meals, on an empty stomach for sure.

But sometimes our schedules can't accomodate that so at least on an empty stomach preferably at least 15 mintues before you eat.

In the orignal thread it suggested taking a dose 1 hour after eating, and then not eating for a full 30 minutes after. I kept a 1 hour hungry and 1 hour after routine and it seems to be having the desired result.

My cheeks are red (on my face!) and that's an extremely unusual thing for me (never, ever happens), even my girlfriend noticed it - so that's the first physical symptom. I've been extremely energetic all day too, but almost too energetic so that I'm probably going to collapse due to exhaustion before the day is over . It's almost like the cure to lethargy

Sight hasn't changed except my eyes are WIDE open all day and I haven't felt so clear headed since I was 10.

Great thanks Dominicus. I didn't know you could interupt the process and put it in the fridge like that.

And Dodgy, i've been getting the red flush too. No big deal I guess, Niacin does the same thing to me. I just hope it doesn't make my Rosacea and broken capillaries any worse.

Thanks again

Hi Dodgy, finally getting through all these posts?
I usually take mine first thing in the morning with coffee, again when I get to work and in the evening before dinnertime and it keps me energetic all day.

Got up and tasted this batch I made last night and it is much more sour with an odd saltiness that would not come from anyplace but the same ingredients I had before. My lecithin says it is good through the end of the year and my Vit C is good into 2015 so my ingredients should be fine.

Does any of you store the ingredients in the refrigerator? Mine were stored on top of it, but thinking my lecithin may be the culprit in the change of flavor. I noticed upon a visual examination that there is a much finer layer under the top layer of brown granules that has a powdery look to it and a lighter color.

In another post I brought up that the lecithin may be inconsistant. Now I am wondering if I may have been more on target than I realized just from my visual examination.

Hi again, I just wanted to make another comment here because I'm a little bit in disbelief. To recap where i'm at, I made my first batch yesterday and I took a 1oz shot yesterday afternoon, 0.5oz this morning and another 0.5 before lunch.

Almost 4 years ago I was in a nasty head-on crash on a sea-doo. I did some serious damage to myself and a couple of the injuries included a broken clavical and a separated shoulder. Since then i've basically had pain in my shoulder every day, especially when I rotate it or stretch it across my body. Every day that is until today! I have full rotation again without any pain and even when I stretch it, I have to stretch it pretty hard and far to feel anything. There's no way this is just a coincidence. Just like OP said this stuff IS fricken amazing! And after only 2 days wow!

Thanks again so much for bringing this here, I'm totally blown away!

Coopdog,

I keep mine in the refrigerator.

I've read that Vitamin C is very sensitive to light and heat.

The refrigerator keeps it in the dark.

Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Just read the back of my lecithin container and it says that it must be stored in the refrigerator after opening. The vitamin C only in a cool dark place. Your lecithin has probably gone off. I'm glad you mentioned it actually because mine was stored on top of the fridge also

Yeah Dodgy, mine does NOT say to store it in the fridge that I saw at any rate. I will go ahead and drink this batch and order more payday (this thursday) and I will keep the new batch in the fridge and see how it lasts. I will also order a smaller amount as I went with the three lb package the first time as I figured 1-3 ratio it would be about the right amount to get me through.

It doesn't seem to be bad that I can see or smell, but the flavor is a little off for sure. That sucks lol I need some tomorrow! lol

Peace....

I cannot verify the quality of this source, however I found bulk Sunflower Lecithin at incredibly cheap prices.

Azure Standard

You must sign up for an account to get their prices. So I made an account and this is what they publish for pricing:

16 ozs $5.05
32 ozs $8.55
1 Gallon $30.20

*snip*

I just placed an order for 16oz of liquid sunflower lecithin from this site. here is my total to have it shipped to me

NS392 Bulk Sunflower Lecithin, Liquid 16 ozs. 1 $5.05
Estimated UPS Shipping Cost: $13.59
Azure Standard UPS Small Order Handling Fee: $2.50
Estimated Total: $21.14

I was between this site and the www.mysunflowerlecithin.com... site, for the "standard" lecithin from that site it would have been over $30 for 16oz so i went with the cheaper of the two.

i have no idea how to gauge the "quality" of it but hopefully the taste of it is better than the soy lecithin so my wife will be able to take it

ETA: woot 20 posts i can flag this thread now!

Thanks for sharing that bit of info. Just checked my soy licithin and it DOES say "store in refrigerator after opening".

Very timely, as my 3 lb supply arrived yesterday!
