erm....no it would not. I take it the baptist church has always been there.
That had nothing to do with being a good Samaritan for me, that had everything to do with acting on what I had learned from those early days of what a Muslim is.

##snip## all religious extremism (including Christianity).....even atheism. Each to their own.....as long as they do not impose their beliefs and culture on me and on mine.

I've been reading Rumi lately. I notice that much of his language reflects the life of Christ. Not only does Rumi, the Islamic Sufi, mention Jesus directly in many places, but he also talks of many of the stories that are mentioned in the Gospel of the New Testament. Rumi, the Islamic Sufi, also speaks of the message of Love for others that is God's intention for all true believers.
With that said, Jesus is one of the Muslim's messengers. Did he have a message? Yes. That message was to love your neighbor, even your enemies. The story of the good Samaritan in Luke 10 is a prime example. Jesus states that to gain eternal life, you must believe and love God and also love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus goes on to state that your neighbor is even your enemy.
Knowing this message of the messenger, we can deduce a few things about the Qur'an and its message to the world. Knowing that the main messenger to the world said to love your neighbor as a demonstration of your love for God, we can see clearly that the Qur'an becomes the book of judgment against the person who fails to follow this message. Going beyond this dilemma for the Muslim, we can also see that Issac (Israel) is its brother. Since God established the family, filial love should override all else. Even common men loves their family, as the Bible states. The true believer must love their enemies.
Jesus had a message. That message is clear. It is my hope and prayer that the Muslims and the people of Israel eventually see Jesus as their own kinsman. They may care to also know that Christians already follow the message of Jesus Gospel. Love is the fulfillment of all law. Without love, God is missing from their faith. God is love.
1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

the point of this thread is about a lass who has returned to her home town to find it, quite literally, radically altered in a negative and backward thinking way.....what's right with that?
