Then don't watch it. Simple solution.
I bet this person never bothered to go out and vote, ever. But now claims to be upset about the situation.
I bet if this person DID vote, they voted for the same person that are their current representatives, after all, 95% of voters vote for the incumbent nearly every single time, despite Congress having a 9% approval rating and The Senate not faring much better.
You want to influence change? Run for office, go out and convince others to vote, work for a campaign for a candidate you believe in.
Police at Occupy Protests are generally responding in kind (although there are a few exceptions).
I appreciate this woman's passion for her cause, but it's a losing battle from the beginning.edit on 27-5-2012 by babybunnies because: (no reason given)

You're totally missing the fact the that she did not say "New Black Panther Party" She said "Black Panthers" which if you had bothered to read anything I linked or quoted to you, you would know are not one in the same. The Black Panthers have specifically said that that the NBPP is not a legitimate successor to their movement and have condemned them for their racist rhetoric.

Well ThichHeaded, with a thought process like that YOU SHOULD RUN FOR CITY COUNCIL, because your lack of empathy and understanding means your a shoe in. AND A CLOWN
Great name though, your mother must have known you well
You know, Its funny you say this, I have been to many protests that i seemed to have some feeling about.. Being empathetic towards someone who shows hate of another race... Um no, I think not.. If this was clear plain english with a F here and an F there then it would be fine, but she straight up stated she is involved with the Black panthers and Agreed with their logic, this means not whites allowed.. Ironic I state this because well I aint even white I am native american... Interesting that eh?
But ya lets have her passion of hate of others fill us with mad rage.. That way we can do flash mobs into stores because the man let us down.. meh whatever........................

She's also blaming capitalism, which is ignorant. She should be blaming the fact that politicians serve corporate interests now rather than the people, and she is confusing that with capitalism.

what if some neo nazi stood up there screaming "WHITE POWER! WHITE POWER!" ....
The White Panthers were a far-left, anti-racist, white American political collective founded in 1968 by Lawrence Plamondon, Leni Sinclair, and John Sinclair.[1] It was started in response to an interview where Huey P. Newton, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, was asked what white people could do to support the Black Panthers. Newton replied that they could form a White Panther Party. The group took the name and dedicated its energies to "cultural revolution." Sinclair made every effort to ensure that the White Panthers were not mistaken for a white supremacist group, responding to such claims with "quite the contrary." The party worked with many ethnic minority rights groups in the Rainbow Coalition.
The Rainbow Coalition was a coalition active in the late 1960s and early 1970s, founded in Chicago, Illinois by Fred Hampton of the activist Black Panther Party, along with William "Preacherman" Fesperman, Jack (Junebug) Boykin, Bobby Joe Mcginnis and Hy Thurman of the Young Patriots Organization and Jose (Cha-Cha) Jimenez, the Puerto Rican founder of the Young Lords.

it's too bad that was all you guys got out of this video. whether you agree with her or not, what is staggeringly important here are the cries of support that she gets from the rest of the audience and the fact that her sentiments are shared by A LOT of people in this country right now.

things is gettin fo realz yea'll...
it's eye opening how economic manipulation and slow and steady oppression can do what it's designed to do... make people freak out and start acting like animals cussing and snake-neckin at the podium... without even realizing they're being made to do it...

Otherwise she has some valid points about OPD, and every other PD for that matter.

Don't confuse the Black Panthers with the New Black Panther Party or the Nation of Islam. Just sayin there's a big difference.

i think racism is weak and only hurts us all by dividing us but i can understand where she is coming from. she feels war is being waged on her community. from her point of view, her community must unite or die.
besides, 95% of her message had more to do with economics than race.
