Desptie what pics are posted or what cloths a person white black or whatever.the truth is we dont have the facts but what i do know is that the police told zimmerman to stay in the truck its on tape. Instead zimmerman chose to persue Tryvon its not like he assulted zimmerman in the truck. Im not taking sides the only side im on is that two people have affected millions. And the next time if a guy is wearing say a carhartt hooded sweat shirt he should be prepard to be shot. Because your saying thugs wear hoodies.

I can't believe what I am reading. This is America isn't it? Land of the free? Aren't we free to look how we want without fear that we can be killed for it? We are better than this America. The funny thing is, the biggest theft of the American people was pulled off by bankers in suits and ties. They are the thugs.

I think a lot are missing the point, the OP was pointing out that the MSM presents only what they want you to see, if they were really nonpartisan they would show all the pictures. I think we agree Zimmerman should of just reported it and nothing else if he thought he was suspicious.

Several things. First, it doesn't matter what somebody looks like, only the facts of the case. Some of you really are reprehensible examples of Americans: somebody "looked like a thug" and that justified killing him? Really? That's your logic?? Zimmerman didn't have to talk to this kid. He wasn't a cop. Instead, he decided to harass the kid, as though he (Zimmerman) were some sort of authority. How would you have reacted at 17 if you were just on a trip to a convenience store and suddenly some guy in a car starts addressing you as though you had to answer his questions?? I'd've told him to go eff himself. That's obviously lost on some of you. The kid didn't provoke the incident. Zimmerman did. That's a fact.

Second, the picture wasn't some "media conspiracy." Obviously, none of you have ever worked in the news media. The media use the first picture available. It wasn't like the story happened and there were a flood of verified pictures out there.

The conspiracies some of you see in the "MSM" are paranoid and delusional to the point of being mentally ill.

The main point about the Trayvon discussion should be that the courts decide who's guilty or innocent....not some talking heads on tv or some bunch of conspiracy theorists on the intertoobs.

the kid deserves a day in court even though he's dead.

I'm seeing him wearing a black t-shirt, a hoodie, a cap and a necklace. Hmm. Yes, very intimidating indeed.

One of the nicest people I know, who would go out of his way and give the shirt off his back to help you, has his body covered with tattoos, is pierced in god knows how many places and has a gold tooth. He also sports t-shirts, baseball caps and his favorite hoodies as his regular everyday ensemble. I'd trust him with my kids' lives. He's helped my family out many times over the years and is just one of those people you really want in your life. If he had to walk down Zimmerman's neighborhood, I'm guessing he wouldn't last long. Then again, he's a big guy, kind of intimidating upon first glance and Z-man probably would just stay in his car.

I have read many ignorant posts on ATS but you my friend might be the most ignorant person to ever post online, a hoody and a straight bill hat makes someone a thug? And makes his murder justified? I try to look at everyone's opinion from their point of view before i judge but you are just a f***ed up person in every way possible, if we all fallowed your standards then everyone teenager in america who wares a hoody and a hat should be shot, do me a favor and put a hoody on and a hat and then go to the store and buy some skittles and a pop and go walk around George Zimmerman's neighborhood

So sad how this story is giving white people the chance to really show how racist they are...let me go shoot a 17 year old and get called a hero...idiot. White people feel threatened by blacks in general. why is this??? is it the "urban" clothing? or the brown skin?? GOING TO THE STORE TO GET A SNACK AND A DRINK DOESN'T PUT YOU IN THE WRONG. you people have serious issues with yourself. Media is causing racial tensions. nothing pretty when a group of 17 years old that you called thugs, shows up at your door and drags you out of your sleep. think about it. the last generation isn't putting up with this bull#. if you think 17-21 are...you are so wrong.

Guys, the OP is NOT , I repeat NOT saying that this guy was dressed like a thug and deserved to be shot, so just stop that argument right now, your purposefully clouding the subject, which coincidentally is what the OP was trying to say the media is doing....So to make sure your keeping up...in no way shape or form is it ok to shoot somebody because they "look" like a thug.

Now I will agree with the original message the OP was going for, the media is 100% showing pictures of this kid when he was much smaller and younger on purpose. If this guy was missing they would be showing recent pictures and NOT yearbook pictures from middle school...but for this they are showing nothing but pictures that does not represent what this person looked like in the last 6months...Yet the picture of Zimmerman is a recent picture so the age seems even wider than it is, not to mention its one of those that makes you look like you just woke up or a mug shot.....This is the point and what should be discussed. Its not about Zimmerman at all, or if hes guilty, so take that to another thread asap. This is about the media manipulating the masses as usual and not giving a non biased informed story that we deserve.

If the media is showing pictures that will garnish "sympathy",,,then what does that say about the times we live in???

Racism is so prevalent that the media has to "play up" this shooting to get the public involved, or else no one will give a damn. This isnt the first shooting of an unarmed black man,,,,and nothings gonna change

And for the record,,,the MSM doesnt care either,,,if not for this kids parents,,,this too would be swept under the rug!

To play devils advocate, Treyvon was a minor, and therefore I believe the media is limited in what pictures they can show of him. Most likely the parent/guardians have to give consent and also have to provide what pictures they give consent to show on the news.

Im not 100% positive but I have heard/read things along these lines pertaining to minors in the media. So the media may not have had a choice of what pictures they could show, it would either be no pictures, or whatever pictures the family allowed? Does anyone here positively know about this framework? If so, your input would be appreciated.

What you're talking about is law pertaining to minors when they've been arrested, not when they're victims.

Threads like this make me want to stop watching this site. Worst case scenario, the kid looks like a "thug" which is simply a nice way of saying he looked black.... how does this translate into deserving to be shot for grabbing a pack of skittles and iced tea for his sister from the corner store. I was down in Florida on vacation and saw a lot of the area media cover this incident... he was out at the store in the rain getting candy and iced tea for his sister... no one deserves to be stalked, assaulted, shot or killed under these circumstances... ever... White, Black, Asian or Hispanic....

Unless I'm misreading your post it's one giant contradiction. First you say white people shouldn't feel threatened by blacks...then you threaten that a group of young blacks will drag us out of our sleep!

Which is it?? Sounds threatening to me. I wonder if Martin had that attitude. Maybe Martin attempted to teach Zimmerman a lesson and it didn't work out too well.

The truth is coming people. Hold on.

Don't be swayed by the appeasing the black community mentallity taking place on the TV etc and all the marches etc.

When the real story comes out, you will learn how Mr. Zimmerman was actually attacked by the "child".

Yes, Mr. Obama, I guess he could be your boy.

Zimmerman started the whole thing. He was in a CAR for crying out loud. He started asking questions which the kid was under NO obligation to answer. But go ahead, just ignore facts. Ignorant people do that.

I don't care if he was wearing a "thug life" sign around his neck. He was unarmed. He was walking in a place where he had a right to be. Someone took it upon themselves to follow, harrass, confront and ultimately kill this young man. Did Trayvon stand up to his attacker, probably. And good for him. He had every right to. That stand your ground law works both ways bucko.

The FACT that the police in this town did not even bother to identify this child for three days tells me everything I need to know about their investigation.

A child is dead for NO reason other than what some idiot with a gun and a little bit of power conconcted in his own twisted small mind. What the hell is wrong with you?!

thats the ignorant part i am talking about first of all why does it matter what picture is shown to the media, if you died and were on the news would your family give the media pictures of you getting drunk or dressed in some sweat pants and a shirt or would they give them a nice school picture of you smiling, one is not a thug by the clothes he wears, and they way you put it is that zimmerman was attacked first, hmmmm interesting, my understanding is this fat a** went outside with a GUN approached a kid who looks like a "thug" and basically started harassing him, and then regardless of a fight or not this man proceeded to pull that gun and shoot a defenseless child, i think the people who are defending this post are missing the point, it doesn't MATTER WHAT PICTURE IS POSTED ON THE NEWS A KID WAS KILLED BECAUSE A CRAZY MAN WITH A GUN THOUGHT HE WAS "UP TO NO GOOD"
