I'm in a strange position here. I have disagreed with you a lot previously, in this thread and others, but I think you stated this quite well. Even though I am not of your faith anymore, I do think it's good the way you have clarified this to lonewolf. I am quite able to see past any differences I have with someone to acknowledge when they have done well. But yeah, the way I remember learning it, you stated it very well.

Oh and you are so right about being made to feel like you've done something wrong if you don't speak in tongues. I remember having my pastor in my face telling me if I have the Holy Spirit in me, then I CAN speak tongues. He said it is evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. There were a great many things wrong with that church and it's leadership.

You don't think telling me that nobody here likes me, including Christians, is hateful? Or at the very least, disrespectful?

And I am not putting on an act, this is how I live my life.

I regularly invite strangers into my home, perform random acts of kindness, charity, and giving,
and I regularly pray for enemies and people who persecute me, and regularly forgive everyone for transgressions on me

This is no act, it's my life, and it's a testament to the power of Christ

Bless you for understanding and being kind to me

Hehe... I won't leave, I love this stuff! But I just meant what has been brought up previously in the thread. I have no outstanding issues or questions that I can think of at the moment. I'm glad you are willing though, and I will keep that in mind.

Again I only see it as frustration. You yourself said that sometimes the message gets misunderstood at times, in the interest of making a point.

For what else you stated about the way you live your life, I do the same. I am not a Christian now, and before I was a Christian I did the same things. I do love people, and I help them when I can. I have even given rides to people when I was actually a little worried it might not be the best thing to do. I just wanted to help. I care about people and I don't like how Christians assume it is not genuine if you are not a Christian. I am embarrassed to say I used to think that myself, because we were taught that if someone is not a Christian and is doing these things they must be trying to earn their salvation rather than trusting in Christ.

Still not buyin it,

The guy flat out said he didn't like me, and noone else here likes me,

If we were in person, and I was the old me, and we were in a bar or something, I would say, "them be fightin words",

I think he should apologize for being so rude and disrespectful,

but I wont demand it, and I forgive him regardless, and I will pray for him and forgive him and love him even if he comes back and says more angry words towards me,

I want you to understand autowrench.....

no matter what you do, I will not fight with you, no matter what you say, I will not stop praying for you

Amen

Hello everyone. Looks like we have a pretty tense thread.

Let's all remember that civility is still required. Please make sure that we use civility at all times and stop the back and forth insults and bickering.

Posts beyond this note will be removed if they attack a fellow member.

Thanks!

I appreciate your kind words, and I even challenge the doctrine of mom's denomination, and I make EVERYONE mad from time to time. My gift is that of prophet and if you remember how they were accepted by Israel in the OT.. lol, wasn't too good for us. HA Thank God Jezebel is dog food today, or it would be too good for me.

But the Charismatics need their chain yanked too for error, no denomination is correct, and many things needs addressed in the body of Christ. Why do you think there are so many denominations?? Someone gets upset and runs off to start their own church, then after a couple generations goofy stuff comes in and takes root as "tradition" (see mark 7) Yes, tongues are an evidence, for some folks, not for others. We should be fruit inspectors, not gift inspectors. Make sense?

God Bless,

NuT

Yes Ma'am.

So glad you're back in these parts btw. Need your contributions more, you are a blessing to have in the religious forums, not merely as a mod, but sharing your faith and defending truth. We veteran old-school BTS members miss ya!

Hope to see you more Ashley.

I didn't mean it like that. I have about 400+ threads in my file where I'm the last poster still waiting for a response from someone.

Maybe you should ask yourself - - why that is.

It's interesting you say that he should apologize for being so rude and disrespectful. I find it very rude and disrespectful for you to do something that concerns my soul against my will. I specifically asked you not to pray for me:

You know, I wasn't going to respond to this but it keeps rolling around in my head. Don't pray for me please. I don't want to follow your god. I don't care how bad that sounds.
You Christians think you are doing a loving thing by praying that we change our minds and open our hearts to believe like you do, but really, is it loving? How about if I was a pagan and I thought you would be immensely better off and in touch with your spirit side or whatever that I start praying to my deities for you to turn your ways around and come to what I believe to be the truth and the better way? Would you be happy about me praying that for you? No? Well it is what I think is best for you. I love you and want you to be happy, so I will pray to a god or goddess that I relate to for your "salvation" from your sins of only believing in Jesus for salvation.

Unfortunately, I have many people in my life praying for me to return to Jesus. I don't want to, and I didn't make the decision lightly. I have thought long and hard and had a tough time figuring it out. Sort of. The toughest part was that I would be leaving a way of life that many of my loved ones would be terribly distraught over. I have so much to say here, but this will suffice for now.

To which you IMMEDIATELY responded:

I'll keep praying for you, and keep praying that your family and friends keep praying for you as well.

Your human pride and ego can be dissolved in an instant by the Almighty,

Have some faith, and fear not

That's ok, I won't demand an apology. If you were really apologetic then you would have said so when I replied:

LOL! Wow, you don't love me. I asked you to stop and you immediately said you would do against my wishes what I asked you not to! Just. Wow. *shakes head*

And, oh yeah, I am not afraid. No need to try to get me to 'fear not.'

Telling me to stop praying for you,

is like asking God to stop breathing for you,

it's not gonna happen.

and I make no judgements on your soul, I have never said you would not goto heaven, and if I had to judge by your posts, you're probably on your way to Paradise...I just want to help ensure you get there.

Amen

Wow, did you read what I wrote? If you did then there is no point in discussing this. You are totally disregarding my wishes on this. That is rude, arrogant, and just unbelievable to me that you responded this way.

I am debating with myself about whether I should post this or not, because I don't want to argue, but I just can't believe the way you are disregarding anything I say it seems. It feels wrong NOT to address it.

*Thinks twice, thrice even about posting* *hesitates* *decides to do it*

Man! I couldn't agree more! I don't want these kinds of people meditating on my being and projecting their bias, judgment, punishment, hate, pity, pride, condescension......you get it!

These people that say "I'll pray for you" make me throw up in my mouth a little. My mom, rip, used to pray for bad things to happen to me so that I would see the error of my ways. And, if something didn't go wrong on it's own, she would interfere and covertly sabotage my efforts, to validate her prophecy.

Father I pray Ellie reads this post,

Father I pray Ellie sees through the fog created by the enemy and the world,

Father I pray you open Ellies eyes to the truth and reality around her (him?),

Father I pray she sees I am doing this out of love, none of the negative emotions her or the other poster said,

Father forgive these souls, they know not what they say against your tender Love and Mercy,

Grant them eternity in Paradise regardless of there beliefs or there prejudices or judgements, and hold them not accountable for there sins, for your Son Jesus Christ payed the price for them already,

Lord God Christ Almighty, I believe in your mercy and faithfulness, and trust you will hearken to my cries,

Amen
