Make sure that you give them plenty of *cough* blankets *cough* as they go off to start their new lives. Try to not give them the infected ones.
Possibly give them some whiskey too.

Oh, and make sure you don't hunt close to extinction their main food supply.

Ah....yes....sorry...you did that already.

History. We hide that information in books.

Oh, look. Is that the same rug you swept that part of your history under?

What happened in the past, is just that in the past. Its atrocious and the Native Americans deserve some kind of recompense, and its nuts that we interfere in their casinos as is.

Now heres the BUT, there is no way its practical in any way shape or form and it wont happen in any form, No ones giving up land.

But sadly the Indians where counquered, savagely yes, unfairly yes, but where is the call to give back the territory to Mexico?

What off Australian natives? Or Canada, I hear their natives arn't treated very well there either, wheres the Un taking a stand on those?

I wonder... If I tell the UN F**K YOU, will I be a terrorist?
Lol, seriously, just a few years ago, they were completely impotent but in the last few years, it seems that theyve gained a bit of recognition.

My problem is this.

What is America doing for the Native Americans NOW ?

NOT A DAMN THING.

That is a tragedy.

Visit a Reservation. You will see.

This is not about the Canadian Indians or the Australian Aboriginals......it's about AMERICAN Native Indians.

I agree much land needs to be returned to the Indians. We were totally barbaric just like the Spanish in Mexico. But more relevant, where is the call for Israel to return land to the Palestinians?

Honestly, they are doing nothing... Indian Reservations suffer some of the highest rates of suicide, alcoholism and drug use in the US.
Ira Hayes, one of the marines that raised the flag on Iwo, died in a ditch on a Reservation from alcoholism.

Agree.

America has never truly taken care of its native peoples.

Its not about money,or lands. Its about respecting, and learning from the Native Americans,in their quest to keep their traditions, their heritage alive . We have failed as a Nation doing so. Now giving them back their lands? If the UN knew anything about the American Indians still alive, they are so scattered,so few, that it would be impossible to do it. America can and should clean up the reservations, with all the quality and money we spend on defense . They should be provided with education, and expenses .The least this country, could do,for its indigenous peoples.

That is a very difficult question you ask.

My immediate response is YES,we should.
But they should ask that question across the world, not just the USA.
How about Australia?
India,Africa? the list goes on.
How about the rest of the countries that have been pillaged.
We could even bring the Vatican in the picture.
Conquests and acquiring land.
I again ask ,what was done in the past, can it be righted or does it stand as it was already done.
What is right and what is wrong.
We know it now,but back when it happened?

In reality,we,as humanity should correct our past faults and set things right.
Will it happen,probably not.
Should it happen,yes,I think so.
That is in essence is the down fall of humanity.
To make amends, but not at the discomfort of what is now..........

If I remember my history, we bought Manhattan for some glass beads. We also bought about half the country from the French. Therefore, France sold something that did not belong to them. This calls for another investigation and the investigators should be investigated and the investigators that are heading the investigation of the original investigation should also be investigated as well. Congratulations to the Useless Nations for all their investigative insight.
and Mexico dosent get anything back because they stole it from the Indians in the first place

What will they do for the poor Eskimos eating whale blubber to stay warm? Hey wait, we bought that from Russia. This issue is getting more complicated. Just goes to show how much better off you are without the Useless Nations.

In the UN's case, someone should investigate the US government for its' poor treatment of NA peoples.

Unless you're perfectly fine with governments coming in, poisoning the people already there, stealling their land and then killing them off slowly via disease and poverty?

I think I made my opinion perfectly clear. Should something be done? Yes. Is it the UN's issue? No.
There are so many issues past and present that this useless organization could concern itself with, yet it chooses to bring this up now?

If any country were to be doing to their indigenous people what the US government did to the native Americans I'm sure the state department would be mobilizing the troops.
Remember "Shrub's" (small Bush) speech on Saddam's treatment of his people (especially the Kurds)?
Any difference between that and the smallpox blankets?
So he made reparations to the indigenous Americans? Nope. He bombed Baghdad. It made more money for his friends.

The sooner we realize that we're all on the same planet, the better. History isn't only in the past.

All this anti-UN nonsense is just that.

I don't see anyone talking about the plight of NAs. Instead, they're all focused on their UN-bashing as taught by Uncle Rupert and the rest of the right-wingtards.
