I never feared hell and have always been a good person. I said sorry 50 million times cause the crazy religious right on this site had a huge problem with me cause I fit into a vague prophecy. Why would anyone fear hell that's silly. Religion installs strong morals and values into people . Part of this is my fault cause this site flipped out over something that doesn't even make any sense, hopefully other people can see that.

If you have no feeling left for life then you haven't lived yet! You've been merely existing for a long time and all that this moment is about is that you have finally realised it. You haven't had enjoyment, you haven't been adventurous in the longest time. You are dragging yourself around and you are in the deepest rut! All you need to do, and it's simple... find a purpose.

Life is sweet... it is beautiful, but you need to find life first.

Yes you need physical activity, but it may just be putting your ipod on really loud and doing stupid moves in the kitchen while cooking. It may actually mean cooking. Cooking is theraputic, it is about putting together the stuff that fuels your body. Once you start doing it properly, you start fueling your body responsibly. STOP!

There is nothing to move forward towards if there is nothing to make you smile. There is nothing to make you smile if you don't have love... find love... There are orphanages, homes, where children can do with a cricket lesson... you can get so roped in in no time. You can do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result... or you can do something different.

Life is so worth living... enjoy the ride....

I can relate to what you are saying. That's not to say that I KNOW what you are going through- only you can truly know that. But I do understand what you are saying. What I would like to say is that your opinion that nothing matters and that it's all ilusion is pretty spot on. Having said that, it doesn't mean that YOU don't matter. In your life you matter entirely. Just because you realize that we are just animals living on a rock tumbling through space doesn't mean that your life is worthless. What is worthless is the nonsense around us. Perhaps you should spend more time in nature and see how the other animals cope with life-without-ilusion. It's not you- it's the world around you that's effed up. Look to nature. If there's any inspiration for you, I believe it will be there. best of luck to you, my friend.

I suppose life could change and be better if one were to have an animal companion I suppose mine personally would be better if I did. I kind of want a cat at this point perhaps then I'd find a point to life making sure that the cat survives as I'd treat it like a child. Maybe I'll save some money up and rescue a cat or something...Guess that's the first step to giving my life some meaning.

The Draconian Reptilians reportedly came through a "black hole" from another Universe into this Universe a loong loong time ago, reportedly settled down at Draco star system, lots of them reportedly travelled to other star systems and wiped out ancient humans who lived on other star systems, some of these Draconian Reptilians reportedly also arrived to Earth about 800000 years ago to control Earth-humans, and rumors says the alliance of Greys and Draconian Reptilians were planning to take over the Earth. Reportedly, the final cleanup phase of this war, and beyond, for Earth's freedom, the Andromeda Council medical team is working tirelessly, and will continue to do so, to clean up the mess, the implants, the resulting spiritual, psychological & emotional impact & damage, and multiple problems the Greys have created as they have unlawfully sought to enslave an unaware human population on this planet. And Peggy Kane also explains that Humanity will once again be free.

Life's only pointless when you try to rationalize it as if you're more than just another hungry, horny mammal, looking to procreate and live out the majority of your life cycle without too much suffering.

Try not to think so much. Some people can't handle the reality that we really aren't just hungry and horny mammals.

Hello morpheusxxz

There are already so many wise and good responses for you, yet mine may just add some small additional view.

Ever read the I Ching (usually pronounced wrongly, rather than correctly Yee Jing)? It is usually viewed as a tool of divination but personally I respect it simply a written version of the rules of Nature in her completest sense. Still, to stick with the divination idea just for a while to explain this a bit further, coins (typically) were and are still used to plot values that direct the person concerned to a particular part of the 64 step sequence of the I Ching cycle. Guidance is then derived from what the I Ching has to say about that step or phase. OK, this is stated a bit simplistically but is generally correct.

Now back to the real wisdom of the I Ching and the Tao which it documents. Everything, that is everything in existence follows cyclic patterns that define the state of being of wherever that particular thing it is at any time. The problem is that there are always multiple cycles that are influencing everything at any time and no simplistic analysis can define the state of any "anything", nor conveniently offer simple advice or a solution for any state that might seem problematic. Still, the I Ching offers guidance that can be of great help.

In broad brushstrokes, we as a specific "anything" may be at a point where most cycles that govern our well-being (lets call it that) may be synchronising at an ebb and our outlook and emotions will probably be very flat. Motion and turbulence are minimal, mentally and physically. It seems you are here now. The I Ching will then suggest a time of conservation ...

This is the point of conservation of energy. All but the last physical and mental resources are used up. Excess action or overactive thought will achieve only defeat. It remains better to conserve effort for the last moments before rebirth.

So it is like an exhausted person trying to exert him or herself. It is indeed self defeating. The fact that you even made the effort to post this thread means the spark is still there. Conserve it. As crazy as this sounds, this is the time to do nothing. Do nothing and all will get done. This is not magic, just an understanding of the cycles of Nature. No reasoning or planning or motivating or trying will bring on the spring. Just accept what is and it will arrive after you sense...
..the complete, pure emptiness. This is not a negative emptiness, but a supreme nothingness, a moment before all time, a readiness for rebirth and germination, a new beginning from nothing.

This is not a promise, a motivation, an encouragement or any such thing.

it is only an explanation offered in humility and you are still the only one who can see it through

Conserve. It is the watchword

Ijo

Spend some of your free time helping animals. Talk about a value and giving self worth... This will give you a purpose and a sense of value. I would guess to you this sounds like a joke but I wthink you would be surprised. Life the way most the people live it is pretty pointless, it's just carrying on the human race. I don't know, good luck.

I keep seeing this advice being offered. Tell me, why is it so easy for someone to give joy to a dumb animal, yet so hard to give joy to oneself? Why is a dog more worthy than you? To care for animals as a means to bandage that part of yourself that seems to be missing is only a quick fix. You can feel better by doing this, but you'd be deluding yourself. The dog runs away, or dies, and the emptiness comes back, meaning that you've wasted that many years running away from the problem instead of fixing it. People fill that flaw with alcohol, drugs, gambling, obsessing over their children or pets... Some addictions might seem more acceptable than others, but they are still a symptom, a cover up of the problem of the self.

A mother once wrote: "I devoted 18 years of my life to raising my two daughters, and it's taken them over 20 years to get over it. "

We see mothers living vicariously through their little children by entering them in beauty pageants. We know of men that don't feel like real men if they can't sleep with many different women.

These people have a missing piece inside of them that only they can find. To interact with others without that piece is to merely keep on running from we consider our inadequacies.

For me personally, I just don't like people. That of course is a very general statement. I had a German Shepard that contracted D.M. (no idea how to spell it, look it up if you're interested) taking care of a loving animal in need is just good for your soul. She died in my arms about 5 years later, will be with me forever but changed me as a person. I knew throwing the animal thing out there left me up for ridicule but whatever....
Perhaps the O.P. is more like me than you. Derversity of the crowd here has some value. Again, good luck O.P.

Yes our whole existence is flawed. What will we do about it?

Most likely nothing.

You will now never be able to tell yourself the lie that no one cares, because this post is already on Page 15 and is still going strong.
Obviously, there are a lot of us here on ATS that care about you. You are a part of our world. You're a part of my world. We don't like to see one of our own hurting. There are a few dozen opinions here about how you can face your dilemma, but the overall consensus is that we do care about you, and more than a few of us are worried for you. We wouldn't have taken the time to post a reply if we didn't care.
What has helped me over the years is learning the triggers that cause me to react in a certain way. I've made a point to learn what triggers depression in me, and what triggers happiness. It takes some effort, but if I make myself do the things that result in happiness, the depression begins to dissipate like the morning fog when the sun rises. That may sound like a silly metaphor, but it's the best way to describe how it feels when hope returns.
You'll have to discover all that for yourself.
Find the foundation that keeps you grounded. Find the anchors that keep your life from drifting.

Morpheus....we create our own hell. What your life is....is made by your choices. You are choosing to be isolated in side playing video games all day. Ask yourself....what will I gain from this? Will things EVER change if i continue what I am doing now? If the answer is no, you have to take steps to change it. One suggestion is to get the focus off your suffering....by helping someone who is worse off than you. It will give you a different perspective in life, as you will feel like you have a purpose and a goal....AND make a difference in someone else's life. You have a home, electricity to play your games etc....some people would love to have that. Try going to a homeless shelter and volunteer. It does wonders for the soul to see someone who has not smiled in a long time smile because you made a difference in their lives. And sometimes....it makes you realize you have it better than you think.

LOL To ridicule you would imply that I think I'm right. No way! I'm just giving my opinion. Nothing lightens a depression like seeing a playful kitten or puppy. They're adorable. I LOVE them!

What I dreadfully, DREADFULLY, fear is to be lying on my deathbed and looking back over my life only to find that I had lived a complete lie. No second chances. Can't go back and fix it. What was I thinking, letting my life be completely molded by an imaginary god?! How could I have been so stupid to think that a puppy would fix my emotional boo-boo?! lol

I would MUCH rather live with the horrible truth that life is meaningless than to set my life's course on a pretend thing.

I don't know if I have it right or wrong, but I can at least find some solace in the fact that I've spent my life looking for the unbrainwashed, unconditional truth.

Despit what you may feel, you are at a very advanced state of waking up. Recognition of maya is only a part of it.

There is a great release that comes from stopping the search for purpose. You are in the realm of NOW, and you might find it quiet boring and pointless. But that grey, empty feeling will soon pass and be replaced with space, and inner peace of mind.

Looking at your life circumstance and believing in your opinion of that circumstance, IS also an illusion of maya.

The pointlessness and boredom you feel, could be the symptom of the mind which is trying to find substance in the moment to moment as fuel to keep on going. Feed no energy to your mind and it's concepts, or conclusions. This is a circle which you will transcend. A bee could feel that it's life serves no purpose, it stares at the wanderous birds and wishes to be as glorious as they. Yet, throughout it's life, it is unaware of the grand purpose it is ALREADY serving. Your life isn't waiting on your mental recognition of it's worth, it is ALREADY doing what is was created to do. Your mind will never catch up to it, grab it and hold it for ever and ever. Releasing yourself from that bondage (which is the source of the dull pointless feelings), will ultimately lead you to your holy grail

The 'unhealthy need' I speak of is an addiction to people. As in, I need to control you. I need to dominate you. I need to make you see how helpless I am, therefore you would feel a great guilt if you ever left me, so I have trapped you.

Yes, I need people, too, but around ten minutes a day. I come to ATS because I WANT to, not NEED to. These forums can't really be called socializing because you can't infect me. You can't 'Take away' anything from me. If you bothered me, I could just shut you off, not like in the real world where you might become committed to sick relationships and friendships.

Wow! I am completely with you then 100%.

I read what you were saying wrong. I hate being controlled also, and I think the "need" for that is huge these day.

I think the institution of dating, engagement and then marriage is a prime example of this.

Anyone else thinks threads like this are actually not about OP? Enough flags - enough folks - chat may start. It's ok as long as we are able to listen, not just talk. So although I'm not OP - thanks for sharing your recipes.
We think we've got answers but from time to time we feel the same anyway, don't we?
OP's right. Most stuff we can do is just distraction to escape the hard truths.
It would better fit in Philosophy/Religion forum. I would say there that we are all lost and we don't know how to live meaningfully because our creator isn't here to tell us. What's really bringing me peace is the hope that one day I will hear real-time "user guide". Until then we may have to experience down here how it is without Him.
I'll tell you. Without hope and faith I would have been most likely dead already.

Start setting goals for yourself to conquer.
It doesnt really matter if you conquer or not, its the enthusiasm and passion that comes you the conquest process that matters.

You must want to do something.

Without will life fades away.

Here is a thread about it.

Another one. Take care.

And please wish something, you must want to do something!!

WE obviously can't give you a reason for existence, you have to find that out on your own.
Like everyone else.
