If you implement the NHS correctly you can reproduce the IMPACTS to a very limited degree that Wayne creted,but this is a limited application translated into a System of Play.
It IS POSSIBLE to simply go find your own Wayne Gretzky level player and set him loose on the NHL.
In 30 minutes in a room full of NHL Players and prospects I could determine if there was this type of influence in the room in short order,following the NHS protocals it would take anyone else a day.

For the benefit of the Flames we will start with the NewAge Hockey Systems basic Template for NHL OPTIMAL sucess .
It will seem like review for NHS followers but seeing as we are in we might as well do this right.
#1...You need a solid System of play which has produced at least averge NHL results over the last 5 years.The particular focus is not relevant..defensive-offensive...its all the same.If you dont currently posses this particular level of Pro Hockey System....then move the Earth and get one,just look around and pick,the average results part of the equation is simply to compenste for league evolution and officiting trends,why waste time re-inventing the wheel huh?Systems evolve with the league there is no reason to get hung up on the decison beyond average NHL winning results,unless you have a defensive or offensive fetish it doesnt matter what flavor the Ice-Cream is.
#2......You need a Coach with HIS team of support staff who HAVE produced average NHL results over the last 5 years working together.This integrity means the new System you will give them will simply be an adjustment for them all,not a big deal for an established Crew.The numbers or applications of this support staff matter not, titles matter not, what matters is that the Coaches message is congruent and is seamlessly communicated in whatever language-code-or method the group has developed.I dont care if there are 2 men on the bench using American sign language or 5 men behind the bench speaking Swahili......as long as they can pass the baton consistantly for 82 games.
#3........You need a roster of men with a minimum of averge NHL physical and cerebral skill levels in ALL areas.The more skill the better,if you can throw together 23 offensive smurfs we will take them to the Stanley Cup as long as they all have minimum average skillsets,no weak links.Kid yourself not,skill wins games when all things are equal,it IS not a primary driver but it is higher octane fuel and lets you do things others cannot and this is ALWAYS an advantage.
#4............You need a CATALYST,a CAUSE, something REAL...TRUE....HONEST....TANGIBLE..and integrity driven that EveryMan can and will believe in.The Coach isnt enough,the Pictures and momentos in the room will not cut it,Sidney Crosby or Ovie WILL NOT CUT IT,you need something EVERYONE will buy into 100% so it must be NEW TO ALL.
#5...............You need a Leader,someone who has no vested interest in anything but WINNING NOW,the motivation is less important than the passion and drive, could be money could be love but it better be red hot and cooking,not someone who is an established long term piece of the structure,someone NEW who has blinders on,who has one single vision and focus moving forward and producing consistant and immedite winning results.
Improvements arent good enough,Growth isnt good enough,Developement isnt good enough.It is time to WIN.The NHL is a WINNERS LEAGUE.....everything worth gunning for is results based.

I like the look, I like the comittment to toughness and to spilling blood if needed to win Games.But I am afraid it will mean a LOT OF WORK in a few key areas EARLY in the Season, it is a flavor and that is all it is,pepper is as good as vanilla ,just keep er straight and consistant and we can work with it.The amount of adjusting the Coaches want to do will be up to them,the more of a particular flavor you want the MORE the rest of the mix of management inputs must be adjusted ,the longer they must be worked to get an acceptable consistancy.Toughness is a strong flavor and must be tightly policed and never allowed to overwhelm the entire dish.
You cannot Coach tough,practise tough,and play tough,it doesnt work that way,statistics might say it works that way but the NHS says NOT.
You may choose one flavor, ANY ONE WILL DO....but....you only get one kiddo.We are looking for consistancy now remember,flavor doesnt matter.

It is AS HARD to execute a winning System and be the toughest NHL team as it is to do it being the most offensive or defensive NHL team,being at the TOP of a SUB-CATEGORY of tangible NHL impacts guarantees opportunity to excell if you follow the right superior Program.And opportunity is ALWAYS what we are after pro-actively.

Watch Forrest griffen and Rampage Jackson in UFC 86,and think of the NHLs TOUGHEST team as being the LEG KICKS Forrest throws, EVERYTHING ABOUT THEM starting before the fight when he developed his gameplan prior to training for the bout.

The Player I feel by NHS guidance will have the most improved season this year will be Nail Yakupov,I predict a 40 Goal season catalysed by multiple
goal games.
I believe Ramsay will not be biased even if Eakins always will be, this means that Ramsay WILL NOT be derelict in using his top assets and bucking hard immediatly if they are not being OPTIMISED.
Yakupov is already a legitimate NHL goal scorer and will be wherever he plays ,and he will now be an NHLer as long as he chooses to,he has established enough to make it.
He is a lethal positional scorer who can shoot effectively from a static position better than most.
He looks for holes,not flowing seams in developing playactions,he is very much like Kessler is,it is not hard to integrte his tendancies into ANY system,Dallas is just a putz and so is his crew for not doing what Ralph Krueger was able to do.
Nail Yakupov had worked his arse off to create the same dual impacts Hall and RNH created for themselves, he had an impactfull first year[pro-rated] and established himself as a one-shot scoring threat.....he had d-men backing in,and he was positioning himself to have another FULL SEASON to make himself KNOWN is that one-shot scorer every Winning Team must have.Nail has done his job and pulled his share of the Wagon his entire NHL career.
Eakins is a joker, he is a Clown at times, his obvious man-crush on Yakupov shocked us all, the NHL as well,heck teams were already pencilling the name Yakupov into their pre-game defensive schemes , but they ALL DREW UNIFIED SIGHS OF RELIEF when they realised Eakins was dumb enough to run the good things Krueger had going into the dirt.
Ramsay is his own Judge and Jury,he is more than the Oilers could have hoped for.
I am calling it right now,the Oilers brought Ramsay in to ADD a specific type of offensive acumen....however.....they UNDER-ESTIMATED how much tangible control he would require to achieve this impact, he WILL have to CHANGE Dallases Systems.....every last one of them......and frequently.....so frequently that Eakins will be LOST COMPLETELY BY THE TENTH GAME OF THE SEASON.
If Ramsay is going to help Eakins produce winns he will need to show him what a legitimate NHL Coach can produce in terms of speed of read and reacts and tactical manouvering,ALL areas Dallas drasticlly under-performed in last season,he got a lot right ,but they were all peripheral things which did not work or come together for the roster for whatever reasons.
This means that Craig CANNOT let Dallas bury himself AND the Team early on,he will need to be holding more of the Wheel than Eakins OR it might be an early crash and burn again.
Craig will need to get the bike rolling first before he jumps off and allows Dallas to try it at NHL SPEEDS.
The reason I bothered to flesh this dynamic out is BASIC....Craig Ramsay WILL NOT let his pride or lack of experience force him to make derelict player asset decisions.
THIS is why the NHS says Nail Yakupov will score 40+ goals this coming season.
He cannot be buried or under-or-misused by a legitimate NHL level Manager,this means that "IF" CRAIG RAMSAY is MORE than a "YesMan" BEAUTIFULL things will happen.
If Dallas is to survive,he will need to WIN like a starving man trying to butt in on Oprah at the Buffet line,and if he collapses faster than a Cheap Tarts Knickers again he will likely be taken on a short walk down a long path and be Oilers history as a Buyout.
The NHS is there if he Mans up,always has been there under proper circumstances.
I see Bogdan "Big Rig" Yakimov playing wing this season and eventually working his way up into the top 9 possibly at Center. Big-Rig is a BEAST on the dot,I have watched videos and am certain he is already as good as Gordon and because the NHL is gravitating AWAY from the low drag face-offs, the BIG MANS Game will now evolve a little more,smaller players will need to pick pucks out of the air to compete .
I dont want to burst anyones bubbles,but I think "Big Rig" is the Oilers next Mark Messier.He is going to impact the Oilers this season.
If he can dominate in the FO circle and the Oilers can get him Oates to mentor both Dre' and the "Big Rig" then the Oilers COULD be in a position to seriously challenge the BIG THREE in the West.
The NHS boils it down to simple basics,......does the man posses AVERAGE NHL skillsets physiclly and cerebrally as a hint not many fail the Cerebral part of the test at least not if they can Walk and Chew Bubble Gum at the same time.
MOST of the men in TR.Camp are AVERAGE NHL SKILLSETS IN BOTH AREAS .
The men who will earn roster spots will need to DOMINATE in a tangible area of the game in ways which will project directly into the NHL Game,DOMINATE,the area isnt important as long as the man is AVERAGE everywhere else.
I do not see ANYONE who is going to out-dimension the Package that IS Bogdan "Big-Rig" Yakimov in Training Camp,so only the Management can be derelict and stop him from breaking in cleanly out of camp for his 9 games.
If he didnt have the scoring touch and speed then he would not be so high on the NHSs hit-list,but the NewAge Hockey System believes in OPTIMAL RESULTS so the more tangible areas of the NHL level game that a players is already ABOVE AVERAGE in to begin with the greater chance of creating an early positive roster impact will be.
Bogdan is already above NHL average in an OILERS CORE AREA THAT IS WEAK....FACEOFFS...he is also above average at scoring goals which is what some new guys brought in were expected to bring into the equation, and also above average projecting his MASSIVE Frame with....FINESSE... and this means he is impactfull but NOT a smash and bang penalty magnet.The "Big-Rig" is VERY HARD to get the puck off of,he is a Finesse-type BigMan and WILL look for offense at all times and school you if you blink.
The skills Yakimov has can become top 6 impacts if he is used in the right ways in a possesion type system,no one is stopping him not even in the NHL,so he will be MAKING LOTS OF ROOM out there for someone very lucky because when you can force a defense to double team you [his scoring does that]EVERY PLAYACTION like "BIG-RIG" does then there is ALWAYS A BACK-DOOR BARRACUDA LIKE YAKUPOV OR EBERLE TO CLEAN UP THE SCRAPS CONSISTANTLY.

I believe Ramsay will not be biased even if Eakins always will be, this means that Ramsay WILL NOT be derelict in using his top assets and bucking hard immediatly if they are not being OPTIMISED.
Yakupov is already a legitimate NHL goal scorer and will be wherever he plays ,and he will now be an NHLer as long as he chooses to,he has established enough to make it.
He is a lethal positional scorer who can shoot effectively from a static position better than most.
He looks for holes,not flowing seams in developing playactions,he is very much like Kessler is,it is not hard to integrte his tendancies into ANY system,Dallas is just a putz and so is his crew for not doing what Ralph Krueger was able to do.
Nail Yakupov had worked his arse off to create the same dual impacts Hall and RNH created for themselves, he had an impactfull first year[pro-rated] and established himself as a one-shot scoring threat.....he had d-men backing in,and he was positioning himself to have another FULL SEASON to make himself KNOWN is that one-shot scorer every Winning Team must have.Nail has done his job and pulled his share of the Wagon his entire NHL career.
Eakins is a joker, he is a Clown at times, his obvious man-crush on Yakupov shocked us all, the NHL as well,heck teams were already pencilling the name Yakupov into their pre-game defensive schemes , but they ALL DREW UNIFIED SIGHS OF RELIEF when they realised Eakins was dumb enough to run the good things Krueger had going into the dirt.
Ramsay is his own Judge and Jury,he is more than the Oilers could have hoped for.
I am calling it right now,the Oilers brought Ramsay in to ADD a specific type of offensive acumen....however.....they UNDER-ESTIMATED how much tangible control he would require to achieve this impact, he WILL have to CHANGE Dallases Systems.....every last one of them......and frequently.....so frequently that Eakins will be LOST COMPLETELY BY THE TENTH GAME OF THE SEASON.
If Ramsay is going to help Eakins produce winns he will need to show him what a legitimate NHL Coach can produce in terms of speed of read and reacts and tactical manouvering,ALL areas Dallas drasticlly under-performed in last season,he got a lot right ,but they were all peripheral things which did not work or come together for the roster for whatever reasons.
This means that Craig CANNOT let Dallas bury himself AND the Team early on,he will need to be holding more of the Wheel than Eakins OR it might be an early crash and burn again.
Craig will need to get the bike rolling first before he jumps off and allows Dallas to try it at NHL SPEEDS.
The reason I bothered to flesh this dynamic out is BASIC....Craig Ramsay WILL NOT let his pride or lack of experience force him to make derelict player asset decisions.
THIS is why the NHS says Nail Yakupov will score 40+ goals this coming season.

Pouliot- Draisaitl- Eberle.................Eberle has no idea what it will be like recieving saucer passes from Dre' he is very different from Nuge not quite as visionary but more bullish and direct....they will click and Ebbs will be scoring some serious goals with some serious talent from the 3rd line position,this line should EAT up the opposition.
Gadzic- Gordon- Hendricks............... I want more offense but this is what Eakins and Ramsay need,a breather from the pressure ha ha ha.We will call this the Coaches Life-Line because it is what keeps them breathing smoothly,ha ha ha ha.

What difference does the size of NHL players have on the game itself?
Simple, the bigger the men are the easier it is for them to play a set play System where real estate is critical, the smaller the men the easier it is for them to play a creative System where holding real-estate is not critical at all.
The Oilers have shot themselves in the foot again with a polar opposite screwed up interpretation of concept.
They are hopeless.
Now they are infusing their line-up on a developmentel basis with BIG BODIES who will easily fit into Eakins gameplan and skillset.

Nuge,the shots from the right side only are severely limiting your scoring threat[and tactical planning] and teams know it,you need to circle behind
the net more ,bring your forehand around to the opposite side and your linemates need to give you an SERIOUS pass option on the right side you
vacate,you need to use this pass option 75% of the time,then pick goals 25% of the time,it has to be a deadly play and you NEED it.
On the left side Nuge you can use your backhand as your pass primary outlet IMMEDIATLY if there is no forehand shot,come round driving for a forehend shot position keep em tight on you and then catch em in transition like W.G used to with the backhand pass cross-crease.That was how W.G established is game, he had this template down pat.

give up possesion of the puck,the days of the set-play dump-in are over.
There will still be a LOT of Eastern Teams using old Systems,so its not like you cant earn your way to the show using olde school tactics,just be aware that come Playoffs you will be facing teams using the NHS.
