Stop the christian hate

There's way too much christian hate going on in this site. People always picking on Jesus and his believers. It's like this, you folks must get your rocks off throwing stumbling blocks in front of believers' paths just so you can get pleasure watching one of us fall, so dull are your lives that you have nothng better to do.

If you do not believe Jesus so what? So people need something to believe in when they die, so that they can die in peace and not be afraid of death. Do you people really find it your calling in life to take away from these people the very last vestiges of HOPE in their lives? Do you want everyone to be just like you? One more walking zombie?

So you're not afraid of death (so you say), if thats the case...go kill yourself, because your life has no meaning, and it does not matter and you're just as dead now as you would be 30 years down the road. You people are already dead you just haven't caught up to that fact yet. All that you ever were will cease to exist, and you will be forgotten, and your names will pass from history and the memory of you will fade into oblivion. Existence has no meaning for you, and you have no more hope for anything except to know that one day worms will eat your corpse.

Better to live with hope and die in hope than to live in hopelessness and die an equally hopeless death.

Well if you can't take a fart joke and turn the other cheek why do you think I'm hating on it? Christians are one of the worlds most overbearing religions and it's only natural you'll get flak your way since not everyone is going to care about the minutiae of one sect or another.



Christians want to feel special about being chosen by God, sorry, that role was already taken by the Jews. If you're waiting for the second coming of Christ gotta hand it to them, they're still waiting for the first Messiah that would actually make a difference that requires no more unanswered prayers.

I have no idea why the op is asking for people to stop things that cause blessings to rain down on us from heaven, he should be doing some Halel praise right about now.

- Women's rights are under assault;

- Gays are being denied the right to marry the person they love;

- Distrust of muslims is increasing;

What do they have in common? All are largely being attacked by christians.

When christians show contempt for the rights of others, it's only natural that those others will reflect that negativity back to you.

Stop right there. All religious people of all faiths are over-bearing and self-righteous, Jesus didn't come to die so we could start the Christian version of Judaism. There is a big difference between the invisible body of Christ and organized religion. True Christianity is about an intimate personal relationship with God through Christ, not a list of rules.

Don't look at the Pharisees and miss Christ. Check my signature if you don't understand the difference between "religion" as it's practiced today in this age and true apostolic Christianity.

-- Gays aren't allowed to marry in Muslim nations, moot point.

-- Muslims have been killing the other factions in their religions for centuries. In case you haven't watched the news lately Sunnis and Shiites are murdering each other constantly.

What do you mean by people picking on Jesus and his believers?

If you are referring to non-religious users who just walk into a thread and make an insulting comment, I've seen that and I agree its quite annoying. It also violates the rules of the ATS religion section.

If you mean people who debate over scripture.... then I think you are over-reacting by calling it 'hate". If a particular thread or post challenges your beliefs, the least you can do is ignore it.

That said, I think christians need to lose their "persecution complex" because of posts made on an internet forum.

I know this cartoon is from an atheist perspective, but the message accurately describes a large number of christians I've encountered on forums.

That cartoon says it all.

There are too many Christians that think it's their duty to charge into every thread waving their Bible. For example, if an atheist starts a thread to talk about atheism, then the Christians shouldn't post to that thread unless they want to really talk and think with other people.

That would help a lot I think.

I take issue with this part of what you said. I am not hopeless. I do not live a meaningless existence. Just because I don't believe the same way you do, does not mean that I will leave no trace of my existence. I did not and still do not and will never live in a way that makes no difference in people's lives. I am not afraid of death, but that does not make me dead now. Actually, Christians shouldn't be afraid of death either if their hope is in Jesus. So..... Where does that leave you?

It seems that you started a thread just to hate on those of us who do not believe the same way you do.

I have faith that the Christians who frequent this forum have the wits to see through the lies and deception of all the new age garbage and atheistic nonsense...

I do worry a little about someone who's new in the faith stumbling across a post here and getting sucked in and falling, as you say.....
