I thought this was one of the most important comments in this thread and maybe even on the site I've seen in quite sometime.

Before the internet, our species lacked the knowledge of many events taking place around the globe, including quakes, massive and devastating storms, etc. With today's technology, we're able to view various levels of destruction from our computer desks, living rooms, and even while we lye in our beds.

I guess my point is that these sort of events aren't new, that's how the universe works. That's our planet being a planet. Does this dismiss that something on a gigantic scale is going to happen eventually that'll impact our existence? Of course not but I will say let's not jump to wild end of the world conclusions...but yet again, that's our species being a paranoid species.

Just tired and wanting to know the answer. To see the next turn of time that has happened at so many points in earth's history and we as humans actually are so ignorant and smug to think it won't ever happen in our lifetime because we know everything. We know nothing.

Its the end of the world as we know it,but i feel fine. I wish what ever is going to happen happens already,the sus pence is killing me.

Something huge is going to happen in a global scale that is going to affect every single living being of the planet. Everything will perish and this cannot be stopped not by your own will, or any government or secret societies or aliens or whatever. You will realize that and then you will realize that the only thing that dies is not the real us, and that we really are eternal. When this happens, a feeling comes to fill your life: acceptance. I'm not afraid for what is happening with the world, in fact i'm just waiting for the day that the big thing strike us. Then we all are going to see the reality of everything.

I"ve been studying/researching the December 21, 2012 phenomenon for over 10 years. Something about that date cought my attention when I came accross it online and I couldn't shake the feeling that came over me when I read it. This very same feeling saved my life once and it's not your typical "gut" feeling either that most people talk about. I consider this feeling to be my sixth sense due to losing my hearing. I'm completely deaf in my right with 80% in the other. You know what they say when you lose a sense, that sense gets spread out accross your other senses. Well a little of that went towards my sixth sense while the rest was spread accross my other 4 senses as well as the little hearing I have left.

For those who say these events are only showing up more because of the Internet and how widely spread information is nowadays because of it, are the same people who are ignorant because they are scared of the possibility that the world will end on Decemeber 21, 2012. I can't tell you for sure what will happen but all I know is something big WILL happen because I feel it with every being of my soul. I've felt this for the last 10 years and I will continue to feel it which is why I've been waiting for that date to come and pass so I can finally exhale with relief. My only problem is deciding whether or not the world will end or if there will just be a big change.

Sorry for my spelling and grammar, I know it's not perfect because English isn't my best subject and it's also 12:30am which means I'm pretty darn tired.

This is not uncommon. I think it is among the first times that a video has been posted of it though. The lake seen in this video freezes over every year and has done for a long time.

It's just at the 11 year cycle and we have much better communication, worldwide, than 11 years ago. So people are paying more attention. It is not essentially any worse than the last time.

These increase in number as the Sun approaches the maximum part of its cycle. The Sun will reach its next maximum in the year 2011, give or take one year.

It's not unheard of and yes there is a scientific explanation. Yet again: we don't see it that often so it shocks us when we do see it on a video. It is not supernatural, religious or any other hocus pocus.

I always told myself that when I truly understood why they beach themselves, I would be able to tell others in one simple sentence. Finally, after 40 years, here's what I came up with: All outwardly healthy whales and dolphins that beach themselves are suffering from navigational failure brought on by barosinusitis.

I won't drag this post on any more than I have to. The march 11th quake here was explainable. We sit on a fault line which is extremely active. Stronger earthquakes have occurred in the past and have not meant the destruction of the planet. There is certainly no religious and probably no astrological reason for these quakes.
Someone will no doubt watch the sakurajima volcano 24 hours a day, 365 days a year until they finally see a plume of smoke which (somewhat) resembles a horse then they will hop on the "3 horsemen" fairy tale or something just as absurd.

We had a week of summer weather in March. We set record highs for a week straight. I suppose the thermometer was invented when the internet was invented, AmIRite?
You can try to play off one or two of the events as nothing unusual, but when you take them all together...yeah, something's not normal. All of those events happened in a span of 3 months. When the news is leaving things unexplained, the big flash of light, the massive animal deaths, the shaking in Wisconsin, etc. how can anyone play this off as normal?

USGS can not even keep the stats correct, they state 17 - 7.0-7.9 and 1 - 8.0 or greater per year. Yet the stats on the records page says 15- 7.0-7.9 and 1 - 8.0 or greater. That may not seem like much but which is it? I have a spreadsheet tracking earthquakes with the average of 5.0-5.9, 6.0-6.9, 7.0-7.9 and 8.0-greater and the averages from 1990-2011 are 1510, 142, 15, 1. So are earthquakes increasing well since 5.0-5.9 it states 1319 for an average and the last 21 years the average is 1510 and 3 of the last 5 years there have been more than 2000 a 50% increase in 5.0-5.9, the 6.0-6.9 21 year average is 142 when the overall is 134 and 3 of the 5 previous 5 years there have been a 30% increase and a 23% increase over the average posted on the USGS. 7.0-7.9 15=15 for the last 21 years, so Major earthquakes are not increasing by much except the last two years which had 23 7.0-7.9 in 2010 and 19 in 2011. My main point is the USGS needs all there stats to make sense, they changed what they tracked in 2009 world wide, they no longer track anything less than 4.5's. Yet in 2000 there 8008 4.0-4.9 and in 2011 there were 13315 4.5-4.9 so I ask why did they stop tracking everything less than 4.5 outside the US. What are they hiding if they can't keep stats straight one page to another and changing what stats they actually are keeping to keep numbers reasonable?
