N. Korea: We are no longer bound by nuclear test moratorium

rt.com

Pyongyang says it is “no longer bound to” its deal with the US, which provided a nuclear and missile test moratorium in return for food aid. The move comes in retaliation to the UN’s criticism of North Korea's failed satellite launch.
The UN Security Council (UNSC) condemned North Korea for last Friday’s rocket launch, which was widely regarded as a cover up to test a long range nuclear missile.

I think we all saw tbis comming but i am not sure about the "undisguised hostike acts"?

And what do they mean by "take measures"?

"As the US violated the February 29 [North Korea-US] agreement through its undisguised hostile acts, we will no longer be bound to it," the statement said as quoted by Reuters.

Now the North Korea, free from the agreement, has "become able to take necessary retaliatory measures." The statement did not elaborate on exact measures.

Oh Excellent!! love them for this. Pugsley has decided he no longer needs to honor or respect the treaty they signed. Well... Dandy. I no longer feel the need to honor or care about the fact his people are starving. When they get hungry enough they'll remove his fat butt from power and put him back into the adult daycare he came from. Or..they can starve..

If he wants to go playing with nukes like they're firecrackers though...He and his whole nation can rot on the vine and starve right to death for all I care. The world needs this clown and his crap like we need the 2nd coming right now.

I really hope they unite Korea and kick the Americans out.

Its nobodies business what they do.

Its also kind of moot. They are right there near China. They wont do anything drastic without the ok of China.

The South does not love America as much as everyone thinks. They scream "Yankee go home"

So is this one of those times we were watching the right hand when we should have been watching the left?

From what I can tell, these guys can't build a rocket to get past the clouds to save themselves.

These idiots can stomp their feet and march in unison all day, but launch a rock? FAIL.

I do not see them as being a threat... they'll probably nuke themselves.

I'd love to live in north korea for a while as I'm starting to put on weight, I think a 'regime-diet' would soon shift my beer belly.

Seriously though, these guys are the real deal when it comes to popping a nuke in anger, my money's on them, they are f**king crazy.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already on ATS but I heard recently somewhere (I think it was a Coast to Coast interview) that Iranian nuclear scientists were present for the failed launch in North Korea...give me a minute to see if I can locate a source. If true, definitely makes one wonder about the implications

Based on what? Why do you people keep saying that?

What have they ever done since the Korean War?

Also they are nowhere near America. On the other side of the planet. I would worry about South America if I was you guys. Pretty much everyone hates America but South America is on your doorstep. Worry about them.

Funny enough its what people said about Germany and bam several years later they had the V1 and V2 without any real issues apart from failures and we all know, practice makes perfect. Getting back on topic, you might want to look at the U.S. and Soviet tests and tests before they got it right..!

Washington pulled strings in the Council in order to rob Pyongyang of its right to conduct space research, the statement said.

Loll, The USA is always robbing lands or pulling strings to oppress people for its evil purposes, it is the American way.

Text"As the US violated the February 29 [North Korea-US] agreement through its undisguised hostile acts, we will no longer be bound to it," the statement said as quoted by Reuters.

China has a much reduced influence of late, hence why they are fully behind the UNSC and it's statement.

Chinese warships also joined those of Russia, SK and the US searching for the missile that exploded last week, trying to find evidence it was actually a missile and not a sat launch as claimed by NK.

China isn't NK's friend anymore and are far more interested in regional stability, which NK is threatening.

I disagree.

China is just playing you guys. They have been for ages. Its so they can play your games and veto stuff. They hate you. They also intend on being sole-super power.

They play your game so they can beat you at it. Thats all.

And North Korea is China's only friend in the region. Their next best friend is us. Australia.

Edit- And if you knew anything at all about regional politics in this part of the world you would know that China does not get along with the rest of its Asian neighbours too well at all. They cannot afford to turn their backs on their long standing ally. Their only true ally. To suggest they are is naive.

Oh dear, you really believe their your "friend"? They just want your coal, iron and other minerals.

Anyhoo, China is aware of it's role on the world stage now and wouldn't back such string words from the UNSC lightly. They're not playing, they see NK as a genuine threat to regional stability, which is paramount to them.

From your comments though, it does seem like your a bit out of touch with the actual situation and instead have a fantasy you wish to see played out, namely China knocking the US for six and, it would appear, Australia being their little pet.
